Thank you for your awesome video. It was very straight forward and informative. I love that there was no tacky background music and no long introduction….and I’m a fellow bare footer ❤️💪
😂 Thanks! I try to keep my videos simple and straight to the point. I keep forgetting that I'm barefoot in some of my older videos, 😅😅 got called out enough I try to make sure I'm fully dressed for videos now 😂
Thanks for your video. My 3300 psi Ryobi with a Honda motor takes 12-13.5 ounces of 10W-30. It has a much longer fill spout and dip stick (don't screw it in to test oil level!), so no issue getting oil on the wheel. A warm engine will drain oil much better than a cold engine, so I run mine for several minutes, with water and pressure washing hose attached, since the motor will only idle if it is not actually spraying. Then when I drain the oil I have to hold the motor at a couple different angles above the oil pan to get it to fully drain.
Hey so no my ryobi 2900 pull handle got stuck and it won’t pull out all the way. I’ve attempted to fix this by watching your video I believe I over filled the amount of engine oil it needs. So I tilted the machine and allowed it to drip out excess. After a couple minutes things remain the same. Any ideas to what to check for? I’m mentally stressing myself out here thinking it could be worse when it may not
By the pull handle. Do you mean the rope to crank? That shouldn't seize from improper oil change. That would be the rope housing getting seized. It's pretty straight forward process, you access the rope from the top (removing the housing) and checking to see that it didn't get jammed.
Shouldn't be hard to do. Just find your model number and type that + air filter cover into Google. Should pop up something. See several old units being parted out often on ebay
Thanks for you video. I have a same brand and capacity pressure washer. I bought it used. It was okay for first couple of days. Now it runs if it is at ckoke only. As soon as I put it to run, it stops working. Could you please provide me some suggestion
It is a air fuel mixture problem. First the choke cuts the air flow to start cold. So using that we know you are not getting enough fuel. What the first step is is check your gas. Any water could be the problem. Second Look for the carb float bowl. Usually they have two screws on it. First while running give it a couple of light taps with a wrench or hammer. The float might be stuck from transport. The will help unseat the float needle that regulates fuel. If that doesn't do it back out the bolt that is not at the bottom of bowl that is the bowl drain. Check for water coming out let it drain a good bit then put it back in. Then give it a try. That fixed most small engine carb problems right quick
I was under the impression that you were never supposed to crank the engine without water being supplied to it to keep from burning the pump up by running it dry.
Can you tell me why my brand new Ryobi 3300 psi 2.5 gpm machine is stalling on me? Just bought it today and it keeps stalling out on me. It has oil and gas
@@thehousemann sweet. Thanks! Changed the filter, changed the spark plug, cleaned out the carburetor, and checked the unloaded valve, now to the oil change. Hopefully all these things will help with my washer turning off after 10 min of use.
@@thehousemann Cleaned out my Carb best I could. Didn't have wire for the slow jet so used what I could but I know didn't go down in there well, and I couldn't remove the screw from the main jet without striping it, in fact I may have a bit cause I can see some scratches on it now. So cleaned all the other parts out, put it back on, changed the filter, changed the oil, replaced the spark plug and still won't run when changing from choke to start. Would a new carb do the trick? I don't want to pour more $$ into this thing and wonder if I am just better of with a new powerwasher? I mean ethanol free gas would help it but this alone wouldn't be a solution would it?
@@bleo1017 The carb is your next best bet. Thats the issue with 90% of gas powered engines not running properly. This is why i always try to run ethanol free gas. Also another thing I do everytime is let cut off the fuel supply and let the unit turn itself off by running dry. Both of these protect and maintain the carb from gumming up. Ive always had success turning the power washer back on after 1-2 pulls, even after coming back from winter break. It's hard to tell from your comment, but are you saying the pressure washer will start while in choke, but die when you switch it over to run?
From what I gathered quickly, it's the same. If you want you can provide the engine model number and I can run it by the air filter vendor to get a more accurate answer
Mine doesn't cut off. But I noticed mine doesn't like to pressurize properly until it's run for a bit. Make sure you are bleeding all the air out of the water line before cranking the unit.
@@thehousemann Well that’s kinda what I mean…if I cut it on and try to use it right away then it will cut off…I have to let it run a little to kinda warm up or else it will cut off when I pull the trigger…

Genuine Honda oil!

If they do. Let me know so I can update the description

Yes that's fine. But not SAE 30

How after do you need to change the oil or after how many uses?
Rule of thumb is to change it once a year. I do it before using it for the first time in the spring.

I was under the impression that you were never supposed to crank the engine without water being supplied to it to keep from burning the pump up by running it dry.
That's correct. Never for extended periods as the water acts as your cooling pump

Without more info. It'll be hard to tell. Could be a multitude of reasons. Old stake gas. Air in the fuel or water lines from improper purging..
Can I do the oil change with gas still in the tank? Or do I need to have an empty gas tank?
I see no issue with doing the change with gas in the tank. It should be a closed system.

Is anyone else's start stop lever harder than else to switch back and fourth?
The red on/off knob? Or the start/run metal switch?
Don’t forget also replace the pump oil once every several years as well. It requires removal and disassembling the pump.
