      Do you know that in ChromaWeb there is an indication on which formula is being used most common? Search on Quality (Cromax® Pro Basecoat), Manufacturer (Mazda) & Colour code (46G). You will see all available formula's with the most common used on the top. If you look at column 5 you will see "Used %" and column 6 the region of development.

    Tony I am having some issues with my blender 2091. Everywhere I put blender it looks dirty very nibby. It does not look nibby in my basecoat on the repairs. The 2091 is drying down pretty smooth and with just a touch of extra clear the jobs are acceptable.This does not happen with 2093. Why is this and what can I do to stop it. I have tried straining the blender and using different controller configurations.

      As you know by heart it is important to degrease and tack rag before starting any work. What wouldn't harm and is even helpful also on non-plastic parts is using a stat-gun. Did you also check you use the right mixing lid (binders only)? Otherwise there is a change of material breakdown.

    Does activate or harden the ground colour means one has to add hardener to the basecoat even if it is 1k and is it necessary to spray the clear blender

    • @CromaxEMEA
      @CromaxEMEA  2 года назад +1

      Hi, thanks for viewing and taking the time to ask questions. Yes you have to activate the groundcoat colour which is a basecoat in this repair system. This is to provide a stable surface over which to apply your effect or intermediate coat. This improves the application properties of the effect/intermediate coat by preventing absorption into th egroundcoat. The blender is necessary to help achieve a smooth uniform transition of the effect colour.

    How my effect coats did you do? I was to to do the 2 1/2 coats on it?

    • @CromaxEMEA
      @CromaxEMEA  3 года назад +1

      In this case we used an additional effect coat to stretch and complete the blend.

    Hey, nice job! What is the color code you used from the cromax catalog?

    • @CromaxEMEA
      @CromaxEMEA  3 года назад +1

      As part of the repair process we measured the car using the Croma Vision Pro to establish the best match based on LAB data. As part of the process the software automatically checks the measurement against the database and shades the colour to a more precise match.
      With these multi-layer finishes though it is essential to produce a series of sprayouts with different numbers of layers of the intermediate colour to assess how many are needed for an accurate match. After application and drying assess these against the car in good light to select the best matching formula/process.

      Thanks very much for taking the time out to reply. I have so much issues getting this color right...I have used the cromax scanner, however it doesn't get me a match. Try to adjust but it very time consuming. For blending it is ok but single part like bumper is the problem.

      I'm afraid that with this colour there are no shortcuts given the wide variety and differences in colour out there from vehicle to vehicle. All I can add is that you keep the colour samples you have produced, lable them accurately and hopefully you will be able to reuse one or the other again at some point.

    what gun tip you recommend for this color

    • @CromaxEMEA
      @CromaxEMEA  Год назад

      Hi, thanks for taking the time to get in touch. In normal circumstances I would take a 1.2 set up. If conditions are more challenging i.e. you may want to change to a 1.3 but be careful as this could lead to over application of the effect layer which of course you need to avoid.

    why dont you want full hiding on that color? does it cxhange the color if you achive the full hiding on the 46g?

    • @CromaxEMEA
      @CromaxEMEA  2 года назад

      The colour fomulation of Mazda 46G is set up as tricoat colour. The mid coat/effect coat has to be applied in a transparent layer in order to achive the right effect.

      Hi, thanks for asking. Where I said you don't have to use the blender I was referring to the application and blending of the groundcoat colour as it is in the case a black. I used the blender though for blending the actual colour layer itself.
