I don't understand why MTH still uses that same whistle for all of their NYC steamers. Ever since the Dreyfuss was first introduced with DCS and PS2 over 20 years ago, they've still decided to use that exact same whistle for all NYC steam engines. It's very frustrating really.
Check on O gauge forum under Changing trucks on MTH cars there are half a dozen items on this swaping Lionel mth and atlas trucks so yes you can goof luck

It is, but at least you can change it. I did on my Dreyfuss.
