Guys, anyone who wants to learn and improve, WATCH this video, please. Raisenai videos will not help you even a 10% of what this video's going to help you... Thank you Martin for your content.
Hello. Nice video BUT.... you didnt explain one thing. Once the spotting lightbulb go away, I wait another 5-65 seconds before I drive away and yet STILL get shot at, spot on. WHY?
@@Ledberg that depends, hard to say as specific reasons may change. Lightbulb is given 3 seconds AFTER you get spotted so basically 5-6 seconds is not enough. Sometimes, you are still spotted or get spotted again, or a tank with "Tracer Shells" capability (T-100 lt, for example) hits you so you are visible for 20 seconds.
@@freelance6803 What I mean is that I wait 4-5 seconds AFTER the light is off. First I get spotted, Im trapped and need to get away. So I wait til the lightbulb is out, wait another 5-6 minutes and then drive away, and is immidiately shot again without the lightbulb coming on
@@Ledberg I understand. Many times it happened to me that I was thinking to be unspotted without being the case. As we don't have a signal once it happens. Some points to consider, the tank you are driving, the equipment and crew skills. I usually drive light tanks, equipment to increase view range (Improved Optics) and crew skills at all at 100%. In that scenario, any heavy tank has a huge disadvantage being spotted.
Spotting is simple and can be broken down into two parts: 1. Spotting at the start of a game: At the start of the game its the light's or fast medium's responsibility to find the enemy. 2. Spotting during the game: During the game, it's the spotters responsibility to keep friendly guns engaged and to monitor flanks to early detect flanking bandits. You want to learn how to spot correctly? Drive a td for a few months and you'll understand the responsibilities of a spotting tank.
I understand the spotting mechanics years ago. But I still wanna see more balance in Blitz. They scaled down the map, so it's logical if they also scaled down the view range. There's no use of superior 300 meters view range of a tank, if the maps size are in the range of Heavy's view range. Blitz won't enlarge the map size, I'm sure. Keep the map size, but decrease all tanks' view range proportionally, so the meds/lights can work as they suppose to.
I think people need videos on shell normalisation, and the calibre rules. I know so many people that don't understand why they didn't pen a certain shot because of the angles and shell calibre that they're firing, despite penetration being greater than the relative armour thickness.
I think that there isn’t enough emphasis on each tanks role. I am seeing way too often TD’s screaming for someone to spot and then turn to see the lights and meds sat in bushes rather than turning light bulbs on.
I would love to see a video on where to position your tank. My teams seem to think that meds and lights should stay in bushes at the back and i disagree.
Overmatching, tried in training rooms and it works with normal shells but I think with HE there is only splash damage. Other thing is what pro nub could do during 1st 30s after counter has reached zero in each map with each tank type. Grinding turret bearings seems to be quite popular activity but it seems to lead some problems later in game since red team has already occupied all good spots.
The basics for now. You would do all WOTB a great service. I wish I had come across your videos earlier because I was a magnificent fucking disaster for more games than I care to mention. 😆
...so, if we pick the three numbers in the menu with regard to concealment, (stationary, firing,on the move camo) is that number a % of the max value,or a distance in metres off the max value. And in pc, the bushes have an affect increase when the players outline is all you can view, less if you can see the tank contours. Next one could be shell normalisation. Or penetration at distances.
Just to mention one big thing you unfortunately didn't tell: when behind a bush don't sit right in it- go 15 meters behind a bush because every concealment in 15 meters radius drops to zero when shooting. Hope that helps!
ABSOLUTE BEST SPOTTING VIDEO ON RUclips.... I have been playing this game for six years, and never have I seen a video that explains spotting as well as yours has. I'm a ( 49% ) player, and been stuck at this percentage for years... I can now see that not knowing or understanding how spotting mechanics work has cost me terribly in my game play, both in team battle losses and win rate... However, your video has given me insight that will enable me be a better player and to use the spotting info you shared to my advantage. Especially, on my light tanks... I cant thank you enough... A BRILLANT INFO FILLED video.... thanks for sharing your skill and knowledge.
thank you thank you THANK YOU for this vid! my son watched it and was like, OMG so THATS what that "ding" thingy is!... now hopefully he can become a better player! next i think you might wanna cover going hull down and peek-a-boom..? he tends to just peek...and sit there... lol
Next the ammo type... ya know..... so we can know more basic how they works properly... as even some people still thinks that HEAT and APCR is the same ammo.... lol
Genuinely appreciate your series. Probably need to emphasize "practice, practice, practice," more frequently. Also maintaining situational awareness and avoiding target fixation -- a recurring issue for me.
