    If an entire species was that much slower mentally speaking, then why wouldn't they have special classes designed just for them?

    • @boomkruncher325zzshred5
      @boomkruncher325zzshred5 2 месяца назад +12

      Growing pains of the new multi-species educational curriculum, I suppose. Plus, if the point of the curriculum is to help species understand each other, giving them a crutch immediately isolates them from the student body. If they have separate classes and separate assignments, the student body will see them as “other” and not a “true” part of the school. Their differences would become an excuse to ostracize them, the opposite of what the school intended.
      Plus, the students organically helping the slower species catch up via tutoring sessions and study groups helps the student body bond together. It’s not that any species is less or more intelligent; it’s multiple species all coming together to strengthen those who struggle, and support those who excel. If that bonding was forced onto the students by the teachers or school administration, it wouldn’t have the desired effect of unifying the next generation of all these species.
      So it’s a tricky question! But not impossible to figure out. If the Saurenai failed to find their footing in the school and didn’t get the help they needed, I’m sure the curriculum would have changed to accommodate them.

      Don't get me wrong. There's nothing inherently WRONG with those lines, it's just overused so much in AI-written stories that it gets sickening because the AI can't let go of the phrase and find an alternate means of saying it. They also seem to get stuck with repeating an idea over and over throughout the story, so that's why the lines get parroted back so often. Fortunately the line was only used once here in this story, but I just caution against using those phrases. Getting to the point of them being taboo phrases.

    The Virexian are a short-lived species. Since they move & function so quickly, they’ve clearly got a very fast resting metabolism. That will prevent them from being drunk or poisoned for a long time, but it also speeds up & shortens their lifespan.
    The Saurenai are the polar opposite. Long-lived, hampered by poisons/sickness for extended periods of time, & don’t quickly adapt to spontaneous changes.

    • @RADIOHFY
      @RADIOHFY Месяц назад +1

      Interesting observations, I like the thought process, what about accounting for the vast size of the Saurani that might make them less susceptible to being drunk/poisoned and vice versa. Definitely something that will need to be explored…

    • @bostontracy5151
      @bostontracy5151 Месяц назад +1

      @@RADIOHFY
      I didn’t really have the time to explain further, but it’s quite simple:
      The vast size of the Saurenai necessitates much MORE poison &/or alcohol to affect them. Think of people as opposed to mice. It takes only a relatively little bit of poison to hamper/harm/kill a mouse. Give that same amount to a human & it MIGHT make their stomach grumble a bit, if even that; that’s assuming we’re using a minor “poison” & not something high-level, like VX or another neurotoxin.
      The Virexians are, obviously, the polar opposite! While the toxin/alcohol will move into & through their system QUICKLY, it also will not take nearly AS MUCH to affect them.
      Very obvious stuff, really.

Though there are traces of local or suppressed accent. It can also be called Newsroom standard because it has been spoken by Cronkite, Huntly, Brinkly and most others since. I was surprised on visits to the South and Texas that most of the TV content was this rather than local dialect. According to one of my Linguistics professors this is why regional dialects are fading, especially among the young. Then when the idiot from a broken home confronts you with their gang of equally messed up 'friends' and tries to assert dominance, you assault them 1st with a sonic device that you're not even sure won't cause lasting damage and likely isn't legal or tested (health and safety 101 ;p) ... and that's when you and your parents went to court. Fun.
    The kid went to school with a sonic 'taser' made specific to 1 particular species, imagine the geopolitical implications? "Terrans are arming their children against us while making noises about peace" and it just gets worse from there.

    The story makes no sense. Alex is written to seem like the only Terran at the school and thus the target of the bullies then 3/4 though the story Alex has a conversation with other Terran students that we never hear from again until one sentence at the very end.
    Then all of a sudden a bunch of Terrans show up and "bring their skills" but don't actually do anything except say a couple words.
    If other Terrans were at the school out tribalism would have kicked in and the Terrans would have immediately cornered the bullies and killed them somewhere, threats to humanity are not allowed to exist, it is primal.
    So there is no way they would just ignore everything going on all that time.
    Final verdict: This story is either AI generated, or written by a 3rd grader.

