  • Many times, we get queries from first-time trekkers asking if they can attempt the Goechala Trek. Given that it is a moderate-difficult trek, many of them have doubts about whether they can take it up as their first trek.
Now, the biggest reason to do the Goechala trek is the grand views of the big mountains you see. You don’t just see one summit - the Kanchenjunga - but 14 other big summits. That’s a lot for any trek - especially as close to the eyes as on the Goechala trek. It is no wonder that trekkers consider Goechala to be the closest to the big mountain treks of Nepal.
Getting these rewards does not come easy. The trek involves heavy ascents, extremely long days of trekking and climbing to high altitudes above 15,000 ft.
Can Goechala Be Your First Trek As A Beginner?
In this video Swathi Chatrapathy, Head of Content team at Indiahikes talks about how one can attempt Goechala as a first-timer and how to prepare for it.
