I genuinly believe that if a good European country puts a bit of money in it and puts some of their coaches on it to create a female team they could compete with the US in as little as 15 years.(1 generation)
It's what Belgium did with their male team.
      It's what Germany did.
      It's what Iceland did.

19 of the winners have qualified? If there are only 8 winners. Brasil (5 times), Germany and Italy (4 times), Argentina and Uruguay (twice), France, England and Spain (once)...And these people are experts? Give me a break

    1. Germany never won the World Cup back to back.
    2. First nation who did that was Italy in 1934 and 1938 and not Brazil.
    3. There wasn`t a World Cup in 1988.

      1. He must've confused confed cup with world cup.
      2. He said Brazil was the LAST country to win the world cup back to back before Germany allegedly did. He didn't say Brazil was the first or the only country to do that.
      3. He said 1998.

      1. Could've been a slip of the tongue but I'm afraid that he really didn't know better.
      2. He was right when he said that Brazil was the last country to win the world cup back to back before he wrongly said Germany did too.
      3. He said 98 but it's not easy to make out. But he got Croatias result against Germany double wrong. It was 3-0 and not 2-1 or 3-2.

So much re-structure is needed but there is hope...For example in US Soccer history only 3 American players have gone through the Juvenil Divisions (U17-19) in the challenging Academy system in Spain (the best development system in the world) and are now playing in 3rd Division National as Seniors: 18-yr old Ander Egiluz (CD Basconia), 20 yr old Mukwelle Akale (Villareal C), and 18 yr old Hayden Canizalez (UP Plasencia)...perhaps the '99-'97 age groups is what U.S. Soccer needs to invest on.

US Academy system pales in comparison. It really sucks. The only thing worse is ODP. Now that is a shit show

He probably thought that the confed cup was a world cup. So he must've thought that Germany won the world cup in 2014 and 2017.

Yea, the women's team won the most World Cups on the international stage and they are probably the best team in the world, but they lost 0-5 to high school boys. Surprise!

The MLS league is now see it as a trash Soccer league around the world, because the level of their players couldn't qualify to the world cup! That makes the MLS league lose a lot points and the little reputation that was building in the world of soccer, those are real consequences for this failure, now some good players that used to consider to play in the MLS from Europe will never come because the MLS lose a lot points with this failure of the USMNT and those are real consequences.

USA played a bad card when they fired their coach and brought someone who has no credentials to lead on today's football world.
    Bruce Arena only career highlights:
    He won few MLS cups(!??!!)
Made to 1/4 finals in 2002 with US golden generation featuring the best player US ever produced Donovan.
With all due respect of someone who follows football and supports MLS we can't be fooled thinking that a league that has no promoting and descending system can be considered a top competitive league in the world. There is no way college kids can become world class players in enough quantity to form consecutive winning teams.
The secondary leagues will force teams to pickup players and form a base for the future.
That's the problem...MLS clubs and players have no concept of battling all season not only for the win but also for not loose. Loosing has consequences and not everyone takes a medal home.
We can't even beat the Mexican clubs for the club World Cup finals every December in Japan and this year I believe in Saudi Arabia.
Sorry, but Bruce Arena is not a world class coach his outdated and whoever is deciding the future of the USA football has no knowledge of how to create a winning league.
