People will really get mad at a player for a clean hit and the way he plays. Tkachuk plays the game of hockey. Good for him. Quit wheeping like a pussy. That’s why hockey is getting soft, cause of losers like yourself. Go play tennis if u want.
Put down the pipe, and put your glasses on, or you have never seen a hit before, he goes up in the air from the impact, and did not leave his feet before, it's interference because the hit was like a 1/10 of a second before he would have touched the puck.
Not playing the playing the puck has never been grounds for a penalty. Leaving your feet AFTER contact is made is not a penalty. Watching the replay a second time it does look like nico touches the puck so I'd say interference is out (refs did call this but they don't get the benefit of a replay unless they call a major). Not a Tkachuk fan but realistically the only thing you've got here is potentially a high hit, which you could call. I keep seeing comments of fans outraged by hits on players they like but not understanding the actual rules. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong
He makes contact before he leaves his feet, so no to that one. Targets high, not really point of contact is chest because he keeps his arms down. Charging, maybe, but it is really close. Interference it is not, not even close. Roughing? its a hit and is over in a blink so its not roughing.
0:10 Playing it at 25% speed, he clearly elevates his body before the hit, and his feet are leaving the ice a foot or two away from making contact. He also made significant contact with Hischier's head. This is a clear charging infraction and should be reviewed by the league. Those claiming his feet left the ice BECAUSE of the hit are choosing to not take a close and critical look at the play, and are choosing to NOT think rationally about the physics involved. Tkachuk's body was upright through the entire hit and his legs straightened THROUGH the hit. The laws of physics are simple; every action has an equal and opposite reaction. If Tkachuk's feet went up and his legs straightened, something had to go down. As this happens before the hit, the thing that went down was the force of his leg muscles through his skates and into the ice. For this upwards motion to be a result of the hit and not Tkachuk leaping into the hit, the downward force would have to be Hischier doing the same but transferring his motion into Tkachik's body. As the hit occurred, Hischer's legs were bent as he was playing the puck and not focused on Tkachuk.
The fact that you have to slow down the hit to 0.25 this absolutely already admitting defeat. He just lives rent free in your head, not sure your age but in my days that is not only legal but there wouldn't even be a fight. By the way that was a legal hit

What's wrong with your head, Mike? One too many shots to it? This was a clean hit. You can hate a player and still admit when they lay the lumber hard little boy
@ that is an odd turn of a phrase, " lay the lumber hard " considering you are trying to argue it was a clean hit. laying the lumber hard is a penalty, as in slashing or high sticking. as usual with MT, he takes what could have been a legal hit and crosses the line. he didn't have to leave his feet to flatten the guy.
That didn’t look like a clean hit. His legs left the ice and 2ndly, he hit is while much of the other player was to his back. Mathew needs to learn a thing or two on how clean hits are executed from Ovi. No wonder, when Ovi hits there is rarely a fight because his hits are as clean as they get in NHL.
@@surudog4929 Looks clean to me and I am not a fan of either team. Yes he leaves his feet but it was after the point of contact which is allowed. He also hits him pretty square in the chest not to his back. It was a big, hard hit but I don't think it was a dirty hit. I love seeing teammates sticking up for each other. So I am all for the Devils players showing some fight especially since that hit was on their captain.
Fla fan here. I’m o.k. With the interference call. Maybe the puck barely youches his stick here. That being said, I still like play. Stirs thing up. Sets a tone. This is why I love the game.
Maybe the puck barely touches his stick here? That's a clear indication of PLAYING THE PUCK, by definition, is not an interference. He got the penalty because hes Tkachuck.
Is far as I can remember, I havent played pro in couple years, the rule is in control of the puck. You can argue both ways here. Thats why I am fine with the call.
