My son Jack is only 29 years old and he loves visiting cathedrals!!! He visited Ely cathedral this weekend. No ,it definitely doesn't mean you getting old😂
Thanks for the updated video on Rochester. I live in Chicago and love to take trips to England. I visited Rochester on a beautiful day last week based on your prior video on the town. I must have just missed you. Such a charming High Street, gorgeous Cathedral and great views from the top of the castle. I made another great day trip to Lewes in East Sussex, recently named as the prettiest town in England by the Telegraph. Lewes also has a charming High Street and a castle with spectacular views (and lots of coffee shops).. I hated to leave both towns. Consider a visit to Lewes, you would love it!
That’s a rather large, moist burger 🍔. Yummy 😋 Charles Dickens is one of my favorite authors, of all times. All his stories have had an effect upon my life. The Cathedral was a sight to behold. The church ⛪️ organ was impressive. I do love an impressive organ. 😳🫢🙃 I think 🤔, we need to petition Parliament, to restore their status as a city. Are you with me lads ? 🧐
Hi Lads. I have been offline with internet problems, now have a new laptop, printer and all the gear so I am up and raring to go. Wow I have missed your adventures. I love Rochester, the quirky shops, the Castle and Cathedral too. Worked in Medway so was often in Rochester in Court or lunch. I really hope you and your families are keeping well.
Yea, love Rochester, two stops on the train for me. Six poor travellers house is so lovely with the courtyard out the back. Love the museum. Great to be able to see the Swiss chalet set in the courtyard. Sang in the cathedral numerous times, great acoustics for the choral society. Nice cafe in the crypt. Rochester is definitely a place to go visit and spend the whole day doing the high street end to end. Thank you for fab vid, wanna go visit again soon😄😄😄
Once again…historic buildings and places of interest - on my nearby doorstep - and once again, we seemingly have just driven past and ignored it all! 😳😩 Rochester is just “down the road” from us, but we have never stopped and parked the car and gone to explore it all! If we go on a mini break holiday here in GB,, visiting towns and cities etc, we always research the “things to do and see”, the visitor attractions, castles, museums etc - yet when it’s in the area to live in, you don’t seem to bother! I think, thank you to you two, that oversight needs to be rectified! 😄 Of course, we are well aware of the Dickens’ “themes” and the Dickensian Christmas Festival held in Rochester every year - I am sure you would have heard of it but have you ever been to it? It’s good fun and I’m sure you would love it! It’s 7-8th December this year. There is also the May Day bank holiday Sweep’s Festival. So happy to see you back on line again - it makes my Sunday afternoon to see where you have visited. (although, I’ve just watched it today, Monday!) Hope you are both well 🥰
It’s always the way isn’t it? Drive passed places close to you to get to other places and forget to explore your own back yard. We used to be terrible for it 😂
Bishop Odo, half brother of William the Bastard, established the cathedral at Rochester. The Swiss chalet was originally sited at Gads Hill, Higham. All birds are protected but some appear on a pest species list and can be controlled by the land owner, in this case English Heritage. Crows are a pest species.
Fantastic vlog as always, them burgers looked delicious and Josh that backpack was just waiting for you 😂. Also i had to Google why Rochester lost it's City Status because Jason usually has all the facts but sadly you didn't enlighten us😂. Hope your having a great time in 🏴
