- Is The Lord of the Rings Return to Moria Worth Playing Now?? In this video, I will give my Return to Moria Review and dive into whether the game is worth your time after a year's worth of updates. Happy viewing!!
Who is after its free in epic game 😅
It's me. I'm here
Hello there

Fellow EGS Christmas giveaway viewers, I greet you.
We gathered here very quickly

haha lmao
Hello there
Ya. We gathered here for a reason
skipped IGN in the search bar to come right here since their opinion does'nt matter anymore
Same😂
I agree, unsubscribed IGN.
based
Nobody has cared about IGN's opinion for twenty years. I really wonder how they manage to lure people in just for those people to come to the exact same conclusion every year for literal decades.
I already enjoyed it when it first launched, any improvement will be really good. The combat is mid but the atmosphere is so good, the first time I discovered singing while mining felt so magical.
I really missed the opportunity to build my own drawen castle
"And they call it a mine, ha ha ha... A MINE", can't wait to try this out.
I got it on August 27, 2024 aka the Steam release date cause it was on sale and I love LOTR. I wasn't sure about it but the trailer looked cool and it's been a while since I've played a LOTR game. Within 30 minutes I was HOOKED. I've played it nearly 10 hours in the last 2 days lol
Just to add something you missed. This game is 10x better when played with a group. It makes combat more interesting and less stressful. And you can sing together, as well as drink and dance together.
Nearly everything is better when you can play it with a group, but there are a lot of people who do not have a group they can join without a bunch of toxic players
@@absolutelyfookinnobody2843 Yeah but this one is really really meant to be played with a Group. Even 1 more friend makes it a lot more fun to experience. First the singing is a lot cooler with more voices in the choir. Digging ores together while singing is truly the Dwarf experience that even Deep Rock Galactic didn't implement.
Then there's the combat problem. You constantly get swarmed in this game. Having a friend to peel off enemies is really really good. Sieges are a common occurrence on higher difficulty, and in certain parts of the progression you're pretty weak against the current zone's enemies.
Lastly, there's also the masterwork items. This is the most clear indication of how the game was intended from the start to be a group type game. You can only equip one, but all of them are damn useful. And some are clearly intended to be used in groups, like the Keg which carries ale. So you become a mobile brew station for your teammates to keep refilling their brews. Have a dwarf carrying the torch, a dwarf with the pickaxe for fast mining and clearing dirt, and a shieldbearer who keeps enemies stunlocked while being indestructible.
You just can't do the last one in solo. Yeah you can carry a masterwork but they're really meant to compliment each other simultaneously, and to give people pre-designed roles such as tank, miner, explorer and support.
I get what you're saying though.
I just started this 2 days ago, and I am loving it!
Sames!! Thanks for watching!!

You need more subs my man! That was a genuine and very informative review! Great work man!
I've got around 30hrs, haven't finished it yet but getting the game in steam after the Golden update I can say it's pretty good and worth your time and the price tag
I feel the same way. Thanks for watching!!
I am Not a Huge fan of survival games but they have have grown on me, but I am a huge LOR fans this is the review I was looking for 😅 loved the Forest ! New Subscriber 🥳 🎉
Love your Dennis implications poster in the background 😂
He’s my 5-Star Man lol
Haha. I didn't even notice that. His implications are slightly better than Dee's though... that woman scares me.
Great video! My wife, friend and I got this on xbox. Its really good but being a fan of the lotr, world, lore etc really amplifies how good it is
Thanks for the super genuine review, hard to find nowadays.
No problem! Thanks for watching!!
What are you talking about. They are everywhere. Why are people so blind in a world of sight
I was only giving my personal opinion. You are more than welcome to disagree with it.
Yeah, this channel is pretty great. Gameranx I'd another that's pretty good.
Only complaint i have is that you cant deconstruct items you make like weaponry, armor, and tools. Id upgrade my stuff and id either have to make weapon and armor stands or just make a junk chest...if they add a decon feature it would make it almost perfect.❤
on first release I could even store the weapons so you had to trow them on the ground whereever. Is it still like this?
Great review dude! Haven’t played since release so I’m looking forward to getting back into it. Congrats on almost 8k!
Wanna Rock and Stone with Shelby and I??
Just bought it on sale. Would pay double what I paid. It's a really well done game, sure it has it's flaws, what doesn't. But you can really see the LOTR passion put into it in even small details like references to Silmarillion content.
