- Today we take a tour of an amazing rig to live and travel in, an A-Liner. These beauties have nearly all the advantages of a pop-up trailer, but none of the disadvantages.

Thanks for watching!
The modular kitchen with standardized containers is truly a stroke of genius.
Especially with the unit being so new - many would not want to reengineer a brand new RV.
I live in a camper in the woods now
I lived in a High rise in Dallas
I had a 3500 Sq ft as well
Never going back
🙏
Amen brother!
Doesn't matter how many videos I'm watching in an effort to learn, in spite of the commonalities, EVERY SINGLE ONE offers at least one more new idea!!
I especially like macgyvered drawer/countertop, and the hidden "bathroom stall" 😁is a cool idea!
The sound of the whistling wind 👍🏽♥️🌬️💨
Great setup especially for a man and his dog. I keep going between something like this or a Casita. The older I get the less I want except for solitude and peace.
As long as you have adequate towing capabilities, i think the Casita would serve you much better and have a nice wet bath.
Never get tired of a Home on Wheels Tour! ✌🏼🌺❤️
Well organized and I like how he repurposed plastic bottles! This A-style with dormers is much nicer/roomier than the basic A-frame.
We bought one of the first A Liners when they were a conversation starter in the campground. The Aliner was one of the best things we ever did in our long lives. It was an absolute joy until we couldn't camp anymore. We still miss it.
why cant you camp anymore???
@@NockyBoober I'm 78 and my husband is 80. He has dementia. I had such hope for us to travel for months at a time when he retired but ....
Reusing those bottles as containers is sooo smart! And keeping them in 6-pack cardboards is just really great.
I see A-Liner is Cody approved.
🤩😎😁
Love my Aliner 10’ rig. No dormers, no micro or toilet (use a bucket loo), cabinets instead of dinette (use a sm. collapsible chair & lap tray). Don’t use the water system either (use wipes or tub with Bonners & washcloth, & store water in tow v. ), keep bed smaller also, covered sink with a plastic cutting board. Tons of storage in stacked small plastic tubs). I’m short so no height issue. Love the hard sided safety feature & portability.
Have a Ranger 10, and I'm 6-2"...lots of room. No a/c (!never!), sink, cabinets...love it for boondocking.
I've been watching all the different set ups and this may be at the top of my list. Dude could definitely side gig as a Santa. Thanks Bob!
An easy solution to helping keep it warm in cold weather, take 2 shower rods and put across the walls about 6.5 feet tall then drape a wool blanket over them to make a temporary lower ceiling. It reduces the amount of air space that needs warming. We end up heating the entire space when we could easily make the space smaller. Think 4 poster beds - our ancestors figured all this out a long time ago. :) . Nice Aliner. They are near the top of my list.
Very good idea!
Very nice rig. I've never seen one of those so it was very informative. Very nice gentleman to share is story and his trailer, thank you.
Now I know how to organize my kitchen!
Love the bottles idea. I always learn something. Thanks for the videos.
Picked up my new Aliner in April and camped every other weekend in PA until November. It has brought me so much joy just camping, getting outside, photographing the stars, hiking, and sight seeing. Love it!
Very nice setup this gentleman has. I like the A-liner style trailers as they seem to be sturdy. Watching Slim Potato’s travels with one even in the snow and cold weather, these campers can take most of what mother nature serves up.
He sounds like a really nice guy 😁🇱🇷
Great little setup , who’s got the best beard 🤔
He does!!!
What's nice about the six-pack holders is if you wear one out I know where you can get more, you buy Six beers and they give them away free! Such a deal!!!
This guy would be a perfect Santa Claus 🎄. Nice camper.
I like the way Kody makes himself at home and gets all comfy on the rug. So cute. Like his rig. I admire people with health problems who don’t let it stop them from living the way they want. Thanks for interviewing him.
Eugene rocks! Love how he's made it so simple for him. If I ever went the route of wanting a trailer hitch setup, this looks pretty sweet. Never thought much about the inside of an A liner.
I think the A-Liner is a fantastic RV option except for the price. I think I will stick with my $10k, 40 MPG Mocro RV and Clamshell Canopy. My clamshell is my living and work area... my Micro RV is just for sleeping, and for when locations don't allow tents/canopies or camp setup like Boondockers Welcome/Golf Courses/Wineries.
@@ricardostravels3265 Can one short person set up the clamshell? I like the look of them. ty!
and I agree... I looked into the Aliner prices... holy cow! super expensive!
