Everything you did was very properly done and that is why I am surprised that you purposely overfilled the oil capacity by 20%. Why would you deviate from factory specs? Since the motor most likely doesn't use oil, although overfilling may cause the start of oil consumption, it is running overfilled til next oil change. The term "max" means what it says.

Its every sturdy and durable. Doesn't slip or slide. The awesome thing about these ramps is that it has a divot at the front for tire stops to ensure that your vehicle is properly positioned on the ramp. ALSO, feature hollow honeycomb channels to prevent moisture from building up

Why did you remove the oil filter first instead of the plug?

    • @andy_w0ng
      @andy_w0ng  4 месяца назад +1

      that's a GREAT question Alex.
As a former car mechanic (and its just my preference). It is less messier to deal with if you replaced the oil filter first.
      1. You don't have to worry about dropping the oil filter into a pan full of used oil and have to fish it out later
      2. SPLASH prevention
      3. don't have to move around a pan full of oil and causing spills/mess to clean up later.
and LAST, you don't have oil dripping from the drain plug side while removing and installing new oil filter
we all know, accidents happens. BELIEVE me. I made many of those in the past lol.
hope that answers your question Alex and thank for the great question.

i had a local vinyl wrap shop applied that onto my aero kit 😅. It was about $200.
i'm not sure how much it would cost at your local vinyl shop. I wouldn't think it would be too much of a cost.
after watching how it was applied, this could had been a manageable DIY for me but i don't have all the right tools.
They had to take apart the front splitter, side aero kit and rear diffuser and thoroughly clean it before applying the wrap.
It was more of a Red-ish Orange color.
I hope this helps my friend 😅

      hey Digi20.
that is a great question and thank you for the like and comment.
not many people wonder about that and sorry for the late response
you can tighten these nine bolts in a few different ways.
      1. air ratchet
      2. battery operated ratchet (as seen used in this video)
      3. manually.
so, with that said, if you're planning to use method 1 & 2, make sure its a 3/8 ratchet. You won't need to worry about torque specifics. Those power tools will give enough torque to secure all 9 bolts. With power tools, you can zip by them so fast and possibly miss one or two. Thats why i go over each bolt to ensure they are ALL FASTENED and i did MISS ONE lol
IF you're going to be using method #3, which will be a hand held ratchet, the torque specification will be 24 - 28 ft/lbs (or 32.5 Nm - 38Nm)
IF you don't have a torque ratchet, you can apply roughly 10-15 degree turn rule (or 1/16th of a turn) after those bolts are fastened. That should apply close enough torque with that method.
Same method i used for the oil drain plug @ frame 08:59.
      Hope that answers your question.

DUDE! IT IS AMAZING!!! Me personally, ITS WORTH IT!
If you don't mind the hassle of raisingg the front end and removing the entire front bumper to install it and running the wires and control switch into your Miata.
I opted for the regular cool blue instead of the cool blue and yellow.
I did film my process of removal and installation. But never got the chance to edit the videos to post it.
Now that you asked, i'll do my best to have it edited and post it someday soon!
There are two videos i would suggest to watch so you can get an idea what the level of installation is like. I would say it's MEDIUM. Nothing too hard.
It took me 2 - 3 hours to complete. I was a automotive mechanic in the past for 15yrs and had all the tools to do the installation, so...with that said, this wasn't too bad for me.
I would suggest to watch these two videos. One by @driveMX5 (drivemx5.com). His tutorial is just the regular grill w/o the fog lights. BUT VERY VERY HELPFUL in installation guide. He's also a Miata fanatic!
      Video 1:
      ruclips.net/video/bussz-hSrME/видео.html
the other one is by @carbonmiata2012
I think this is the company that made the grill with the fog lights. In there video, its more of like a timelapse of ther installation including running wire harness but not as in full detailed of how to remove and instal the grill.
      ruclips.net/video/NxX11o8sujQ/видео.html
Hope my response help and along with those two videos.

People are going bananas over little overfill!! A 1/2 quart is 2 cups of oil. People are so scared to deviate from the manual, even when we are dealing with 2 cups of liquid. lol. Do you know how little 2 cups of liquid is? Its nothing. In no sane world would that little of an overfill hurt an engine.
I bought a 2015 car in 2018, so it was a 3 year old car when I got it. When I first checked the oil, the dipstick measured like a good inch over the MAX line! When I did the first oil change, and put exactly what the manual said, the oil measured to the half way point on the hash marks. So in other words, I would say the oil was a full quart over! No biggie. Now when I do the oil change, I bring the oil line right to the MAX line, so its "overfilled" about a 1/4 of a quart. Someone was overfilling by a while quart for 3 years, 50k miles. The car runs perfect to this day. It didnt break anything.

@@adamsteele6148 , Ive had no issues for 50 years so far. Not one. I dont purposely overfill, but I dont measure either when I have added oil to some old beater cars I used to have. So there had to have been some times I overfilled. No biggie. I even had a 2004 Toyota Corolla back in the day, and after the car was 5 years old, they issued a recall of some sort where a new dipstick was installed. Toyota said the new dipstick is to measure the new oil amount they want you to put in, which was an extra half quart. Engines have more capacity that what the manual says, and that recall proved it.
My current daily driver calls for 4.25 quarts, but 4.6 brings the oil right to the MAX line, so thats what I put in. I hate when certain car brands have their oil amount spec bring the line only half way on the hash mark! Thats makes it confusing and harder to monitor if the engine is burning some oil .