That's what I keep saying. It's clear this is amateur-intermediate work at best, probably the first time the devs have done something like this. But. It works well enough, and it's pretty obvious that they've done their homework and understand who they're trying to sell this to. It understands everything, down to the fact people REALLY disliked the Blackspeech orcs in the hobbit and preferred the vaguely British accent Orcs of LoTR. At least they were the funny henchmen goons, Sauron by himself was the intimidating one and it was fine that way.
In general they did everything well. I just there was more emphasis on the individual forges you find. All of them being carbon copies of each other just kind of makes it not feel great finding them. When the Forge of DURIN himself is the same as the Forge in the Elven quarter you find in the first hour of gameplay, it kind of diminishes the "glory" in re-lighting it for the first time in an entire age. It's a letdown since Forging is kind of a Dwarf thing, and the Forges being the same feels like the one thing they really should've given more thought. But I cannot complain. Khazad dum is a location I've always wanted to explore in video games, and this game seems to have been literally someone just peering into my soul and making a game out of it. Incidentally, survival is also one of my most played genres, so... yeah. IT really is like someone just... understood what I wanted.
Hi. What I'm looking in a review of a survival game (among other things) are the mechanics. Like, can you destroy everything like in Minecraft? I see you eat - what food do you get and in what way? What can you craft? What can you play as (I guess Dwarfs, but can you pick different professions?). Maybe explain all that?
You can not destory everything terrain wise, but pretty much every other structure or debries can be, the food you get ranges from mushrooms, to cabbages, lore appropriate subterranean onions, meat from rats and other beasts, and everything in between, there's farming as well. As far as I know there are no skill trees to make you better at a single thing, just equipment upgrades. There's a lot of what you would expect from dwarves to make, stone and wood structures, scaffolding, rope ladders, piles of treasure etc.
I got this game for Christmas and man I was super excited to play it and I played it maybe a day I enjoyed a lot but haven't been able to jump back into it because of my busy schedule hopefully soon I can jump back in and play
Played LotR: RtM with a group of friends at launch and we all still really enjoy it!
Just finished this playing through with a friend. There are some awesome reveals and story moments. The ending is decently satisfying with some minor or open-ended quests to do after you complete the main story, so it doesn't feel pointless playing the campaign world once you've finished the story.
I always liked lotr games (and games alike!.)
Been playing this game for the past 3 weeks or so. I'm on my 2nd time through it, cause I wanted to be able to make use of the mithiril items that gets unlocked after defeating the final boss. Great game and has a 'skyrim' feel to it imo
I think the game is okay but this is typically that game what better be played with a group of friends or play on online with randoms. I would add more variety of the dwarf creation, more option for body change, more voice for both male and female, face slider to make better looking characters. These are just slight additions I would like to see later on this game, other than this more better building when you make platforms and want to fit them. Also the game is made it for coop but would be nice if players could host servers like what The Isle have with 100+ servers. Here a 25-30-50 player servers would be nice to play because that would gives a different atmosphere and more involvement on the survival aspects also could fill the void with life. I can imagine the dwarven taverns with mead drinking and singing non stop. This is the community builder aspect of the game and somewhat I would have liked this on Valheim too.
Unfortunately it's by design not like that. It's meant to be like a small group at most. And you're not supposed to be building a community, but getting out, unless you're playing sandbox but I guess that's whole other argument in itself. So it's kind of redundant to build entire taverns. A fortified home to not get shanked by a Goblin in your sleep is one thing, but an entire community isn't necessary. That part should be AFTER the dwarves enter en masse and start clearing out and rebuilding.
Honestly, hope this one keeps getting worked on, maybe even a new campaign where you go back in and start clearing out all the Goblin and Monster dens you can find. And to turn it into a renovation game where you build up new structures and refurbish old ones. Maybe like a resource management game but with more combat.
you cannot build a proper base so the multiplayer was a huge disapointment for me
Is there a LOTR where i can take the Hobbits to Isengard?
turn speed down to 0.25 and click this. 3:12
And then tell me if the combat is good.
What is that outro music from, I don't know where but i feel like ive heard it a million times
It’s an 8 bit version of A Walk in the Woods from Halo CE. Thanks for watching!!
It sounded like Zero 7 - In The Waiting Line.
Honestly love your energy. First video ive seen of yours and I'm a fan!
Very kind of you to say. It’s much appreciated! Thanks for watching!!
Loving it!! Just got it a couple days ago been waiting for Xbox. Also got Star Wars outlaws, Moria blows outlaws out of the water tbh…
Enjoyed it enough to not delete. Waiting for a few more steam deck optimization updates but expect to put quite a few hours into it.
