    When you start with white "acrylic medium" do you mean gesso, or white paint? Then when you apply the colors, are you using watered down acrylic paint or watercolor or guache?

    • @GerdaLipski
      @GerdaLipski  5 лет назад

      Hello Xena, I use watered down acrylics, and the medium is white when wet, but it dries clearly

    Ich male auf der gleiche art und Weise, das heißt ich drehe, drehe und dann hole ich raus das unsichtbare um sichtbar für andere zu machen. Und dann fällt aus der Umgebung standard Frage: Und was soll das eigentlich sein?😂 Und meine Antwort lautet: Alles was du willst. Deine Videos und die Bilder sind sehr inspirierend.

    By using cardboard and it being porous, does it soak up too much moisture and become too wet and get ripples and warbles? Your work is absolutely gorgeous.

    • @GerdaLipski
      @GerdaLipski  7 лет назад +1

      I first seal the cardboard with two layers of acrylic binder, this makes the paper water-resistant.

    I've misses not seeing you paint. I just enjoy watching and love your finished painting. I have seen you use the wrap before and made a small picture, but I think I will try on a larger piece. Does it have to be watercolor paper? And what specific medium did you use after the film painted part dried? Thanks

    • @GerdaLipski
      @GerdaLipski  7 лет назад +5

      Hi Bernice, you may use any strong paper, but you have to seal it for this technique with acrylic binder (or gloss medium). Seal and dry very carefully!Later on, I didn´t use any medium - on my Palette was just the rest of the binder from the beginning...:)

    Cool--that's a very interesting version of the plastic wrap technique! It's been used for many years in automotive painting where it's known as "marbleizing". The usual method is: base coat of black, wet coat of silver (or gold), then apply plastic wrap (Saran wrap in USA). Remove plastic, allow silver to dry, then multiple coats of transparent candy color to desired depth of color. Another method is to spray silver paint directly onto a wad of crumpled plastic wrap and then daub that on the black base--can also use a sponge to apply. This is the first time I've seen it done with acrylics with brushwork on top....the alcohol drops for added texture was a nice touch also! A very beautiful painting!

    Hi Gerda. I enjoy your videos very much. They are both instructive and inspirering. I would like to ask about your plastic bag tecknique. In this video you recommend to leave the bag on the painting for 30 to 60 minuts. In other videos you recommend 2 to 5 minuts only. I have tried to spot the difference in the results, but I am not sure I can see it. Which difference does the time under the plastic bag mean for the result ?
    Thank you, and all the best

    • @GerdaLipski
      @GerdaLipski  6 лет назад

      Hello Charlotte, thanks for your comment! To your question: Actually, you can leave the plastic for a day, until the color is completely dry underneath, then the most precise textures arise. If the color is moister, the structures become softer. If it is too moist, the textures will re-merge after the plastic is removed and it will have no effect. How long I let it on depends on how precise I want the texture to be. best regards
      Gerda

    Danke auch fur die kleinen Tipps zu dem wie man anfängt, auch wenn einen nicht gleich eine Idee anspringt.
    Vielleicht kannst du ja mal ein Video dazu machen.... Bestimmt hast du noch mehr kniffe wie man an solch ein Abstraktes Bild geht und man letztendlich ein paar Figuren oder ähnliches rausholt im den Betrachter auf eine Reise zu schicken.
    Zum Beispiel finde ich dein Bild 23 so gelungen... Und die Musik war teilweise so krass passend gewählt..... Ich danke dir dafür ❤️✌️
