    Big fan of yours Darren, but for one bloke in a van this is simply pure laziness. In the time that you take to set it up your one or two plates and utensils could be washed, dried and put away. My advise to you is don't give your critics ammunition to beat you with.

    I love the fact that you have done this test. Certainly it sounds like a good idea to have a dishwasher. However all that faffing around. Hardly seems worth it. And it's not a good idea to leave your dishes for a couple of days which will only invite flies and other creatures. Fast simpler and more hygienic to just wash after you've eaten.
    But there's no taking away from the fact that it's a good machine.

    I feel like its the sort of thing you'll use a few dozen times if that then realize its more hassle than its worth.

    Try eco. It will either use less power or water. You could run the waste through a fine mesh sieve like the ones used to sift flour, and then bin the solids after each wash.

  • @sueb8270
    @sueb8270 12 дней назад

    I've got a very similar one in my small kitchen, it's great! I'm only one person, it's great to pop the stuff in as you use it until you've got enough for a full load 👍. I usually stop it before it goes into drying mode which is useless, dab a tea towel on the tops of mugs and glasses, then leave the door slightly open, the warmth dries them off. Plastic never dries in a dishwasher. Please do a test on the eco mode, I use that thinking it's saving money 🤔. Great video 👍

    Fair play Daz working the washer out. It's probably cheaper than you using your gas to heat up water, n wash by hand in the van. Ideal for you cuz you don't stay at campsite every day to use their facilities. It's a good vlog, and like us that have the job of always washing up, it's an idea to think about getting. Keep it up, be safe...and yes your book is brilliant thank full you wrote it. We've learned a lot. Be safe. Gary n Ellen x

    @NicholasGibbons-g4d 12 дней назад

    Mate that is so cool.
    I was thinking about getting one for my caravan and putting it in the awning.
    It would be interesting to see what the eco setting would use so please do a video. It uses less power on my dishwasher at home. Apparently it doesn’t heat the water so quickly to save on energy.
    As to the waste if you washed up in the bowl it would all end up in the tank.
    To get round it could you not have a drainer over the plug hole.
    If I get one I would just use another five ltr water bottle for the waste water to go in.
    Enjoy a lazy Sunday without washing up😂😂

  • @gavinnorthants
    @gavinnorthants 12 дней назад

    I've got that dishwasher in my rental flat, (well it's slightly different) but obviously from the same factory with a different door and control panel on it. I got it as it has a water tank built in meaning I do not need to drill holes in the worktop for the water fill, and the drain hose can just go in the sink. For just one person its grate. Forgot to mention I only use half a Tesco dishwasher tablet as it bubbles up too much and saves money. When I next do a wash I'll plug in my energy monitoring plug and let you know how much power it uses.

    • @gavinnorthants
      @gavinnorthants 11 дней назад

      I've measured the power usage with a power usage pass through plug and the dishwasher used 0.46KW/h. The max power draw was 834 watts. This was on a normal cycle which is called eco on my dishwasher.

    Good review, but mate 'KEEP THINGS SIMPLE'. You have added more weight to the camper and over complicated a process of cleaning a few items of cutlery/crockery that would take a few minutes to wash and dry by hand. Obviously you are well financed and supported doing this channel but I feel many full time van lifers would find this video ranging from humorous to outright madness.

    We had a dishwasher in 22 Signal Regiment, Germany that was about 15ft long or more ,,,, steam heaven .... and designed to clean the plates of a regiment of 500 men and worked by a conveyor belt on a par with with power of a automatic car wash.
    In spite of all this and giving the machine due credit for working well, it was the case that, especially after the breakfast sitting, you still needed two soldiers on "Fatigues" at the end of the conveyor belt to get the egg, especially the yoke off of some plates by hand. Again, it was a great machine overall.

    I was given a slimline dish washer second hand many year back. Being single you cannot store up enough dirty plates, pots and pans to make running the machine worth the effort.
    So you use your most useful frying pan and put in the washer. You have only a few items the rest of the day and the very next morning you want your frying pan back for breakfast. You withdraw it from the machine and handwash it in minutes. I predict within days you will find the pots and pans you use most will not make up a full load and you will be taking them back out of the machine and handwashing. You could of course by 7 pans and use the dishwasher once a week. Okay large families only. My best wishes to you in the meantime.

    Don't think the dishwasher is cost effective if you compare it over a year with washing in sink. If you use the dishwasher twice a week that's 520 ltrs of water a year alone, which is better utilised for shower use in my opinion. Take care Daz.

    A cool gadget but what about water usage. Also the extra weight your carrying. A kettle of hot water squirt of washing liquid, 15minutes and washing up done .

    I was going to put the Loch Capsual dishwasher in my van because specs and features on paper were ideal unfortunately the company were terrible to deal with so I ended up doing a charge back through my bank to get my money back and most of the honest reviews are pretty terrible. So I looked at your model but it's just physically too big fir me. But that aside I see no reason why not to use a dish washer if you have space and power for it

    Really? Use paper plates and cups if you hate cleaning up.
