This is ridiculously easy to tie. I tied up a few, some "unsinka" style with foam wrapped body and some with dubbing. What a great pattern! Thanks, Clark!
Curtis and/or Cheech. I am trying to start up my youtube channel again. I like your intro and was wondering how you created the intro. Thanks for your reply.
Gize Rock!! Like this pattern a lot but wondering about how well the flat piece of foam body is fastened to the fly? Seems like gluing foam on dubbing with only a tiedown in front may not be enough?? Not questioning your experience and skills, just asking for your opinion??
I thought the same thing. I tied up a few in black and I honestly think they'd work better than most of what I have. Too bad all the cicadas are gone in my neck of the woods (for the year)

That’s a rad little pattern. Really dig that rubber leg trick for the tail. Love these vids, learn something new everytime.
Such a cool looking pattern with that MFC photo foam. Another winner for sure!👍
Love this pattern
I like that foam bullet head!
Nice pattern. I agree, whip finishing with a whip finish tool is superior to a hand whip finish.
👍👍👍👍
Nice fly for this time of year. great job on tying it. nice hearing rooster crowing at the beginning.haha

It's a combo of a few people's work on the art and then a friend who's an animator brought it to life.

Peter Sansone yep. It stays on really well. We have actually been fishing this pattern for years.
Stoned Hopper !
Nice , two for the price of one ;-)
Could probably work well as cicada? Tied slightly broader...
Would be a decent imitation of a Katydid as well
