5:24 unfortunately coral doesn't actually sit on trapdoors like that in bedrock. it dies and then breaks. any alternative methods to get that floating flower effect?

Try changing the trap door to the slab.
Perhaps the coral will not die.

I had this same issue, I’m building in creative though for reference. If you’re also having this issue in creative, try taking the red stone torches out from underneath the pistons and just doing the red stone powder all the way around like they show in the video, it worked for me that way! Hope it helps!