@dave3823 your clearly a Panthers fan I'm neither this just came up on my feed but in case you were wondering when a player has both feet leave the ice when hitting it's considered charging you clown so maybe you need to learn the rules you ignorant little b*tch
@bryancook6646 can still be considered a jumping motion depends on the ref and the tkachuks are the dirtiest players in the game anyway they ride the lines as much as they can in hopes of getting dirty shots in
Rule 7.4 - Charging Charging is when a player: 1. Jumps to check an opponent. 2. Builds up speed by taking two or more strides immediately prior to making contact. 3. Travels an excessive distance with the sole purpose of delivering such a hit. If he just took one stride and glided it would have be absolutely fine but instead he crosses off number 2 so it should’ve another minor
I don’t think it’s a charge , I probably would have given an elbow on Matt. Just saying I’ve seen worse charges that don’t get called. I would have had off setting penalties. If anything NJ might have gotten the extra ?
That's a weird call. Hischier was literally touching the puck while Tkachuk made the hit. Hischier even dropped the gloves and didn't get even a 2? What the hek. Should have been 2min for Tkachuk, 2 min for devils number 71 and 2min for Hischier and powerplay for Cats
the refs have been known to send a message to players or teams through uneven calls. if that were happening here, i would think that message to MT was to knock it off or you're going to be sitting all night.
@@Mike___Honcho knock off the clean hits? what message could they be sending? if you land another clean hit against the team I have money on ill give you a 10 and a game? or maybe, I don't like the fact that Florida has 2 teams that have won the cup so I just going to make shit up against them. i really want to know what message is send for giving 4 mins to a player who landed a clean hit then got jumped for it by 2 players...
@ the referee and the devils players unanimously thought that MT had done something wrong here. they are the best in the world at what they do, and they all felt that MT delivered a hit worth a penalty or some extra response. they have all been involved with hockey for their entire lives, maybe 20 years or more, yet, justin knows best ! justin, you are entitled tp your opinion, but it is just a spectacular coincidence that almost every hockey fan in florida doesn't know squat about hockey. it's OK. you probably never skated in your life and a you learned your hockey from florida announcers, who have to dumb it down for you guys. you think you know what you are talking about, but you don't.
@Mike___Honcho i played in the ECHL. But I'm sure an armchair pro like yourself knows more. What level did you make it to peewee? And you're right, NHL, ref have never gotten it wrong, right? There has never been a video review that has ever overturned a call, right? I know it's difficult, but try to pull your head out of your ass and watch the replay. Neither ref was watching the hit. The near ref was turning, and the far ref doesn't watch the play close to the near ref. But using the reaction of the opposing team as proof just shows how incredibly stupid you are, as if no team has ever embellished to get a call. Do you even watch hockey? The refs called a penalty because they thought something was bad yet ignored one of the two players that jumped Tkachuk.. Austin Matthews was born in AZ, guess he doesn't know anything about hockey because of where he's from right? Shane Gobsibare was born in Florida, guess he doesn't know anything either. @@flyingdin1164there was no elbow and the puck was right there. I don’t understand how that was interference. I like both of these teams, but to me, the interference call is BS. He wasn’t chasing the puck, the puck was there at the moment of the hit.
@@BrandonSkulski That is how bad the refs were.
@@flyingdin1164 yawn
Can you show the mathieu Olivier hit on sanheim?
As a duck fan... I really miss this type of hockey
if it involves MT it is bush league dirty hockey by default. his motto is " why hit a guy clean when you can injure him ? "
@Mike___Honcho it was a clean hit! you taking this hit like it was done to Havlat.
What's wrong with your head, Mike? One too many shots to it? This was a clean hit. You can hate a player and still admit when they lay the lumber hard little boy
@ the referee, employed by the NHL, seems to differ with your expert opinion.
Clean clean clean clean. I can’t believe its even being argued.
Good hit. As a Devils fan, I’m just happy we’re showing some emotion by fighting back; not letting guys walk all over us.
That didn’t look like a clean hit. His legs left the ice and 2ndly, he hit is while much of the other player was to his back.
Mathew needs to learn a thing or two on how clean hits are executed from Ovi.