The game is a good game imo. only thing that sucks is there was only 1 actually good Quality of life update and then after that. They stopped updating
the only downside ive got with it so far is that last night I got a hard-freeze in the game while in the elven quarter, but task manager wasnt reading it as "not responding".
Had to force-close it through steam, so I can only hope theres some form of autosaving present. ..and that the save isnt corrupted. As I havent touched it yet since the freeze
Love'n it so far after a few days of playing. Enjoyed valheim solo and this even more so. Mods have the potential to really flesh this game out even more.
Hope they expand on the multiplayer currently playing solo but having a Great time
It is cool to at least have a decent crafting game based in the world of a major IP. There are some areas they can still improve but I think it's well worth the current steam price of $30
It's a fun game but it felt lonely, I think it's supposed to be played with others at least. Looking forward to giving it another go soon!
If only I had friends
I bought it to play with my friends and you could realy interact with on another because of the bad base building function. So we just progessed fast through the story wich lead to missing parts. It felt not optimised
@@TJK-GO9what is a friend 😢
@@jamesf4127 I would not know.
Is this game have dedicated servers or public servers to play with other players?
i love dwarves in Dragon Age and im thinking of role playing this as a Dwarf reclaiming a great Thaig
Lord Aeducan approves.
Atmosphere wise it is fairly good. Sandbox, building simulator, survival - average but playable enough. It was worse with stability, loading times and fps drops but it slowly improves. 6,5/10 overall, fans of LOTR will like it, others might get bored or annoyed with repetetiveness. Multipaer cooperation is very enjoyable and big part of this game. Community is on a good level, almost all are big fans of Tolkien and are very dedicated. Thanks to the community the whole mark I would give is 7,5/10 or even more, depending on price you paid. Worth a try
Thanks for the review! Been wondering how it was on Steam release.
No problem! Thanks for watching!!
Awesome game.
Thank you for your work!
No problem! And thanks for watching!!
Its like subnautica or grounded. It isnt just a sandbox, its handmade with a progression to an end point.
I'm not a fan of Lotr yet. But I'm really enjoying the game. The music is great. It feels nice and cosy aside from the jumpscares of enemies. I need my friends to protect me and my cozy interior decorating
Glad to hear it’s dragging new fans in 😂 thanks for watching!!
Same, I am not a fan of LOTR and never understood the hype. The movies are well made but didn't appeal to me all that much.
For some reason this game just seems so interesting to me though
As Gandalf once said, live long and prosper on the high ground or the dementors will suck out your soul.
at $20 on steam, it's well worth it. it's essentially just a slightly worse valheim, but it's still great. even after the gold update, it needs a LOT of work however.. so many glitches and issues such as stacking or auto picking up items will often only give you one and delete the rest, palets when broken often dont drop the items that were on them, spawns are awful for certain creatures, the ai on most animals is abysmal, theyre way fast and way sparratic. you cant place anything diagonally, you cant sit in or use furniture, its purely for looks. trees and some other resources should respawn or replenish because for some things, once you exhaust your resources of it, it's practically gone. just many issues i have that if fixed would make the game nearly perfect.
Not a huge LOTR fan, but a major survival fan, any tips on that?
I haven't played since a couple of months after release, but I will be jumping back in now that some of my friends grabbed it for free from Epic Games.
Is there co-op? If there is I might grab it too.
lol wasn't planning on buying this game but this video may have changed my mind. I was like WHHUUU!??? exploration sandbox mode? coool.......creepy solitude for long expanses!????? Even COOOOLER!
Countless hours worth of exploring building mining great survival game excellent 9/10
awesome review but im gonna need you to confirm for me that you're not Mike from the Matan Evan show
The funny thing is that i didnt even know this game existed until steam. So i just casually finished it today and i was like: Well.......... I thought it released like this.
Have you tried V Rising yet
Do you have to rebuild your base over and over again in new areas? That’s a turn off for me
I don't. I just one main base. You'll have mapstones as travel points to get you back there.
This game seemed to go under the radar but looks pretty nice!
Also, are you looking for a video editor?🤔
id argue it was more fun when it came out, broken game could be annoying from time to time with coop friends. trying to rebuild things but the game don't allow etc etc
but id like to see this game grow, good time
ur channel is underrated hope u grow fast
Appreciate you!
imma buy this game and listen to misty mountains for 10h
Absolutely should!
