As a disabled veteran who served for 13 years in the Army that deals with DAILY pain and immobility, I get very angry with people like this who receive VA benefits for being a dirtbag the entire time that were in the military and spend their entire time trying to get out. I know a lot of veterans who served honorably that struggle to get any VA disability or benefits, yet dirtbags somehow seem to get benefits.

I remember one weekend while I was in the Navy, I went to a party with some friends. At one point, I was walking down the hall and right as I passed a closed-door it's suddenly opened up and I was enveloped by a cloud of weed smoke while a bunch of dudes tried to run out. They had been hot boxing or something, I don't know. Unlike this woman, I have *actually* never smoked weed.
The following Monday, my name came up for urinalysis and I was concerned, for obvious reasons. So I went to my LPO and Chief. I sat down with them in private and I told them everything. They made several justified remarks on my lack of intelligence, but said that I would be perfectly fine so long as I had not been smoking it myself. According to my chief, they had done tests to see if simple secondhand smoke would cause a positive test, and apparently it didn't. And sure enough, I didn't pop positive.
Point being, if she popped positive, she was smoking it.

I feel like it also depends on the command size too...I was at a small shore command where for some reason, how the algorithm worked I guess, when a new person got there, they would end up on the hit list like every week at least once for a while...it was very annoying...and even after months of being there I saw my name on the list constantly...and I was never on anyone's radar...people would laugh at the idea of me popping on a test...I've literally never done any type of drug in my life and just never had an interest in it...the strongest drug that's ever been in my system was ibuprofen lol...but yeah I was on the hit list all the time and nobody had anything against me or a reason to think I'd pop 🤷🏼‍♀️ sometimes it's just luck of the draw...and it's annoying as hell having to pee in front of another person weekly 🤣
Not to say I have zero doubts that she could've been targeted or singled out...just saying I guess you'd need a little more evidence than "I was always on this hit list"...its definitely possible that she was singled out, and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if that was the case, because people can be shady...but I also don't necessarily buy into that theory either...

Joining the military was hands down the best decision I ever made. And, it's not even close. I joined in 2010. Fast forward a decade and I have a bachelor's degree, healthcare for life, finacial compensation for injuries while serving, as well as valuable life experience that was only made possible through serving. Been all over the globe, jumped out of a ton of airplanes, had a little pew pew Afghanistan action, and met some of the most interesting and influential people from all around the world. I always try to imagine where I would be if I had never elected to serve. Even with the extreme mental stress and physical abuse that sometimes (most times, let's be real) came with the title of Airborne Infantryman, I wouldn't change it for a thing. Thank you to all the 1 percenters who signed on that dotted line. Even you POGS :) Much love.

Everyone I have ever known that has been forced out of the military or left under unfavorable circumstances always has a story and according to them it has always been that their chain of command hated them. One guy I knew from my days in the dorms got kicked out, according to him his leadership had always hated him and always had it out for him, here is this wonderful airman’s record. Failed a supervisor room inspection, was informed that the flight chief would reinspect it in a week. Failed that room inspection so a week later the first sergeant inspected it, failed that room inspection so the commander inspected his room and he failed that inspection as well. Failed a PT and then failed the retest, then less than a year later failed another test before managing to barely pass a test. Got PCS orders and his leadership made changes to his work schedule so he could go to his out processing appointments, during the times he was supposed to be at appointments he would go to his dorm room to play Xbox, sleep and hang out at the smoke pit. But to this day he insists that his leadership just hated him for no reason. Seems like this former sailor has the same issue.

I was active duty Navy from 2001 to 2005. I was stuck in a job that I hated, and I worked for people I didn't like. They didn't like me either. At the time it felt like I was in hell. I showed up on time everyday, and did what I was told. At the end of my enlistment, I was given the honorable discharge that I earned. I left the Navy and went on the things that were better for me. It wasn't hell all of the time, and the people I met weren't all bad. I said I would do it for four years, and I did what I said I would do. To boot, I also traveled all over the world, so there's that. Just do that damn thing. It's really not that damn hard.

@@mattkennedy6115 I thought I'd come back and add here that I joined the Navy as a high school drop out, and got on a plane with nothing to my name but the clothes I was wearing, and a backpack that the Navy gave me. In that backpack was a sweater that the Navy gave me, and nothing else. While deployed, I saw Italy, England, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Dubai, Bahrain, and Crete. Today I make over 100k a year, and own a very nice house in a very nice neighborhood. I wasn't there to see what this girl went through but I highly doubt it was any more difficult than my enlistment. The more I think about her whining, cry baby, bull shit the more it pisses me off. My Navy is better off without this person who will likely be on wic in a one bedroom apartment in Portsmouth five years from now.

My understanding was that the Navy didn't even test all the samples. They would randomly test a sample from the entire command who had been tested and if they found a positive, they'd test all of em. They could go back in the archives if a troop was suspicious. This seemed to be true as one of my classmates who had not been recently tested was separated for marajuana.

I was active duty Marines for almost 7 years (extended on my original contract for 1.5 years for a special duty assignment). I left because as much as I thought being a Marine was badass, I wasn't necessarily what the Marine Corps wanted. My mentality was many times at odds with the Marine Corps but I still did what I was told and did my duty just like everyone else. The problem wasn't the Marine Corps, the problem was me. The Marine Corps is the way it is for a reason and people who have served far longer, had far more experience, and had tons of more responsibility than me made policies and decisions they saw fit to implement. Sometimes they were good, sometimes not. At the end of the day no one owed me anything and if I saw that everywhere I went there were problems, I was the common denominator. Not my fellow marines, leadership, duty station, MOS, or the Marine Corps, it was me. This girl needs to grow up.

I am on the path to bootcamp and have been browsing content on youtube for insight to help prepare and orient myself on what to expect. When I found her channel I browsed through a few of her videos and wondered if she actually was getting by with her perspective/character well enough. I see that is not the case and find relief in knowing this outward attitude is not tolerated. I was kinda scared to encounter more people that resonate with Ashley's mentality. May she find her purpose elsewhere by the grace of God.

it’s lowkey easy to get out of the navy. There’s been a couple sailors on my ship that “couldn’t adapt” and was separated within like 2-3 months also I don’t know how other ships do their urinalysis but for the most part it is random but there’s people at my command that get put on multiple times in a row, especially if you get into trouble and they suspect you of doing drugs/ your test comes back a little sketchy.
I’m not sure if you’ve been on a ship or not but some of the things you’re saying is inaccurate. I’m not in anyway taking up for this girl bc ofc she’s not the best representation of what the navy stands for but in the same light, you gotta do more research lol. Loved the video tho. Content is still 10/10 lol

It's always difficult when you want to validate every struggle that each of your Sailors are going through, but sometimes you just need to give a hard truth and tell them to "suck it up". I've had a Sailor who continuously needed to see medical/Chaps/mental health for whatever reason (and that's perfectly okay), but I can assure you it was NOT because of the Navy. We had it so her only duty was to show up to work/duty on time, focus on studying for her qualifications, and on average she was out on liberty by 1500. Sometimes no matter what you do Sailors will have underlying pains and issues that you can't "cure". As much as you want to help, the military does not have the time nor the resources to focus 100% of their time on someone who won't get with the program.
