For me it was an easy choice...coming from Ping G425 I went with the forgiveness of the TSR2 and I feel it was the right choice...picked up between 8 and 10 yards over the Ping through reduced spin but dont feel that I gave up much in the way of forgiveness
I’ve been playing since 1989. The Titleist TSR2 is by far the best driver I’ve ever had and trust me I had many. Accuracy, swing speed, feel, sound, dispersion, distance : it just checks all the boxes. Still I may advise that you go for a fitting and try them all, only you can choose which driver is talking to you.
Look at the clubface at the top of that first swing Gary. (2:38 ish) It's so open at the top it's straight up and down. I think when you get that fixed you're going to be able to play any driver you want. The new TSR line all look really good to me. Second swing too.
Not to jump on the band wagon about spotting things ... however I am going to 😁 ... Proved by your numbers you are hitting down on the ball. Your shoulders at set up seem fairly level given the camera angle. If anything nudge the ball up in your stance have some side bend and see how it goes. You could also try tee'ing it up with a orange tee and see how you get on.
Thanks for the tips guys, always welcome! I’ll check out that swing at 2.38. They do look good! I think the face must sit slightly closed on the tsr2 compare to 3. Both felt very similar apart from that.
Some strange numbers for GC Quad or GC3 whichever that was. 1.56 efficiency on 1 shot and 107 club speed where most of the others we around 98. Was the face dotted correctly?
I've never had a Titleist driver but the TSr2 has my head turned and when i got fitted my dispersion was only + or - 10 yards left to right. I'm just going to have to get it.
The TSR 3 is a ball speed monster. I game it cranked down to 7.25 with the Tour Design UB X stiff shaft. Love the performance and setup. Word of caution, you need to be able to find the center of the face. It will punish you on mishits. 👍
That’s some setup! I’ve tried the same spec in 9*, that shaft feels so so nice! Id love to buy one 😮💨but I can’t justify it atm 😮💨 big big upgrade! It will punish you at 7.25 😂🤣🤣 missle launcher 😀 I got a new tsi3 head really cheap, and I’ve put a big upgrade shaft in it I got cheap too 😅 on a budget 😃
The biggest concern I would have with these drivers for you is launch and spin. Ball overall is coming out very low and some of those spin numbers are essentially unplayable especially launching it that low. Would definitely love to see this test with a bit more loft and a higher launching shaft. Definitely some good balls with the spin getting over 2000 but those sub 2000 spin drives would definitely be scary and probably would contribute to your fear of a quick left
I'm in the process of solving that puzzle. Had a TSi3 10* and trying a TSr2 11*. Both with HAZRDS 60 stiff. Both produce similar low ball flight. Was hitting 910D 10* with Diamana blue low but higher than either new driver. Dispersion and distance are good. Any ideas?
My driver's looks depend directly on the last shot I just watched coming off the club. Nice shot="Man I love this driver, this thing is perfect" !!! Into the woods=" you know, perhaps it's the color that's the problem"
Hahaha 🤣 lol If prefer something smaller and compact than shallow and long, but if it works, I will compromise on looks. Do you swap a lot? I’m very close to settling now, it’s either going to be the last years TSI 3 driver or a pxg 0811 Ia can buy them brand got brand new for under £200, and I just can’t afford anymore than that atm.

Agree…you’re playing a wrong loft and shaft combo. You don’t have the swing speed to generate the spin required to hit a low launching shaft like that. And an X? No way.
It’s just setup in the standard factory settings. I’m not a heavy user of a launch monitor, so I don’t understand if my distance is good or bad for that club speed?
Not necessarily true. I swing 95mph on average an have the TSR3 as we speak. I can’t get the ball to get over 25-30 feet in the air and carry distance is about 210-220 and total distance is around 250-260. I’m in South Carolina so at a pretty low altitude. I can see with 100mph swing it going 280 all day.
Gary I just took a punt and bought a tsr 2 brand new at c4cash for under £300 in a tensei 55 stiff shaft all I can say is wow why have I never tried a titleist before it’s defo staying in the bag
I think you'll do much better with a 10 degrees and maybe a mid-launch shaft, because the backspin and launch numbers are way too low, and going for a lighter shaft say the 60g range you'll also pick up a few mph club head speed.
@@garymartingolf straight to a slight fade, when jason fitted me he put it in the upright setting to help with my left shots (I’m left handed). Awesome driver and so forgiving

The TSR2 has a face designed to create more speed across the face The TSR3 has a ring face designed for more speed around the center of the face. That's what Titliest says anyway.
You were fit for a 70g 6.5 hzrdus black with 100mph club speed? And a 9 degree head? That’s a recipe for exactly what you are seeing. Low snap hooks with no spin. I love the hzrdus black but man I play a 6.0 60g 10.0 degree and swing at 110mph. You are in way to stiff of a shaft and not enough loft.

Gaz, compare your set up to those on the tour. Your right shoulder is too high. Probably feels level. But top pros soften their right side which drops the shoulder a titch. This allows you to bomb your driver hitting through the ball. Level shoulders has a tendency to pull the shot or worst case, you come over the top.
I appreciate that and I agree, the problem is, we’re lucky in the UK, fittings are free, you can get them almost anywhere, but alot of the subscribers from Canada and America can travel upto 5 hours to find a custom fitting outlet, and even then, they can charge over £100 a fit, so those guys, sometimes have to make do with making the best calculated guess they can.
Honestly think your shaft is what’s killing your driver! That is a very low spin and x-stiff shaft. My club head speed is 118 and I only play a 6x ventus. The ball isn’t staying in the air for you. Try a graphite design tour ad-di 6x. It launches higher

Agreed. I purchased the 9 degree TSR3 with the HZRDUS black 60g 6.5 and the fade with that thing was waaaayyyyy too much for my game. Club head speed for me is around 95 on average. I dropped down to a Tensie 55g R flex and the fade is still there for sure but not nearly as bad. Still bad enough even in full draw biased setting it’s hurting my distance so I’ve gone back to my old driver (10.5 degree TM m2 with 56g R flex)
