The Michigan wheel ballistic that nzbullet uses is almost 15inch in diameter x 26pitch. A wolf in sheeps clothing. Now runs 85mph at 7000rpm. They are about 700 bucks. Its the type that have the tips of the blades cut off.
Living vicariously through you folks. I am putting together a 1973 Sidewinder 16ss with a 200 hp EFI Merc. I still have a little glass work to do on mine but waiting for it to warm up a bit.
Thanks man! Can be a struggle getting to the water & then staying on it out there trouble free haha. Keep me posted on ya build I'd love to see it! Your waiting for it to warm up & I'm ready for it to cool off here 😆
All that synthetic draining from the lower units actually look super normal correct to me. Even with what you see is traces of wear and water. That still seems pretty normal to me. What I really like about those drains is it is making beads on the front fin of the lower, which means the oil hasn't broken down yet.
The MW prop is more suited to bass boats/ski boats and isn't going to run up high well at all. Mazco re 3/4, Hoss Triton and Hyperdrive, a drag 3 or 4 from Performance Propellers, the newer generation choppers and the 14.5 diameter 3 blades from Hydromotive are what your going to be looking for. Love the new Aquarius, I bought an older one last year and am headed to Florida in a few hours with it for a big river run . I will have all stainless double bearing driveshafts available soon for the sporties in 12/15/20 inch lengths too.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and reaching out to me! I will most definitely be keeping you in mind if I need to source those harder to find parts you mentioned. Thanks again means so much to me, to have such veteran enthusiasts willing to help and give guidance 🙏
I run a 26 Michigan wheel ballistic 3 blade it’s the prop I have on in all my videos its Phillips boat I’m the driver boat is set up to go round circuit so never really over 82mph
Have you got the trim on the shift lever ? couldnt see it on the wheel or maybe its on the floor ..I always had mine on the wheel so i could keep both hands on the wheel
I have a couple of boats with 2.5 Mercs. One LTV/150hp, and a Bullet basser/200hp. Also have a wall full of props pitched between 26", and 28". I run 28p full diameter 4 blade props, Signature cleaver on the LTV, and Signature eagle et on the Bullet, both 2" above pad. This setup is not good for hard turning, but is the fastest, and smothest I've found for straight line running on my boats. Both boats spin close to 6500rpm. I haven't had much luck with a 26p drag, or 26p trophy, even with engine lowered. Not enough blade area imo, unless you spin them real fast on a light boat. If running 3 blade choppers 26p-28p, or 3 blade 28p et, I drop the engine, closer to flush, and the Bullet is a little easier to drive, but both are not as fast. All boats are different. I've heard Allisons don't like as much engine height as i run, they also like hydomotive props, which i dont own.
Wow you definitely have your hands full with everything you own, it's funny you mention Allison's prefer being lower than other model boats as this is what my gut is starting to tell me.. the 4 blade turns and steers so nice, very little restriction in the wheel.. what's your favourite prop of all?
@@BoatzntheHood The 4 blade cleaver gave the most gains on the LTV. Cracked 80mph with the little 150 last year. Since then I swapped to 16 amp electrics, and with a little gearcase work, hope to gain a couple more mph. Enjoy, and look forward to your video's! Just thought I would let ya know about running a little more pitch, might keep the engine repairs down a bit. Good luck.
I love watching your videos! I feel like I’m learning heaps about my new found hobby, I’ve just purchased a 1982 bullet with a 200 2.4 merc and it’s my first boat and I’m currently converting it to hydraulic steering. Do you sell merch btw and if so where at? Thanks mate !
Thanks so much for your support & feedback! Makes it all worthwhile hearing comments like this & I'm also just as interested in viewers boat builds aswell! We most certainly do have merch! Www.boatznthehood.com is where you can grab yourself a shirt, or find the same link I typed in RUclips channel bio or same link on my instagram page bio. Thanks again means alot!
A 25P Trophy Plus carried my 18.5ft Triton 75mph at 6100-6200 with my 2.5 with two people and fishing gear the other day. Much heavier than the dark knight. Try the trophy at about 1.5in below pad and see what happens.
Thanks for the info my man! Appreciate you, your videos have helped me learn immensely also 🙏 I will definitely get around to weighing my complete setup in the very near future, as I'm curious myself! Also happy to collaborate with you brother ✌️
Thanks brother! I'll shoot you an email soon with an idea for a collab. But don't underestimate the Trophy. It's a sneaky performance wheel with quite a bit of stern lift. It may surprise you. Keep up the content man! It's awesome!
If you're looking for speed on the big end....get away from through hub props...29p Chopper will put you at 90+ mph in that boat with the right set up and provide plenty of lift to keep ya from over trimming ..
I love how the misses and the dog are super down to do these runs. Last time I did a speed run in my sketchy 18' Tahiti I got told off lol
Haha the misses & the dog love the water lifestyle just as much as myself, which is a bonus ❤️🖤💙

The ballistic is a good prop they are available here in Australia, I would definitely like to try one in a larger diameter
Watching from the state of Michigan we're just coming into spring.
Thankyou! I hope you enjoy, and get a laugh from my adventures & struggles

If you struggle with the 4 blade i would also suggest dropping the motor a bit and run the prop lower in the water had the same issue
Yes I'm keen to find the 4 blades maximum potential as it steers & drives really well & doesn't wear out my arms like a chopper does!
I run a 26 Michigan wheel ballistic

Wicked! Yes I like how much better the boat turns & steers with the Michigan wheel

Yes unfortunately it is still on the lever, it's on top of my list for upcoming changes, as I also would prefer 2 hands on the wheel at all times!
