  • Marakissa Homecoming International cultural festival committee successfully held the first edition of MARAKISSA DAY on Saturday, July 29, 2023.
Day-long nonstop events of sports and fun.
The day was set aside to bring the people of Marakissa together as one ad to generate funds for the forthcoming festival in January 2024.
The people of Marakissa have responded positively to this call as hundreds came to grace the occasion regardless of their age.
The event was marked by a lot of sports activities and a cultural display.
We saw twenty-two teams registered and playing in the football tournament including two female teams Rangers female team and the Black Stars female team.
Events started as early as 08:30 when Hipayu Fc woke us up with their drums and melodious Karoninka songs as they headed to the football field to face their opponent Small Marriage Fc.
Hipayu Fc and Small Marriage opened the events in a football match in which the former won and the events continued throughout the day including athletics.
Signs of unity were seen everywhere as the people of Marakissa embraced the call of participation and not competition.
The people of Marakissa are ready to strengthen the unity bond between themselves and work together to change the likelihood of the inhabitants.
This also saw our friends and loved ones from the surrounding communities joining us to make the day success.
Their presence was immeasurable and we thank them a lot.
We want to thank everyone for coming, your presence was highly appreciated, and we hope to see you in our subsequent editions.