No wonder, when Ovi hits there is rarely a fight because his hits are as clean as they get in NHL.
watch his elbows right to the head
not clean at all
@@surudog4929 Looks clean to me and I am not a fan of either team.
@surudog4929 you don't understand hockey lol.
@@matthewbaran7355 he got the penality because he plays for florida, if he were wearing NJ jersey and did that to Barkov he would get anything.
Is far as I can remember, I havent played pro in couple years, the rule is in control of the puck. You can argue both ways here. Thats why I am fine with the call.
Why wasn't Hishier assessed a Game Misconduct for Third-Man-In?
Is anyone surprised that they got the call wrong.
Both his feet left the ice how is that a clean hit
Because we know the rules unlike you.
@dave3823 your clearly a Panthers fan I'm neither this just came up on my feed but in case you were wondering when a player has both feet leave the ice when hitting it's considered charging you clown so maybe you need to learn the rules you ignorant little b*tch
Watch the replay, they leave the ice after the contact is made.
not to mention the clearly intention shoulder straight to the head. The hit clearly looks awkward/different than a normal shoulder check.
@bryancook6646 can still be considered a jumping motion depends on the ref and the tkachuks are the dirtiest players in the game anyway they ride the lines as much as they can in hopes of getting dirty shots in
Rule 7.4 - Charging
Charging is when a player:
I want to see the Devils goalie jumping in the scrum too and hope the Panthers goalie fights with the Devils goalie.
Oof.. Bobrovsky would get throttled by Markstrom
Bobrovsky wasn’t in the net. Knight was
all I want in life is a goalie fight
Nico was set up like a bowling pin. STRIKE!
That’s a charge on Tkachuk and there should’ve been at least two Devils in for Roughing there.
Interference is a wild call to make there.
Its not a charge, its an open ice clean hit. Geezus, so many people think clean hits are bad now... clueless
@@milktobo7418 you are clueless. Rules and focus have changed in the past 25 years - this isn't gladiators in the coliseum anymore. Grow up
I don’t think it’s a charge , I probably would have given an elbow on Matt. Just saying I’ve seen worse charges that don’t get called.
I would have had off setting penalties. If anything NJ might have gotten the extra ?
@crampdstyl1 you're balless and clueless.
A clean hit and 2 ghey devils jump him with no penalty.
The nhl was never intended to be soccer.
@@crampdstyl1 you can leave your feet because of contact, which is what happened.
tkachuk is always taking cheap shots and then cowarding out. someone needs to put him out for the season
Like father like sons...
His dad would actually drop the gloves
Please do yourself a favor and stop while you're behind.
And he wonders why people try and end his career
Hate him or love him Matthew Tkachuk makes hockey more intresting
Love it!
Hardly
Gotta love this announcer trying to justify the hit
Great, two guys in my slumping hockey pool going at it.
100% legal. NHL needs to grow a pair
So jumping in a elbow is ok
Hockey is the greatest sport invented !! Nowhere else can you square off and actually fist fight and the only

@@mikes7446 Why not?, it was an awesome hit and clean as a whistle. Was glad to see no call made on it.
Textbook clean hit.
He didn't leave his feet until contact was made. NH also played the puck so not sure how thats even interference..
Keep your head up Nico and you'll be just fine!
Usual Tkachuk turtle and hide behind the refs.Hit was not legal,he jumped
Saw him accidentally run into goalies many times then stand behind the linesman. He's a league approved dirt bag. Revenge will come.
New Jersey champion 24/25❤️💪
Tkachuk should not have been penalized.
it was interference learn the game and elbow to the head zoom in Moron
PK tryna justify some of his own dirty shots or something wtf is he watching
Clean hit
In today's game you have to fight after laying a clean hit on someone, the league should allow for more severe penalties for this sort of pouty reaction.
He left his feet.
@@abnmp7865yes, but AFTER he made contact, which happens naturally when you hit someone.
@@abnmp7865 Left his feet AND the head was the principle point of contact and it didn't need to be. Also, the hit is initiated before Hischer plays the puck.
