Pay off your card before the statement closing date. This is what reports to the credit reporting agencies, not the balance when you pay on the due date.

She is wrong about the store card 10 years ago with a $700 balance. That means you didn’t pay your card. So it should’ve dropped off in seven years without you paying it

How about having an emergency fund? So if something goes wrong, you don't have to use your credit card? That's a whole new concept huh?

Keep your balance below 8% when statement closes then pay that 8% balance before due date. I believe that’s the sweet number.

What she should have said was make payments before your statement closing date. That is when the credit card company reports to the credit bureaus.

A credit score is what they convince us we need. Credit score equals debt. I'm punished for not having debt . It's so backwards. I can't get approved for anything because I don't have debt.

@TODAY Consumer Credit scores should only be based off of payment history and ability to make agreed upon financial stressor payments.

The only way to have a high credit score is to use debt. People with an 800 score have paid $10’s thousands in interest!

Use credit cards to purchase things that you would normally buy. Pay the entire balance before the due date. No interest paid.

The Higher the Score, the Higher the Debt. A high Credit score does not mean you are good with money; it means you are good at being in DEBT.

Poor information... my number is really good. And credit card companies still won't give better interest rates. Same with car loans.
