Buffy is absolutely *iconic* No words can truly ever do her or SMG enough justice ❤ Probably my favorite Buffy, the character, moment (and the list is QUITE large) in the entire series. LOVE this episode.
“I always find a way. I’m the thing monsters have nightmares about.” This line right here encapsulates the difference between Buffy and Angel. Buffy is about overcoming fears and anxieties. Angel is about enduring hardship because the fight itself is the critical part. Not the win. Buffy teaches us that we can move past the traumas that hold us back. We can be greater than what we suffer. Angel teaches us that life has meaning in the rebellion against meaninglessness. You may not win, but the choice to fight is what defines who you are. This is why both shows need to be watched together. They are two halves of one whole message.
Probably top three episode in Season 7 for me but I'm heavily biased because this is one of my favorite episodes in the entire series. I personally have Season 7 pretty high in my rankings and episodes like this one are a reason why. Also are they not watching Angel? I thought they were doing so on their patreon.

Felicia Day (Vi) is one of the original web series creators and pioneered a lot of internet nerdom! 😃 She created and starred in the web series The Guild (and the Do you wanna date my avatar? video), she was the founder of the web company Geek & Sundry with content like Critical Role, Tabletop with Wil Wheaton, etc. Joss Whedon asked her advice before creating Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog and also cast her in a starring role there, and in The Cabin in the Woods. She's also had big acting roles in Eureka, Dollhouse, Supernatural, The Magicians. And she's a Twitch streamer, has several podcasts, has written several books about being an internet creator, and has done much more. 😅 She's like the queen of geeks! Netflix has her doing panel interviews (titled Unlocked on RUclips) for some of their most popular shows like Stranger Things, The Witcher and Sandman, and she does the official Rings of Power podcast for Prime.
Love Felicia Day and have been a fan ever since she was on Buffy!! Definitely surprised they didn't recognize and they absolutely should watch The Guild it's just too funny and if you've ever played an MMORPG extremely accurate lol
I was shocked that they didn't know who Felicia Day was. I'm not even a particularly big fan, but I thought everyone who was into internet nerd culture at all would know that!
Another great episode of Series 7, the total faith Spike has in Buffy ' she will come for me' as he is teased and tortured by the First Evil in Buffy's persona shows the total trust they now have in each other. Buffy proves the ultimate power of The Slayer in the fight with the Turok-Han, giving The Potentials demonstrable proof they can win.
I always lol at how the demon tells Anya to not let the door hit her on the way in. The door smacks her on the ass when she walks through 💀. Very subtle but funny.
« See? Dust. Just like the rest of them » somehow is one of the lines that stuck with me all these years. It can be used to any fear or obstacle you face during your journey
Honestly, this is the episode where I started to not hate Andrew as much. When he had the right response to Buffy's Mad Max reference, I had to ask myself "Do I like Andrew?"
The remastered version changed ratio so yeah, some bits you hear voices but no lip movement, there's also visible boom mics, set ends etc. as well as horrendous colour balancing and zooms, really the should have worked on film quality and left the ratio, it's an old show and adds to the nostalgia.
Yeah, I can’t believe they did such a crappy transfer job on a series that was so foundational. They’ve done far better jobs on far, far worse series. I find it pretty disrespectful.
I think The First is taking advantage of the fact that Buffy died twice, not just the last time. It appeared to Angel in the 3rd season, not too long after she died the first time and started a second slayer line. I don't think that's a coincidence, I think it was attempting something then. Or at least planning. Then she died and lived again, in a much bigger and more significant way. That probably caused a big enough disturbance that The First was able to start putting in motion any larger plans it had been making.
It basically was saying that from the very first time Buffy was resurrected and she triggered the call of a second slayer it opened the gate for the first so it’s been a long time coming
And now you know the final plotline for S7: Buffy's return to life and the splitting of the Slayer line opened the door for the First. As long as there was only one Slayer, it was stuck in neutral...but with Kendra and then Faith in the mix, there have been two Slayers...allowing the First to start acting directly, building an army, and eventually acting once its plans were complete. The million dollar question for the season...is how do you defeat an incorporeal being and its horde of minions while trying to guard a cluster of teenage potential slayers who have no actual powers? I loved S7...so as you unravel all this and watch it unfold...I'll be enjoying the reactions
Y'all need to learn your history. Felicia Day was a pioneer in internet television. She's a big part of why channel's like yours live and thrive on youtube
One of the potential slayers was portrayed by the woman who portrayed the second Kristen Baxter on Last Man Standing(seasons 2 through 9). Her name escapes me.
The dude said "there are 8 people on the couch." The figurines aren't on the couch, they're on the table. There are 6 adults (more or less) on the couch. Therefore there are two possibilities - twin babies, or someone can't count. 😅
This is the moment where Buffy goes from doubting her being a leader and is taking steps to becoming one. That's why she used the line ole Head Watcher dude once told her "here endeth the lesson". So in a way, she's also rebuilding the Watcher program.
the Blade trilogy is decent and Wes Snipes was perfect in that role he made it his own. The 1st and 2nd are good movies, 3 is just okay but ryan renolds plays himself so its like deadpool and Blade, just before Deadpool was mainstream... Its funny more than scary though.
Now that this episode happened here is a fun fact. Since season 6 the openning does not end with Buffy anymorr like from seasons 1 to 5. Last one was Buffybot and this one is the first. This basically brings the message that her story was indeed over. Death was her reward. She wasnt meant to come back. If she stayed dead willow would be able to protect the gang and might not cross the line, or cross enough to still be brought back. Doing the ressurection spell was the final straw. So yeah, Buffys jouney was over and the world would be better without her, season 6 and 7 are all consequences of her return
I find it funny how they were so quick to forget what willow did to Anya and dawn. But anytime Andrew say something everybody on the couch stfu I guess we pick and choose who we forgive even if my best friend was trying to kill my sister and friend
I myself honestly don't get why Buffy's return opened the door for the First. I feel like the "kill all the potentials and then kill the slayer so the line ends" plan could still have worked if there was only one slayer instead of two.
I think someone explained that after Buffy changed networks the cameras were different (or something along the lines of that). That's why the look of the show changed. Budget probably got lowered because the crew and actors are getting higher pay compared to earlier seasons.

Here is my own personal Head-cannon It is not bringing Buffy back that is the issue, it is bringing Buffy back and inserting Buffy back into the Slayer line that is the issue. Remember Willow brought back "The Warrior of her people" as Willow stated herself *“In every generation, there is a chosen one. She alone will stand against the vampires the demons and the forces of darkness. This means from this point forward, there will always be two slayers. I have nothing to back that up, I watched this in its original run and fortunately had only lthe imited internet of that time, so I could enjoy this fully without all the complaining, I now find occurred during that time.
