Pragtig Man! This is becoming quite relevant for us here in South Africa. I've got an identical lister in storage. I'm moving into a house in a few weeks and cant wait to setup my "machine"
I remember the same engine being used in villages to pump water and put in fields. They used the pumped out cold water to cycle through the engine for cooling so there was an endless supply of cold water and the engine used to run whole night without any problem.
A real work of art, with pulleys so true! Thank you! Is the green tank cooling water? Where is the fuel tank? Hard to believe the HP output is likely less than that of a small gas push mower! Thanks again!
I have 8 hp engines for water harvesting since 42 years, today i watched your video and i fall in love with this engine, very beautiful nice sound, wow. I guarantee you that this engine will run with a whole generation but i doubt for generator for so high rpm. And what you have done at 3.05 ?
you've put quite a lot of money into restoring and updating this engine.....just the dual belted serpentine drive pulley setup is custom made and generally dearly priced ....i don't think it needs 2 belts but why not....
Surprised it uses 1L per hour, I thought it would be less .. My 20kW 1800 rpm generator has a 4cyl Perkins diesel and uses about half a gallon .. about 2 liters per hour, and that's powering the whole house.

Same thing in my village.
I could use a recording of this to fall asleep at night.
Nice rig, Love the air filter with the cyclone. Premium filtration.
Won't work well sideways though...

Beautiful example.. how the hell anybody can thumb this setup down is beyond me ...
I have the same thought, this is really a fine setup!
Oh I could watch this fine work day and night :D
Very clean and neat setup you got there!

We want to see and hear it under full load. Put a 3KW load on it.
That is to cool I like it great job.
nice well restored engine
hi do you need a avr on the old hoffberg 3kw or is it safe to run straight as is
Beautiful

Are you sure it is a 3kW gennie? More likely 1 kW.
the engine is rated at 6hp, thats about 4.5kw so allowing for losses 3kw doesn't seem unreasonable.
Says it right on the name plate
😂