I think you could also talk about 15 meter rule this mean if you go back bush from 15-20 meter bush becomes like an solid thing in this way they can't spot you but at the same time you can't spot them too Yes you did this in video but you didn't mention it(or you did I Didn't watch all video)and sorry for bad English :P
Recently discovered your channel, and yet already you are one of my favourite blitz youtubers! These tutorials helped me out soooooo much and I just wanna thank you for this amazing content.
What a very, very, very nice video explaining how to spot and not getting spotted!! Did I say it's very, very nice?!!? OK, let me say it, it's a VERY, VERY nice video to learn and improve.
@Martin ... I think it would be beneficial to talk about the various skill sets that players need to know by tier 5 ... tier 8 ... tier 10 ... Im sure we all see so many players lacking the basic skill sets that allow them to be successful because they didn't learn them before getting to tier 8 or tier 10... such as this video... camo mechanics... but other skill sets like "td/heavy/med/light positioning in relation to other tanks on your team, moving with the team, repositioning, mini map awareness, hit point sharing, side scraping, hard cover, what SOS means, gun depression, why HEAT and APCR work differently on tracks, and so on... we see so many people sitting out in the open in tier 8+ trying to out dpm an entire team and clueless to use hard cover... thoughts?
This video was really helpful. Yesterday I was in the Smasher on dead rails and I was staying mid but stayed way in the rear, basically only about 25 feet in front of my spawn site. I was trying to move forward a bit to get behind a building but I was spotted literally within the first 30 seconds of the battle before I could even get behind the building for cover and I got shot twice very early in the battle. Then i finally got behind the building and reset my camo. But every time I peeked out to take a shot, I was getting spotted immediately even before I shot my gun. Needless to say I didn’t live long.
Oh one question... I just left a review but forgot to ask.... I often see other players raising/ elivating their guns after shooting or after moving... is there a reason they do this? If so is it related to being spotted or beconing invisible to the enemy? Im not sure there is an answer to this question but your help with this would be much appreciated if there is. Thank you once again... a million times over..
Hello. Nice video BUT.... you didnt explain one thing. Once the spotting lightbulb go away, I wait another 5-65 seconds before I drive away and yet STILL get shot at, spot on. WHY?
Right Martin this is a question that caused a lot of confusion on the EU forum but Minitilrose did try to answer it the best he could but his answer wasn’t 100% definitive. So let’s say you have the the Steam White with black chain Cammo and you mount it for Dessert does this effect the Cammo rating as the game says +2% to concealment corresponding to selected slot. Do you see what I am getting at, it’s a winter Cammo in a Desert or do all Cammo give the same rating?
Good video Martin. I would like to see map breakdown videos. Over here on the NA server 0707 used to do some great forum posts by map with tactics by tank class. Might be interesting to see how that would transfer over to RUclips videos.

I was suggesting that a map review for nublets and mid level players that could be helpful, ie don’t go here if there is this red lineup.
helpful videos like this would make excellent tutorials. I had a game in the t54-light where I had a 4500+ spotting damage a few weeks ago. I think that's my spotting damage record at tier 8.
I hate how horribly the leopard 1 is represented in world of tanks. First of all, it’s base round, should have 300+ mm of pen. Its premium round should have ≈400mm of pen. The HE round is the only semi accurate thing
I really do not like how spotting works in this game, especially the light bulb going off only after like 2-3 secs. But then it also works in my favour lots of times lol. Just hate it when it happens to me.
Martin i need your advice on something. I bought the wz 111 5a in auction and i forgot i had it in my garage i bought it for 15000 gold. The game seeing i already had it compensated me 7500 gold i lost 7500 gold . I put a ticket in for the problem and they said they can't help basically saying live with it. I talked to two other people in the same ticket and they said the same thing. I know there is someone in wargamming that can help me get the 7500 gold back. What is your opinion of what i should do 7500 gold is alot to lose.

I hate when you're trying to sneak around and your team mates are knocking trees down. Giving our position away 🤦🏽♂️.
Irritating, isn't it ? Lol.
You can knock down trees with HE shell, shoot to point where tree is connected to terrain.
I do it all the time to create cover. But i make sure I am out of range.