    To me its starting to stand out that a lot of these stories just repeat certain things HUmans are un aware of the chaos the bring unknowingly. whit this one.. hes planning its commin, hes panning one final show down one final showdown its comming the last battle its comming,.. atleast 8 inserts of "the final battle" is way to many. especialy in what the last 20 minutes? remove that and this story would be alot better. If the zarthaks or how you write is, is so honourable how is fighting 5 vs 1 honorable? also still fighting on 5 vs 1 you die, also where are the theatchers? and as sad below the other humans? Or is he the only one? And suddenly kreeka is a princess? Lol girl step up a bit earlier next time. force he could not ignore.. yea 60 or more vs what 5? Rather bably written and again, what is going on whit hte theathers no reprimands or anythings for fighting in the school, I thought Hogwarts was badly managed but this is worse realy. Would be nice if the dino people spoke more like treebeard, slow but not stupid.

    Way too much exposition. Probably because the author relied on a chatbot and doesn't know how to edit or write. Remember to show, not tell, and realize that chatbots are all but incapable of this. Also many parts of the writing are just extra words that add nothing to the story. For example "Despite Icarus's reassurance, Alex couldn't help but feel out of place." That whole sentence is unnecessary. If you want the reader to know Alex feels out of place use his body language or, better, have him repeatedly act in a way a person does when they feel out of place. "the hallways were deserted...hoping to avoid attention" should be eliminated, replaced with a story element that shows why Alex is trying to avoid attention and the act of him avoiding attention. We don't need to read that he's avoiding attention if we read that he stopped and listened before continuing to the next hallway while whispering the dialogue to his friend.
    Also eliminate almost every word that tells the reader how someone feels. If we know Alex's lips were tight and that he responded with a growl, we don't need to be told Alex was angry. If Alex is asking his friend how to act to fit in we know he's trying to fit in and we don't need to be told.
    AI chatbots are not a substitute for learning how to write.

    • @Calistarius79
      @Calistarius79 2 месяца назад

      Is there any specific reason you think they used ai chatbot? Just curious as to why you think that. Because the description does say that the story was written by a human (sure, we don't know if they used ai help or not, still though).
      And to some people those extra bits of information do matter. When I do write things I do tend to be overly detailed, but that's because details matter to me (ripping out details from something, to me, feels like ripping out vital pages in a book and trying to read it after). And when I read I appreciate more details, because I don't have to guess what they were trying to convey. If the only thing I get is "Alex lips were tight, as he growled" or something like that, I feel I could interpret that in more ways than just anger. It could be annoyance, fear, psyching them selves up, make them selves look more dangerous, or what ever else it may be.

    • @czinn327
      @czinn327 2 месяца назад

      A chatbot is prone to repeat the prompt back at you instead of writing a story for it. If you prompt, "Jessica is a new teacher. She is nervous on her first day. 5th grade. Write her entering her classroom" the chatbot might put out, "Jessica nervously entered her fifth grade classroom the first day of class". It might also repeat that sentence several times in paraphrase. Pretty useless, but if you're lazy you can just dice in a few of your own sentences and call it done. The main problem with this is the author fails to turn his exposition/prompt into a story. A human author would do this: Jessica shuffled her bag from right hand to left and back as she stood staring at the grand bricked entrance to Springfield Elementary. "It's one thing to learn how to teach", she thought. As she headed toward what she was sure was the right room she put on her best smile and repeated to herself, "nothing will go wrong. Nothing will go wrong. She found the door marked "Mrs. Sanchez, 5th grade" and, taking a very deep breath, opened it and entered her new career.
      In the second example you don't need to be told she's nervous: her actions and thoughts are nervous thoughts and actions. You don't need to be told her name or grade directly. It's incorporated into the story and this is much more engaging.
