10 years passed since their performance as a supporting act to Helloween & Stratovarius in Thessaloniki, a night that I'll never forget. Some things I recall from that night? Running through some farming fields with my brother to find the live stage, my torned up leather jacket (moshpit casualty) and the awesome feeling of the first metal concert in my life. I still have the homonymous CD signed from all the members of Avatar that night. Thank you for everything, love from Greece.

OH god, seeing this video was amazing, especially considering that after a while you start to realize that the video was filmed on the same concert that you were on, and you're somewhere at the front and in the middle of all those crazy motherfuckers. Hace buen tiempo que descubrí Avatar gracias a un amigo que me compartió un fragmento de un video donde tocaron en vivo en uno de los conciertos más importantes de metal a nivel internacional. Allí escuché por primera vez "Smells like a freak show" y "Let it burn", habiendo captado totalmente mi atención al instante. Sin duda. Y a pesar de que son canciones que disfruto con madre y nunca falta el headbanging cuando las escucho en cualquier momento del día, no puedo decir que éstas se traten de mi canción favorita de la banda. Después de escucharlos en vivo y descubrir un show totalmente distinto a lo que alguna vez en mi corta vida había visto, los busqué en la única red social (y afortunadamente gratuita) que tengo: RUclips. No fue sino hasta que entré a YT y busqué "Avatar" (no sin antes percatarme que en ese entonces era más popular la película que la banda, jaja) que de verdad me explotó la cabeza con el sonido tan particular y fantástico que escuché. Y déjenme decirles que no ha habido nada más chingón en mi vida musical (por pedorra e inexperta que ésta sea jajaja), que escuchar el proceso evolutivo que ha tenido la agrupación en todos estos años, desde su comienzo con el lanzamiento de "Thoughts of no tomorrow". No solamente escuchando sus canciones en cada nuevo álbum me di cuenta de esta evolución y crecimiento, sino también leyendo los comentarios de cientos de fanáticos en YT, que como yo, amamos y adoramos su música. Y es así que buscando y escuchando sus récords hallé esta Masterpiece, pero qué digo pieza maestra, ¡es una gran puta canción! ufff, tan bien estructurada en mi opinión, tan bien equilibrada, tan ... sencillamente perfecta, que desplazó con creces a viejas canciones de metal que antes consideré mis favoritas (sin menos preciar en absoluto el viejo amor que tengo por aquellas bandas). De verdad, esta canción revolucionó mi amor por el metal, el nuevo metal después de las décadas de los 90' y los 2000. Desde entonces los he seguido en cada oportunidad que tengo. He de admitir que a pesar de todo esto que he dicho, no puedo considerarme el fan número 1, por la simple razón de no contar con el suficiente dinero para comprar todos sus álbumes (o mercancía) jajajaja. No se diga viajar al rededor del mundo para poder disfrutar de un concierto en vivo. A pesar de esto, me siento feliz de haber logrado comprar un par de sus récords, y con duras penas un par de boletos para uno de sus conciertos en mi ciudad. Escuchar su música es verdaderamente un deleite. Los admiro tanto, no solo por experimentar (de una forma fenomenal) con la creación musical, sino también por imprimir en cada canción un estilo particularmente irónico, juguetón, maléfico, infantil, obscuro, melancólico, pasional, alegre en sus letras, tocando temas de todo tipo. Literalmente de todo tipo. Verán, yo, viniendo de una familia católica convencional mexicana, puedo decir que hay tópicos que llegaron a rosar lo inaudito para mí, sin embargo, después de escuchar una, y otra, y otra, y otra, y miles de veces las canciones, las terminé amando y genuinamente incorporando a mi vida. Canciones como "Reload", "Hail the apocalypse", "Blody Angel", "Dance devil dance". He hallado un sentido artístico en su música dentro de mi trabajo y de mi vida diaria, y he de agradecerles por eso. Ojalá alguien del staff del grupo pueda compartirles este mensaje, y quien me lea, ojalá también comparta conmigo esta emoción de escuchar su canción favorita del grupo. No solamente escuchando sus canciones en cada nuevo álbum me di cuenta de esta evolución y crecimiento, sino también leyendo los comentarios de cientos de fanáticos en YT, que como yo, amamos y adoramos su música.
Y es así que buscando y escuchando sus récords hallé esta Masterpiece, pero qué digo pieza maestra, ¡es una gran puta canción! ufff, tan bien estructurada en mi opinión, tan bien equilibrada, tan ... sencillamente perfecta, que desplazó con creces a viejas canciones de metal que antes consideré mis favoritas (sin menos preciar en absoluto el viejo amor que tengo por aquellas bandas). De verdad, esta canción revolucionó mi amor por el metal, el nuevo metal después de las décadas de los 90' y los 2000.
Desde entonces los he seguido en cada oportunidad que tengo.
He de admitir que a pesar de todo esto que he dicho, no puedo considerarme el fan número 1, por la simple razón de no contar con el suficiente dinero para comprar todos sus álbumes (o mercancía) jajajaja. No se diga viajar al rededor del mundo para poder disfrutar de un concierto en vivo. A pesar de esto, me siento feliz de haber logrado comprar un par de sus récords, y con duras penas un par de boletos para uno de sus conciertos en mi ciudad.
Escuchar su música es verdaderamente un deleite. Los admiro tanto, no solo por experimentar (de una forma fenomenal) con la creación musical, sino también por imprimir en cada canción un estilo particularmente irónico, juguetón, maléfico, infantil, obscuro, melancólico, pasional, alegre en sus letras, tocando temas de todo tipo. Literalmente de todo tipo. Verán, yo, viniendo de una familia católica convencional mexicana, puedo decir que hay tópicos que llegaron a rosar lo inaudito para mí, sin embargo, después de escuchar una, y otra, y otra, y otra, y miles de veces las canciones, las terminé amando y genuinamente incorporando a mi vida. Canciones como "Reload", "Hail the apocalypse", "Blody Angel", "Dance devil dance". He hallado un sentido artístico en su música dentro de mi trabajo y de mi vida diaria, y he de agradecerles por eso.
Ojalá alguien del staff del grupo pueda compartirles este mensaje, y quien me lea, ojalá también comparta conmigo esta emoción de escuchar su canción favorita del grupo. Es por esto que dejaré mi comentario aquí, en el video de mi canción favorita, y no en otra parte (además de que no tengo cuenta en "X", Instagram, ni en ninguna otra pinche red social jajaja).
Y si alguien del grupo lee esto, le digo que ansió, pero qué digo ansío ¡muero por verlos en vivo en mi ciudad natal! jaja. Será sin duda una noche inolvidable, de la cual no importa haberme quedado sin comer 2 semanas, jajaja, valió la pena la inversión de cada peso en la compra de los boletos.
