  • Hi, this is my first time replacing the 2015 Audi HID headlight bulb. I try to give as much detail as possible on tthe steps needed for the procedure. I purchase the Osram D3S OEM Original HID Xenon Bulb from Amazon, it is cheaper $54 vs $74 compared to the Phillip OEM, and I preferred the cooler 4300 Kelvin temp rather than the warmer from the OEM Thanks for watching.
    Remember, sharing is caring.
    Cheers

I’m upset you skipped out about the other tab you need to pull up on by the electrical plug of the headlight. I completely broke my headlight housing trying to pull it out when that tab was holding it in place the whole time. Had to watch another video that explained that part you missed. Other then that I appreciate you taking the time showing us this video.

Tras ver 4 videos diferentes, encontré aquí la solución. Estaba en girar la pieza que hay detrás de la bombilla.
After seen 4 different videos i found here my solution. It was on turn the piece behind the lamp. Thanks man.

If you see this video beware - there is a clip inside the engine bay of both sides that needs to be pulled strait up before trying to remove the housing

FYI-You don't need to remove the shrod across the front. It doesn't do anythng removing it and it is not in the way.

Hey brother, thank you for the great video. I followed everything like you said (my clip on top was cracked too), and it worked like a champ. Thank you so much! Saved me a ton in dealership fees.

Hi Jeff - thanks for this tutorial. It's so helpful. I'm getting ready to do this job.
That clip on the passenger side that cracked. Can that be replaced? If yes, what's the part number. If not, how does that affect the mounting of the headlight?
Obviously I will try not to crack it... Just want to understand what I'm up against.

I don't know the part number, unfortunately, both sides were cracked, I tried to be careful on the second one, and even with both cracked, it's held up well, I have been driving as is, seems to hold up well. I don't know why it's so fragile. Good luck

Hi Jeff, I tried replacing the bulb but still didn't work so I replace the ballast as well and still didn't work. What could be the problem?

Really sorry to hear that, I really don't know when if it involved more than just replacing the bulb.

What bulb have you all used to replace the original? Did you shop via Amazon or local auto parts store?

I brought it from Amazon, this was the name for $104 OSRAM XENARC D3S HID Xenon Headlight bulbs 66340 Pack of 2 by ALI

Has the bulbs lasted? Also I have a 2014 Audi a6 Quattro and the bulb inside is the OSRAM not Philips like yours.

Hi Paul, first thing, how you found this video because I had it unlisted, so i had it only less than a year, so its still going. Normally bulb should last at least 5 years i think, because my factory one lasted about 6 years. Sorry that is all I got.

Terrible engineering. I hate this car for how badly designed it was. Changing the light bulb on my 93 Volvo takes zero tools, and takes 30 seconds.

I gave up on breaking the electrical connector. Ended up paying $130 to change to bulb. Wife was in Hospital so i did not have patience to fuss with it.