Love the repurposed beverage bottle system. Cool.
Had an Aliner classic for 5 years. Those dormers really open things up
Eugene keeps things simple and efficient with his food storage and cabinet space. I appreciate the creative thinking.
So true!
from south africa.... empty soda bottles brilliant... gonna steal that one, thanks!
He seems really cool! Has a really great spirit.😊I love his camper. Nomads have the best hacks!🙌🏽🙌🏽 Great video!
What an innovative RV, it feels really roomy with the height. Also a really creative way to shower with the holes in the bottle cap and large bottle with heated water. I'm amazed how creative and smart people are who live the RV lifestyle!
I thoroughly enjoyed this RV tour, I learn something new from every single video! Thank you Bob!
Cool guy! He is a thinker and leads a smart life.
What an excellent set-up. He has everything he needs and is very proud of his home.
I'll try this someday with my daughter, I'm thinking a trip up and down the west coast is in order next year!
I love the little a frames. This one is a little larger. Very comfortable looking.
This is amazing i always wanted to live in a camper. Gosh just imagine seeing the big world
I have been traveling with my Aliner since September of 2018. I took August & September off for some more modifications. I also travelled for 7 & 1/2 months in 2017. To date, I have been to 184 National Park units! 🤩

Cute and simple aliner .. Good for short term camping ..
Great idea on the bottles .. Very organized and clean ...
But love 💘 the pretty blue F150 ..
I have a Red 96' F150 with over 400,000 miles .. Been thinking of getting a New F150 but blue ..
This video just confirmed it now .. Lol 😂
Thanks Yall .. Keep the videos coming 😍😍
Nice! I like the concept of, "Living small in a big world."
So True... although, I think I will stick with my $10k, 40 MPG Micro RV and 12ft Clam Shell Canopy/Tent for living and working in.
Very clever and well-organized! Great re-purpose for pop bottles. Love the tour videos - thanks!
Thanks, I'll always do tours, everybody likes them most.
@@CheapRVliving Well, that's not to say I don't appreciate the gear reviews or live-streams, haha! Thanks again.
I consider myself to be highly organized and you put me to shame! Your food/kitchen organization is fabulous!!! I will be stealing some of your ideas. Well done!!!
Really enjoyed this tour. A liner seems quite sweet!
Another enlightening and entertaining tour, Bob - well done!
Thank you Bob! Love the inside of this camper.
He reminds Me of "Santa!"😁Great tour, Thank you & Enjoy!❤🕊👑
Two Santa's for the price of 1 video...//Nice portable camper there.
Cute as a puppy! I love the A frame.
I had an over the can truck camper. I was fixing it up and only put a couple hundred dollars into when it was smashed by a semi.
*story
3a.m we were sleeping when we heard a loud crash and the house shake. We laid there thinking a storm was coming. But several minutes later we heard knocking. I stayed up stairs locked and yup, loaded. ( we live in the country) anyhow my husband hollered up to call 911.
The trucker survived going airborne 2 times before hitting the side of my foundation of an older barn where my camper was.
A huge tree had fallen and at night the young guy goes pretty fast to make it through the city before work traffic. So he went Airborne as he hit the large tree, the cab and trailer Jack knifed in the air hit my embankment sending it into the air and smashing through my barn. They didn't have the proper insurance. They only came back to fix the ground, and driveway and only gave me 500.00 for my camper.
They became very rude to my husband. And so my barn never was fixed nor cleaned up.
At the time the mom was grateful that her son survived. But the dad and grandfather was angry. Yucky kind of people to deal with.
In Oregon, as of January 2020, plastic reusable bags are outlawed. Good luck finding reusable grocery bags in OR for use in portable toilets or buckets.
Better stock up !
In California we haven’t been able to get reusable plastic bags for a few years, yet we can buy a box of a National brand garbage bags that’s the same size. They’ll work great.
I sure glad we have the government to save us all from plastic bags. 8-)
Much love. Live Long & prosper.. thanks for the share. Maybe see ya all on the road, one day..
Well made! Thank you for the information and interview!
Always,
Faye
Very nice and ingenious setup!👍😊
As always a great video, thanks for all your hard work.
Thank you for another excellent video🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Good luck Eugene.
You're a fabulous person.
Nifty storage ideas!
Anyone interested in an Aliner might find Slim Potatohead's RUclips videos very informative. He travels all over with one of these and shows how to fix little items that can be of great help.