Did you. Its free on epic rn
Where can i get the "Implication" poster?? That made me laugh too much.
only probem I have is I can't play when the host is out.
Was let down by the game on lunch but this review with Moria being on Steam sale, decided to nab it 👍 Thanks for the review ^_^
Hope you enjoy! Thanks for watching!!
Try and play it at dinner
@@MentorRick Fair point but found it more of a 2nd breakfast type game 🤔
@@dmdGFX-Studio got me there
How much of it is fixing up Moria? Thats my interest in playing
Well any base you build will require you to do some repairs to the surrounding area. But other than that you’ll fix a lot of statues and places of importance with the real focus being the story. Without spoilers you have a clear enemy and a goal of rejoining Gimli and the rest of the dwarves outside.
6:22 Track name plz?
@@Retr0Dima walk in the woods
I bought it and played it for hours the first few days and it got stale and boring very quickly... my son and I are both huge lotr fans and we were very disappointed with this game
Is the oblivion background music not copyright?
Elder scrolls music is typically copyright free
So once you finish game on the save file can you still roam around and play or is it over?
you can roam around after the ending.
If they didn't add crosspkay i wouldn't have been able to play. Loving it so far even if it did trap me in the lower depths
goddammit i missed it when it was free, i didn't notice until it was over
oof
I saw a video where the enemy animation looked cgi copy and paste like. Is the patched version like that? Looks like all baddies where doing a stomp the a lebouf just do it flex...?
Where did you get the implication poster?
From an artist at my local Comicon. I may be able to find the artists name..
@LiveFromMyBasement it's great, the jaws theme with Dennis that's hilarious
i love it been playing since launch
But would you say it's worth getting into if you play solo?
Yes! I’ve spent most of my playtime solo, but I will say I’ve hopped on with a group of six twice and it definitely is better that way. Thanks for watching!!
Yes, but depends on what you like. The game is definitely slower solo, and I'd imagine you'd need patience both while playing and while looking up tips if you don't split all the work and ideas between 2+ people. It's nice to be able to use the game char/gear between friends servers, your own, and offline play
Bruh 6 days of waiting for this
Oh neat! Didnt know it came out on xbox
It sure did! Also has full crossplay to play with friends on different platforms. Thanks for watching!!
Sir, you have a window in your basement?
LOTR fan and im loving it at the moment
Jesus it looks like a title from 2008.. still going to try it though haha
The thing I loathe about the game is the death penalty.. Died today quite far into the game, and started at the very beginning
TODAY WE SHALL TAKE MORIA!!!!
also game is FREE on Epic for 4 More days!
I loooove this game as an lotr fan.
Have not looked at it since early release, and at that time it kinda sucked. Maybe will give it another chance sometime now that they’ve improved it.
Agreed. Wouldn't really like it if I wasn't a Tolkien nerd.
Thank you!)
This review made me wanna play Oblivion instead 👀
Music is a bit too loud and your voice gets mixed in. Its uneasy to hear it.

Its 7,5/10 game its awesome with friends a lore is interesting
Its fun as hell
Very much so! Thanks for watching!!
Boosteroid is a no-brainer for anyone serious about gaming
It always was worth playing...
Damn, cozy room
The biggest thing they could add to increase the lifespan of Return to Moria would be to add a PvPvE extraction-based game mode.
If executed properly, it's the change that would bring the largest amount of new players to the game, and keep more players playing for longer.
This is true, and I can back that up with historical evidence.
man i got this free and i still doubt i'll waste my time 😂
W Epic Games for making it free
Slow down. Breathe dude. I gotta play you at 0.8x to sound normal...
Rough launch?.....
I played this at launch and there wasnt anything rough about it 😂😂
Yea it was just outright terrible and now it's only kinda bad.
The skyrim music…
"one crisis at a time...." LOL
Loved the vibe and controls, but I ran around for 1.5 hours lost and frustrated & decided to return it
This game was just huge cash grab. It was so damn bad.... But understandably; lotr fans buy into it.
That song in the end is awesome, name of it please?
An 8 bit version of Walk in the Woods
The game was epic exclusive. So, enough for me to say no to it.
Sadly I think its incredibly poor,it feels like a middling game from the 360 era.I gave it around 20 hours and sadly its just a poor game, combat is terrible along with enemy ai,the game itself looks terrible, building is okay but no better or worse than any comparable game.If it didn't have any Tolkien link it would've fared much worse but ultimately its not worth your time.
