I can't stop watching all your videos....really good stuff. I wish there was a way to flip the screen over being a lefty. The swoops are the challenge.... I may have to start to watch this one especially in a mirror which does the trick. Great music too
Brownells 555 Black Buffing Compound. The 555 compound actually does two things it lubricates the swivel knife blade and polishes the cutting edge at the same time. Good quality veg tan leather and this little leather carving tip will really make your leather carving more enjoyable. Keep honing your blade every time you start to feel a little drag in your carving.
@@cheaneysaddles thanks for replying. I'm getting started in knife making and i wanna make my own sheaths. I think this kinda work looks so much better than stamping, but I'm not very artistic. So hopefully once I get into i can figure out some designs that will look good on such a narrow piece of leather
Get yourself some scraps to practice on with a swivel knife. Two tips...Keep the swivel knife sharp, hone it after every use, and don't put a death grip on the barrel of the swivel knife. Hold it snug enough to control it, but don't clamp it between your thumb and forefinger.
Beautiful to the eyes and ears. Bending swivel knife lines like bending guitar strings. Amazing

Bruce, would that compound work on a strop ? Amazing artwork by the way!
Yes, you can embed the compound in your strop and that will work great. Thanks!
What the stuff you’d is rubs on swivel knife. ? Better than ruge and strops. ?

@@cheaneysaddles awesome! Thank you a lot.
how can we get some of your art work to train with
I will have to think about this question and get back with you.
What is that honing compound there?
Brownells 555 polishing compound.
You answered all of my questions in the description, except one. What swivel knife do you use and or recommend?
Barry King Tools made my swivel knife. I use a 1/2" barrel and a quarter inch hollow ground blade. Thanks for asking!