Thanks guys. Great modifications 👍💖
I guess if one really wanted to have more storage, an easy way would be to get those 3-drawer (or as many as one wanted/needed) plastic units. Since they are not heavy, they could be put on the floor when collapsing the trailer, and when open they could be popped on top of the counters.
Many people do exactly that! 😎😁
Love the repurposed bottles in their little carriers, very clever and excellent use of space. The dormers are genius. Thanks for sharing.
Hey bubblehead!!! Good to see a fellow submariner!!!
Thanks Bob ✋✌👍💚 Great video
Plenty of room inside to do jumping jacks each morning.
Great interview!! I wondered about A liners since i learned of them recently... so this is cool to get a tour! Gracias... And the gentleman is super smart and really a great tour guide! Thank you Bob...
If your reusing bottles, after washing put a bit of rice in
It will take any moisture out and you will not get clumps in your fine spices.
after washing, I shake them out and I dry them open to air circulation for a week or more.
I do the same thing with my milk, though they are only single use.😁😎
Thank you so much for your tour. Such a nice home for camping. Great ideas & really wish you fabulous travels!
Fantastic beard!
Thank you for the in-depth tour. I have been wanting to get a a liner with a wet bath. I like the security of Hardball offers as well as being able to put up the walls by myself as a single woman Traveler. Thank you again
Very organized.
Anyone else hearing Jimmy Stewart's voice?
I have been looking at Aliners myself and hope to be able to buy one one day. I would be traveling alone so need something that is easy to set up yet light to pull.
Love Eugene!
Pumping fertilizer sprayers from places like Lowes work well as a shower too. Just make sure it's a new one
Beautiful camper
Nice unit. Always wanted to see one.
I have a Nash Northwood manufacturing. 24 foot fifth wheel. It is actually 4 season for an RV.
Temps were down to close to 10 and no problems. For there days. I'd be comfortable below 0 f.
There made in Oregon, west coast, there sold mainly over here I believe and I'm Canada.
love it...would want to winterizing would be a must ...thxs
That is an awesome idea about the uniformity of the soda bottles in the peanut containers. My suggestion to him it would be 2 put his refrigerator on a lift system so that he could when he is camped he could lift it up and that way he wouldn't have to be getting stuff out of the bottom of it by standing on his head
Some really cool ideas!!
In June 2020 I will be hitting the road full-time as a nomad in my A-frame camper which is a forest river I’ve done some modifications to it for storage maybe someday I’ll run into you Bob and I can show it to you
Hi ... interested in your mods how do I contact you or see them?
Go to the RTR. Bob has a meet and greet.😎😁
That's a great setup there.
Thank you Bob 😊
Looks a good place for a fold down table if it could attached to wall.
twins of pleasure
Great looking trailer.
My wife is handicapped so a traditional pop up would not work, but one like this might.
Persionly l like the a frame.
I have a real nice high top van. But no clue how to build it out. So I thought about just using it to pull a camper like this.
Excellent
SANTA!!!!🎅🎅🎅
That shower rod holder he uses to put put pressure on the side walls do get loose. Harbor freight has cargo ratcheted stabilizers that STAY PUT! Just a tip!
Using the bottles to store food is a good idea as they take up little room. I thought these things has a small box shower unit? Being in the desert where do people in this community dump their waste? London, uk.
The fact this man has recycled 6 packs, lol. I hafta be honest this is the type of guy who could add a shower to a Dodge van & still make it seem spacious. Anyone know a link to the potato recipe he's talking about?
Go Tarheels 🥰
VERY nice only I wish he would have shown the shower even tho he doesn't use it. I assume it is where the port a potty sits? Thank you for the interview. Safe travels and God bless!
I just put a towel on the floor. I use 20 oz pop bottles. Also I don't empty them all at once, localized washing.😎😁
@@eugenebreindel I thought there was one built in that u just didn't use? My mistake. 😊
@@tinlizzy39 the shower units that are factory installed in Aliners take up lots of room. 😁
Yeah , that's a pretty hot setup . How well does the heater work in extreme cold ? I just retired and am ready to wander . I have to decide on a van or trailer . Tough choice .
I use a Mr. Buddy heater. The installed one quit. 😖
@@eugenebreindel Thanks , maybe I'll see ya on the road sometime .
Cute lil rig. I would be concerned about a wind gust and stability.
Stability is fine. If concerned during extreme winds hook up vehicle. Setting up can be an issue, there are various options to assist you. Such as lines, poles, etc. You can purchase kits too. Inside stabilizer rod/s can be used. Center them at the Apex on the "a"sides. They are good defense against bears pushing them in...
