I have heard that the scene was wholly unscripted. Jason was not told what the countdown news was, and likely assumed - like the rest of us - that it was leading up to Lily’s pregnancy. Only Alyson had received the final page of the scene so that they could capture his real, raw reaction to getting that news as he was coming out of the bar, likely assuming the season was going to end on the “high” of Lily’s pregnancy announcement. Jason nailed the moment BEAUTIFULLY and the rest is history… it still gets me every damn time as well.
The song playing in the background as they meet at the train station is also a sign. Its called The Funeral by Band of Horses and the lyrics are literally about waiting for a funeral
I always thought it was a very foreboding song for what was meant to be an epic romantic moment. But as a hint towards a tragic ending it makes a lot more sense
In the background of the scene where Barney is hit by the bus, he is standing next to a one way sign pointing the way opposite of the direction the bus was traveling.
Did you notice that in the last episode of Season 6. When they started counting down to blow up the Arcadia.. if u continue the count to 0 it matches the reveal of Lily’s Pregnancy 😊 It’s a countdown to Good News for Marshall.
Actually, basing from the position of the hands, the time reads 3:20. Which just goes to show that they were probably high when they were setting the clock lol
This show gets a lot of flack nowadays but you even mention Marshall's dad to me and I WILL CRY he's so lovable and his relationship with Marshall is so touching it makes it so much more impactful
Top 20 times ted mosby was the worst 1. Cheating on victoria with robin 2. Demand robin to abandon her dogs 3. Being the corrector 4. Dumped natalie twice on her birthday 5. Called lily a grinch 6. When he disbelieved in druthers heart attack (yes hes a jerk but still notice the signs) 7. His st pattys day act 8. Never take no for an answer when it comes to stella 9. Nearly killed stella with peanuts 10. Throw three nights of parties 11. Gaslighting zoey for ruining his dreams 12. Forcing his kids to listen to his stories against their will 13. When he brought robin to his wedding after stella told him not to 14. Dating amy the bad girl 15. When he reunite with victoria during her wedding 16. When he gives barney cold shoulders (hes with stella anyways so why does it matter if barney hook up with robin. Beside robin started it) 17. When he told marshall about robins secret (the slap bet) 18. When he slept with robin while shes dating bob 19. Pressure robin to date him (come on) 20. How he treated barney at times
Many of the reasons are so far-fetched.. For example, 5 Grinches..Well, that's childish. And even then it was true. And 10 "Parties". What's so "worst" about it... or 3 "correctors". This is a feature of Ted that is inherent in many educated people. Why do you think she's bad? Many people also like it when they are told the correct meanings of words or how to use them, because they do not want to make such a stupid mistake at some event or in a circle of smart people because of ignorance. The peanut case 9. Well, Ted couldn't have known she was allergic. And she didn't tell him anything. It's not his fault. 11 was also true. Zoey really ruined his dream for some stupid reason, instead of going to talk to a psychologist about it. Ted was right. 12 Ted did not force them to listen against their will. Yes, the children whimpered and pretended to be disappointed, but they listened to it all themselves. Or do you think that if one of them had said that he did not want to hear about the "conquests" of his father and his friends, then Ted would have held them back by force? What a stupid thing to do. The children were interested, and they listened themselves, they complained only because Ted told the story in detail, which made it long. And paragraphs 16 and 20 are generally the same. I don't like Ted, but I think it's wrong to make him the main villain of the story and come up with strained cases of his "bad" deeds. Because every character in the series has done a lot of bad things. And not all of them are the best people.
@@Татьяна-ц9ф8й yeah but many people also don't like to be corrected bc to them it makes themselves feel like they are being looked down on and the corrector smuggingly mocks them for grammatical errors. It's not school anymore and it's not against the rule to say things however we like so why can't we just have fun with our word usage And the party is bad bc he didn't think about how it might affect marshal bc he had a 3 page essay to write. The party can distract him. Sure he got a B but he would've gotten an A if there is no party. A party all for Robin who took 3 days to actually show up. And 16 is generally the worst. How he treated him normally was just a brush off his shoulder and things are still legendary for them. But in 1 ep after he found out Barney slept with Robin in at his worst. It doesn't even make sense anyways. He was dating Stella at the time so it should not make him mad or jealous if slightly if he did sleep with Robin. If Ted is still single and Barney did slept with Robin and Ted got mad that would make the slightest sense
I think Neil Patrick Harris goes down as one of the all time best sitcom actors 😂😂😂 his schemes with lafies are good but the ones he does with the gang are even better
I was thinking the chopsticks thing was part of the “i dont like Chinese” bit. Which by the way ties in nicely with this - umm Chinese and Japanese are different food and chopsticks snd hibachi cooking tools are very different skills.

Yes they did, some times they say to the bar tender "put it on my tab". There are also some moments where you see them tip Wendy when she brought food etc
10:34 mostly in tv show when they died in the show is bc they doed in real life. Im just glad bill fagerbakk didnt die as it can be his end to his patrick star career
lily was originally supposed to be pregnant and she was supposed to announce it when she comes out of the cab and marshall was there, the writers changed the ending to marshall’s dad dying
Because she's his wife? Maybe the family tried to call at the same time he was calling his dad, or they called the landline (remember those?), or many other reasons. When my nan died, my husband broke the news to me because he happened to be the person who answered the door when my dad came to tell me.

That scene where Marshall finds out that his dad died gets me every time. I always cry to this day.
Same here

@@pembrokelovei believe his real father died not too long b4
Oh man, me too 😭
I got chills everytime I see this scene, even now, for just a few seconds...
My favourite is still the countdown to the news of Marshall's dad's death. They cleverly hid numbers in every single scene until the big reveal.
The song playing in the background as they meet at the train station is also a sign. Its called The Funeral by Band of Horses and the lyrics are literally about waiting for a funeral

It’s a countdown to Good News for Marshall.
These are brilliant. I've watched the show so many times now, yet a couple of these were mind blowingly new for me ❤
I loved following the story of Ted find his girl.
I was crying when he met her for the first time.
...
And after the last Episode it was all gone
I like the bit where Barney has headphones in the back of the taxi and he is dancing to Beyonce Ring On It

Also in #8, the bus is traveling the wrong way down a one way street. 😏😂

This makes the show THAT much betterrr
Watched the show so many times that i've eventually seen & loved all those gags
I just noticed the bus is going the wrong way when it hits barney
I thought I was the only one that noticed that 😂😂😂
Its a legend wait for it dary ❤
you see the frozen background character move a little actually, but it's still funny
You just know Barney made a TON of money from that bus company.
I think Neil Patrick Harris goes down as one of the all time best sitcom actors 😂😂😂 his schemes with lafies are good but the ones he does with the gang are even better
Most of these I knew some I didn’t

Surprised thay you didnt mention the S9E12 the couple in the background when the gang are making fun of Robyn

That's not La vie en rose playing on NYE....change my mind 😉
They reveal the mothers name in the first episode
In all my times of watching this series I’ve never seen them actually pay for drinks while at the bar. Have any of you?
Yes they did, some times they say to the bar tender "put it on my tab". There are also some moments where you see them tip Wendy when she brought food etc
