Thank-you for making this. Always good to see the original Rock Island in either maroon or red. I put it right up there with the MKT and the Frisco. I loved watching this. Hope ya do more in the near future.
Oh the Rock Island line is a mighty good road, Rock Island line is the road to ride, the Rock Island line is a mighty good road but if you want to ride you got to ride it like you find it get your ticket at the station for the Rock Island line!
Thanks! Well, same reason there's a Dash 9 and a 1990's era Ford pickup truck. On a layout set in pretty much any era, it's hard to make everything specific to one time frame. So we do the best we can with what we have.
Railfan Jason No problem! Really enjoyed it! That was an awesome operating session. Those geeps look and sound fantastic. Glad I subbed this channel! Thanks for sharing and happy modeling.
I saw the rock in operation in 1977-78. friendly people. I wanted to shoot more but we didnt have the time. I vividly remember 4 u-boats smoking it up as they were leaving burr oak on a west bound. in the roundhouse were a E7,GP7 and a F7 in UP yellow paint, all 3 with noses facing out. I made it back to burr oak 2 months after the closing and everything was gone.
No idea. I like to think of it as jealousy. :D Seriously though, I have no idea. It would actually be helpful if they left a reason in the comments. It could be something I might be able to change and make improvements on. As it is, a thumbs down doesn't do anyone any good.
Either you had a picture of the units you painted cause my info show never was a GP35 with Speed lettering and the positioning of older lettering on the GP9 is too far back or it should have had a hearld on cab no lettering with yellow nose and tail, other than that great video.
Really great video! I could watch it over and over again, quite realistic....
Keep up the great work!
Fantastic layout.....!

Well done video, great looking layout. Car weathering some of the most realistic I've ever seen.
I love the ground scenery, the dirt and especially the green and the shrubs. A great inspiration for my layout.
Superb video! How I wish that I had the skills of the cameraman! Great switching action for sure. Your videos are spectacular period!
Thanks! I'm the one with the camera, appreciate it! Glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for posting, really enjoy a couple of Geeps doing some realistic switching :)
Great camera work. With the speed to scale mph and the realism it relates to guided meditation.
Great ops Session, enjoyed watching the switching and the reverse maneuvers.
Glad you enjoyed the show, thanks for watching.
Excellent model, excellent videography!

The reason I heard it was from a series of history channel documentaries, but I've never found that version, ever.
Great video, its making me even more excited to join my local club, the Northwest Crossing, this week!!!!
Thanks, clubs are fun, hope it all works out for you.
Nice yarding work.
Yeah, Ron is pretty good at this. Thanks for watching.
Very nice loco lovely sound !
Nice video, great weathering job on the rolling stock nothing is over the top very realistic.
Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, Ron does a great job of weathering.
Simply awesome!
Just love that Brown/ amber color sceme. That R/R.
Loved the video, so realistic!! I noticed the blue ROCK car was patched out, why when the RI was still operating here.
Thanks! Well, same reason there's a Dash 9 and a 1990's era Ford pickup truck. On a layout set in pretty much any era, it's hard to make everything specific to one time frame. So we do the best we can with what we have.
Really nice work Thank you..
Appreciate it. Glad you enjoyed the show.
Great track detailing and weathering on the locos etc. It's only the fact that the people figures don't move that makes it a model!
Model the MOPAC but certainly like the maroon and yellow Rock Island paint scheme.
Nice weathering on the power units. Almost to clean for the "RI". lol.
I can't take credit for the weathering or the locos, they belong to another member. Just think of them as having recently been cleaned. :D
Awesome video!
Thanks!

Jason, Just found this, love the speed at which the switching occurs. Too often the speed of switching is at mainline speed.

Great video!
Thanks!
I thought the italicized "ROCK ISLAND" lettering on the locomotives was only on the cherry red models. Is that true?
Nope. It debuted on the maroon and yellow.
Get the great circus train cars and pull the circus train with these engines shown

Ok, enough bell.
i don't understand the negative dislikes either. i think this is great all the way around. where is this layout at?
Thanks. The club is in Odessa, MO. It's about 37 miles due east of Kansas City on I-70.