@@jimsteele7108 yes
@@leonardwood8024 thanks
@@jimsteele7108 I have replaced the shower pole with 3/4" Conduit with cane tips on them.😎😁
ZZ Top selling trailers now.
I am thinking about getting the Airline Titanium 10 footer. It is suppose to be built for more off road. I have found myself on dirt roads that start to get rough and regular RVs could not handle. I would have to go to a dealer to see if that is true or my hype. Right now I have a Runaway, which is okay for some rough patches, but I am growing tired of the small size. These teardrop designs do not allow for standing up.
Richard, my Micro RV would get pretty claustrophobic without my canopy. Do you also have a large standup tent/canopy like the Clam Shell I use? My clamshell is my living and work area... my Micro RV is just for sleeping, and for when locations don't allow tents/canopies or camp setup like Boondockers Welcome/Golf Courses/Wineries.
@@ricardostravels3265 I have a 10X10 canopy. Its great but has to be taken down in heavy wind. For example, I was on a trip where the winds where 40 plus miles per hour for 2 days. Thus, I was stuck in a small trailer laying down for most of that time. I do admit that the canopy matches well with my trailer, of which the Aliner has that problem.
Sorry to hear that @@minirunt, what kind of canopy do you have. I see other tents and canopies blown down all the time, although I have never had any problems with my canopy "even in 40 mph winds and driving rain". Yes, I have to stake it down when the forecast calls for high winds, although most of the time I don't even stake it down completely. You can find my canopy under the ☆ Camp Furniture section within the description of my videos. Now it's going to be interesting to see if you have the same one.
@@ricardostravels3265 About a midgrade canopy I bought on Amazon. I would be concerned if I kept a canopy up in anything highter than 30mph winds. Even if staked. I was once at a campsite and an RV had one out and the wind was gusting about 30-50 mph when a gust suddenly twisted it, causing the frame to fail. Rule: if thunderclouds are coming be prepared for sudden gust. Secure even thing outside the trailer and take down awnings canopys. It should be noted that another RV nearby also got its attached roll out canopy torn off. That created major damage to his RV. I might chance it at higher winds, but why take the risk.
@@ricardostravels3265 I have the Crown Shades Outdoor Pop up Portable Shelter. I also go three sides with it, so I could, if wanted enclose it/shelter. I do admit, that it does help keep cold rain or light winds. It I wanted I can put my mini camper under the entire canopy. I mostly just park the trailer on one side and then enlose the other sides, as needed.
I would like to know what type of CPAP he uses on 12 volt, or how he keeps it available to use if it needs 110.
Yeah let me know too
My CPAP was using a transformer to convert 120 AC to 12 VDC. I googled the brand, mine is Respironics, and went their accessories page and found that actually offered the DC cigarette lighter power cord. It was pricey but it keeps me from having to take my DC to AC and then back to DC at the machine.
It is a Philips Respironics Dreamstation Auto CPAP Hom DOM
The output of the 110 volt adapter is 12 volts DC. It was easy to buy an adapter off of Amazon. So the cord is basically just a 12v extension cord with the correct plug for my unit.
Each person who want to accomplish this would have to research the power requirements for their individual CPCP, the extension cord I bought from Amazon was $20 and the factory model of the exact same cord was $60.
FYI... a good portable option for the CPAP is the Jackery 500 - it has been tested to run a CPAP with everything running for 8 hours.
How water tight do these stay over time , they look like a great lil 1 man or cpl rig but I’d be afraid of rain over time
Check out slimpotatohead video's. His is at least 3 years old and he has taking it ever where. I guess on perspective is how long would a cheap class c keep. Like Bob always said these rigs were not made for extended or full time living. The only rigs I would say you can depend on over time. Would be a Lazy Daze,Born Free,or a Chinook. Or a fiberglass camper like a Escape, Bigfoot, Casita, scamp, etc. Maybe even a cargo trailer. Not speaking from experience. Just from ALOT of research.
They don't leak due to design. However, wind driven rain might work it's way in a bit. The mfr. sells a regasketing kit for worn seals.
They actually hold up quite well as far as rain, although the seals alone the top edges break down over time and allow heat out and airflow in. That's why so many A-Liner owners use pool noodles or pipe insulation to solve the seal issue.
Cool
Health is affected by magnetic and electric radiating sources like batteries…best to put them in outside in a conductive metal box. Also plastic bottles leach the plastic into the contents…
Nice handgun.
Didn't see it.
