  • Despite limited resources and lack of opportunities, Paul Rabil shows that to become one of the best Lacrosse players in the world, you have to get creative with the environment around you.
    See how to turn your surroundings into your own personal training ground and why that lack of resources can be an advantage.

    I just started lacrosse this year, and it is the best sport I have ever played. When I told my friends about it some looked at me blankly like they didn't know what I was talking about. Lacrosse is growing fast, but it needs to grow faster. Lacrosse is life. Also for my first time ever playing I did pretty good. My team won a round robin championship, and I made the game winning shot in overtime. I think this gopro video will give lacrosse the little boost it needs.

      NicoAndGopro for a class project , i mapped out how quickly lacrosse was growing alongside football and american football . if the rates of growth stayed the same ( which is impossible , but for an idea , imagine it was ) it would pass football ( soccer ) in 2056 or so , but those numbers have now dated , because i did the math 2 years ago .

      NicoAndGopro its a game that allows hard work to pay off big. Love to see the growth in this game. Heres a gem that the great Jack Emmer gave me at a recruiting meet in 1972, "work on your weakness your strength will take care of itself"

      I have to agree , i usually play longstick D , but there is little you can do to stop a ball traveling anywhere from 60 to 100 mph coming at you . Multiple times i have been whacked and shot on , but only 5 or times per season , but they do it every practice and every game .

    I remember a little before my first game this video came out. My Buddy told me to watch this video to hype me up. Fast forward to present time, I'm a starting attack for an 8th grade team, but I also play a lot of middie. I have the most goals anyone on my team has had in their whole career, and I'm beating that same buddy that showed me this video by 16 goals. The point I'm trying to make is that this video changed my life and I would not be the same player without this.

      I'm. A baseball player and I saw this... Still playing ball and always will no other sport attracts me more than baseball and I'm sure I could play lacrosse and be successful at it, every sport I have played I was able to get good enough to be considered good, you could make a video like this in baseball about how mentally tough it is and how one little mistake can cost the game. Yeah I'm not a fan of lacrosse because I'm a die hard fan of baseball but I still respect the players... Well some of them as I can see that some of the other guys that replied have some problem with baseball and I don't respect those tho of lacrosse guys.

    • @diegojuarez272
      @diegojuarez272 7 лет назад

      Javon Hairston keep pushing, whenever ur bored or have nothing to do. Do whatever it takes to makes your game stronger and faster. Whether it's wall ball or simply walking around with your stick and switching hands. But what can improve your game a lot is what ball with your off hand. This can change the way you play dramatically, not only getting better at catching and throwing but having a smother release and a little improvement to shooting. And for your team, do...not....be...shy. Maybe after your game, your coach is done talking. Raise your hand and say something like "i have something to say" and then of course say whatever u want. Encouraging your teammates gives them a confidence boost about 80%. But don't sweet talk them, get loud and angry with them and get their blood pumping. Hoped this helped

    Why does the goalkeeper haven't better protection?

    • @frictionaddict
      @frictionaddict 9 лет назад +3

      Arthur Annone TheSkilledKids The goalkeeper in this video isn't wearing a chest protector probably because it is just a pick up game. But, me personally as a goalie I hate shin guards or leg protection. It gets too hot and I feel more comfortable without it.

      Yeah it remindeds me of my favourite hurling. Take away the net on the stick, keep the physicality, bigger goal and pitch. Few small changes and your not far off at all.

    "is that your indoor stick?" what is the difference?

    • @Roughneckman45
      @Roughneckman45 9 лет назад +2

      It basically the same as ice hockey and road hockey. But lacrosse it is indoor and outdoor. So you don't want to use your ice hockey stick outside because you will wreck it.

    • @casper4922
      @casper4922 9 лет назад +2

      LaxMan1010 hmmm i dont see the point for bringing different sticks at lacrosse

    • @Roughneckman45
      @Roughneckman45 9 лет назад

      casper ou If it rains you indoor stick is screwed. But your outdoor stick would maybe have waterproof mesh.

    • @phopkins06
      @phopkins06 9 лет назад +14

      casper ou an indoor stick often has a different pocket for better hold, or an extreme pinch to the face of the head to protect the ball as it's an entirely different game. An outdoor stick may have different mesh types (water resistant) or shooter setups due to the larger scale of the field. There are many variables--but pros often play both games to keep loose all year round.
