Thanks for the tutorials they are a great help! I was using the Mychron as a lap timer unaware of how much it could help with my karting. Probably the single biggest tool I have had to help improve lap times.
Thanks for making these new tutorials. I’ve watched and implemented every single one of them so far. It’s going to make my next race weekend even better!
@@JamesColborn I used RS3A at my last race weekend and it worked perfectly for me. 2021 was my first year working with RS2A and I didn’t use it very much so it makes sense for me to learn to use the new platform. If I had used the older platform for years then I probably would still be using it. The ability to save a user profile and customize the sectors are going to save me so much time at my next race. Especially since I’m a one man crew. Thanks again!
Do you have any videos on how to create an 'ideal lap' in RS3 ie stitch together best sectors so you can watch video of an ideal virtual lap? Can this be automated? ie macro or?
Thx but not my idea! Garmin does it with the Catalyst... seems like RS knows where the split time video slices are, just need to pull them out of the report and stitch together... how do you get inside the data to find how to extract the video sectors?
Hi! If you have a WiFi enabled device (which is most AiM systems), this video will help. If you have an older AiM device, let me know and there is a video for that too. Finally, if you have a USB device (like an EVO4S) just follow the same process after plugging in your device to the computer. ruclips.net/video/gu237ubLLis/видео.html
The system should bring all the necessary files in (incl. GPX) if you point it at the folder that has the session file and GPS file. The key is to make sure that all files are present at the same time. I don't think it'll work with only the GPX file.
@@JamesColborn thanks for your prompt answer. Do you mean I should try with the mp4 video that contains all the GPS data on its metadata? I'm using a GoPro 7.
Hi! The only data that the AiM software can read is that from an AiM device. For GoPro etc. I think you’ve got other options, have you thought about LapSnap on your phone or tablet? That will read GoPro data.

How do one use the cloud services to swap data/profiles between computers? You mention it briefly, but I can't seem to upload/download to the Aim cloud.
Hi Andre. If you have a profile with AiM and are logged in, when you are on the test database page, in the middle menu there is a cog. Click that, file profiles and as you click on a profile a second menu will appear offering you the chance to share. Hope that works for you.

@@JamesColborn Thanks James, that worked like a charm :) Are there any ways to share sessions on different computers? Saving the hassle to export/import sessions between two computers would be awsome. I think you mentioned it in a video, but can't seem to find the "Aim Cloud" Sessions even when I'm logged in on both computers.
It does not... however, you can access much data from the AiM Sports US webinars. If you look in the 'more info' section of the webinars, there is typically a link to the data/video file to work with. Hope this helps.
Hi James, I am new to this and about to start looking at data on a Formula Ford with AIM. I have installed Race Studio 3 on my PC (Windows 11) but when it opens, I have a different top list of Icons. I have no RS3 Analysis Icon (only RS2) and No Logon Account ICON. I have tried using the RS3 Manual but with NO RS3 Analysis Icon I am unable to create or register an account, what am i doing wrong?? Hi James. I managed to get around it by uninstalling the release version and installing the Latest BETA version. I now works with RS3 Analysis option and LOGON Icon
Hi Bernard. If you've got RS3 from the cd-rom provided with the pack, chances are that's a very old version. My recommendation is to look up at the top right and you'll see a cloud which - I might add - would have an arrow pointing downwards. This means there is a new version available to download. Click that and it'll get you completely up to date. Also, you could just click here too! www.aim-sportline.com/aim-software-betas/Software/Applications/WebUpdater/release/RaceStudio3-64_35276_000000_000000_20220811_154216.exe
@@JamesColborn Hi James, I downloaded direct from the AIM technologies website as I don't have a CD, might have been an old version 33604. Its working on the BETA but I will try to update to the latest version. Thanks for the reply.
Hello , may I ask the version 3.52.64 I am using now, it seems a little different from yours. There is no first preference for you, mine is the language and unit settings.
Sounds like you are first run Race Studio 3 not necessarily Race Studio 3 Analysis. I would set your preferences in the main software and then move on to the Analysis part of the software. Hope that makes sense. Thank you!
Yes. If you've got the data file in RS3A, you can add your sectors or have AiM automatically create them. Typically you will need all of the data from the session (including the GPS files) when importing the session into RS3A.
So you don't have a download button when you are connected via WiFi? Perhaps this video might help. Let me know. ruclips.net/video/gu237ubLLis/видео.html

I am so happy to have helped. I've not moved 100% to RS3A for my race weekends and am finding it's working very well.

You can create a theoretical best lap using the Split Times Report. What it doesn't do is stitch a video together but that's a great idea!
