My parents took me to Disneyland on the 3rd day it was open. I was almost 6 years old and am 70 now but I still remember almost everything about that day. My dad took home movies of our trip to Disneyland.

First trip to Disneyland was in 56 and I still am fascinated with all the things that are still to be discovered there today. Met Walt with my Dad and little brother at the Firehouse in the late 50's when my Dad delivered a book to Walt that he bound. My Dad was a bookbinder, (one of the best I might add) Too bad we didn't have any photos.

This is the kind of stuff I'd love to see on Disney+. Not so much the presentations (though Baxter is a great storyteller), but they have all this amazing footage in the vault, I'd love to see them, do more with it. The Imagineering Story was great, but I'd love to see a Disneyland through the decades kind of show.

It's so nice seeing footage of Walt Disney enjoying himself and acting like a little kid at times. No wonder he insisted on being known as Uncle Walt.

Oh that is amazing that you were at Disneyland when it first opened. So what was the most exciting part of your day there and did you cherish that memory?.

They need to put out a COMPLETE DVD on the making and behind the scenes making of Disneyland and Disney World . It could be 10 hours long for all I care.

Lorelei, my absolute favorite thing at Disneyland has always been the House of the Future. I miss it immensely -- it is still ultra modern looking. And everything in side has materialized. The flat cardboard picture on the wall representing a TV now exists. Same with the machine that can cook a meal in minutes, and the PicturePhone -- now we carry them around! My favorite typestyle, Microgramma (or Eurostile) is the shape of THOTF.

    Hudson, eh?
My grandfather was in the advertising business for over 50 years. He was elected by the BoD of Brook, Smith, French, and Dorrance as a vice president, which in those
days was a big deal compared to the CEO appointing somebody a VP.
As it turns out one of his accounts was Hudson Motor Car company. So he and his office had hands on that advertisement. It was fun to see it.

The Pirate ride in Florida was the "demise" of the Western River Expedition in Disneyland? Huh?!? The most interesting feel and attraction of Disneyland is the old west frontier. Too bad they never followed through with completing the Western River Expedition. It would have been a timeless hit.

I'm kind of glad the Western River Expedition didn't happen at Disneyland. It allowed Knott's to make the Timber Mountain log ride and Calico Ghost Town not seem like a duplicate. Knott's has always had its charm of course, but it's no Disneyland!

I'm still wondering about the "real human skull" in the headboard in POTC. I've never officially heard from a real disney rep that it's real. I've read it all over the web and stuff it could still be an urban legend. I'd have to hear it from a real disney official before I believe it fully.

To the person taking a loud camera (sounds like a cheap DSLR canon rebel) picture at every scene change: you are a jerk. I hope your computer is filled with wonderful memories of you taking handheld stills of a video, we all appreciated the wonderful sounds of your camera. AAA+++ BTW: i hope your frame rate was out of sync and every picture was blurry. don't be a jerk.

Er, we're not supposed to be color blind. You can't celebrate differences if you pretend they don't exist. They haven't forgotten because it wasn't really all that long ago things changed. And to this day, there's still issues.

I see all the nice things said about Tony Baxter here.
But you wouldn't want to know him. I was eagerly urged by Michael Broggie to write him a happy little email and got a phone call 15 minutes later and told to BEAT IT.
From that moment on whenever I saw him at a convention I attempted to lie and say I was sorry for what I didn't do. He defiantly held extremely long conversations while I stood by to talk briefly with him----and at one point he reached across with his arm on my chest to shake someone's hand, but he wouldn't allow me a moment. He even went so far to have someone run out and start a conversation with me so he could get away.
In truth, he's a nasty, person having delusional ideas about his place in history. All the greats were my friends, and they respected me. That's because they are what Tony attempts to be. Don't be fooled for one second. I personally don't see him as Disney material.
