cjfoley5 That 6-1 game was such a beatiful sight. United fans are so annoying so seeing them get stomped by the little brother (that is now the bigger brother in manchester) was enjoyable as hell
Interestingly, if that game was only 2-1 instead of 6-1, then MC and MU would have been completely and utterly tied. Not just on differential, but on literally everything. That would have led to a neutral-site playoff game to decide the title. Insane!
Massa snatching defeat from the claws of victory (while winning the actual race), Glock barely keeping it on the track in changing conditions, Ferrari being Ferrari and thinking it's over and then having a mental breakdown when things don't go their way (and smashing up a glass wall in their garage). It's insane.
Especially considering the number of points Hamilton and Massa either lost due to errors and penalties (Massa's British and Australian Grands Prix, Hamilton at Spa and Canada) or were suspiciously awarded (Bourdais penalty in the Japanese GP which promoted Massa to 6th or 7th, Ferrari team orders in China) and the intangibles (Hamilton being given an uncontested #1 role, seen as a future golden boy of the sport, Massa having to prove he could win from anywhere but pole position, being kinda useless in the rain, entering as the #2 to Raikkonen yet beating him on track most of the season, the ugliness of the previous season's Spygate). Then there are things like the Toyotas picking their strategies seemingly at random, which benefited them at times (Trulli in France) and, in the Brazilian GP... blew up in their face... and the Italian GP earlier in the year, a bonkers race won by Vettel in a Toro Rosso.
I agree Lol , but why do i have to always agree on something that only gives me bad memories. Im one of the commenters who wanted this epl title race to be on rewinder even being a man united fan and now im agreeing the Brazilian gp2008 should be as well when i support ferrari and Massa. The only time i got it my way was the .4 fisher shot and even then the lakers got hammered by the pistons later.

I'm a yank and ever since I started following the Premier League closely back in 2004 I've supported City. I grew up in northern Ohio and have rooted for Cleveland's professional teams and the Ohio State Buckeyes my whole life. I related to "typical city" from day one. I'd seen Ohio State choke conference championships and national title chances to our hated rivals up north many times. Until 2002 Ohio State had also been in a long championship drought with their last outright title also coming in 1968. I've seen the Cleveland Indians come up short in the World Series twice before 2012, and 3 times now after the 2016 WS. I watched the Browns of old implode in the playoffs and lose to the Denver Broncos in 2 AFC title games in 3 years, only to see the franchise essentially die less than a decade later when Art Modell screwed the fans and moved to Baltimore. I suffered watching the Cavaliers failing to ever get past Michael Jordan and the Bulls, and seeing them become a steady playoff team only to lose LeBron James after the 2010 season. Prior to Lebron's return to the Cavs, Cleveland hadn't had a major championship since the Browns won the NFL championship in 1964. I understand the heartache of long title droughts and clenching defeat from the jaws of victory. 93:20, May 13th 2012 was the second time in my life I got to cry tears of joy at seeing one of my beloved teams reach the summit and break a long title drought. I still get chills when I think back on that moment. I will always be a little teary eyed but smiling. I owe my love of proper football to my late friend Danny. Even though he was a lifetime Tottenham supporter, I will always treasure the memory of watching this match at our local haunt and both of us celebrating City's title drought ending with shared joy that it was at United's expense. Danny passed away shortly before midnight on New Year's Eve 2019 at the age of 37. He lost a nearly 3 year long, bravely fought battle with cancer. On his last evening before he left us, I got to speak with him briefly on the phone as we talked about seeing our beloved Buckeyes win the Rose Bowl in Urban Meyer's final game as coach. I've made friends in countless cities in the US and abroad over the past several years as I've traveled to watch football matches. Supporters of every club I've watched ask me what the Dan the Man patch on the kit I wear means. I love telling them Danny's story and reflecting on how selfless and genuine a man he was. About the way those early mornings spent together to watch games in Europe helped me heal after coming home from two tours overseas in the War. I am thankful forever for how the joy of football helps me keep him alive in my heart. I always get hugs and positive comments from people every place I've worn it. Great moments like this define the legacy of the game on the pitch, but the moments in the stands and between match days shared with other fans of the game truly define how special football truly is. Hug your loved ones, cherish each great moment with those around you, and never give up believing that the miraculous can happen.
Dude, I love these videos so much. They are the some of the greatest pieces of work I have seen from this channel (can't forget Dorktown). It's just so fascinating to understand the moments leading up to points like this in sports history. Keep it up!

I was at the Sunderland game and I’m a Sunderland fan and when we found out that city had scored the 2nd and 3rd goal we actually didn’t believe it because it was that unbelievable that they had scored 2 goals in that space of time and it took about 30 seconds for it to sink in.
i remember being in the pub when this happened generally one of the happiest days of my life and then we managed to get on with Pelogreenie and back to back with Pep, this current decade we have been the mighter manchester side

I watched this Live. I'm not a City fan, but it's the greatest match I've ever watched. Seeing all those United fans celebrating, then thrown to tears was just brilliant.
michal szerszen what's there to rewind, at half time Milan thought they had it in the bag, came out disorganized and conceded 3 goals in 15 minutes and that's it
Not as Special? It was the final of the biggest european club tournament in the world and it was one of the best come backs in the the history of sport. And to answer arturs you can break down every single match like that.
michal szerszen you got me wrong the comeback was special probably one of the best ever, what i meant to say is there is not a lot to talk about as there were no circumstances surrounding the game as it was in this video. They just magnificently came back from 3-0 down and that's it
1. Barcelona's Comeback against PSG the Champions League Semi or Quarter Finals in 2016 i think (INTENSE AS HELL!) 2. Liverpool's Comeback against AC Milan in the Champions League Final in 2005 3. Zidane's Meltdown in the 2006 World Cup Final and the Penalty Shoot Out
If they do talk about that Liverpool come back, they will definitely have to include Gerrard goal vs Olympiacos and the Garcia "ghost" goal vs Chelsea.
Incase you guys ever feel like doing another Prem rewind, another dramatic League finish was the 1988/1989 season when Arsenal and Liverpool were playing for the title, and the actually played each other in the last game, with Arsenal needing to win by at least 2 goals to win; not to mention they were also heading into the lion’s den, having to play away from home at Anfield, Liverpool’s stadium! Arsenal also won on a last minute goal. However, as an Arsenal fan myself though, I have to say there was just something absolutely magical about the City win in 2012.
Delano Callender as a 15 year old liverpool fan at the time I remember that game so well and all the emotion surrounding it after the Hillsborough tragedy. When Michael Thomas burst through to score with 2 seconds left it broke our hearts but I still think it's a better and more climactic finish than the city one

Those 13 seconds between full-time at the SOL and the Etihad were one of the champagne moments of the last ten years. City winning the title was so much more than them getting one over United. It was for every single team in the English football pyramid that had been shafted by United over the Ferguson era.
I love when you guys do videos for sports that aren't American football or baseball. I don't follow soccer, tennis, etc. so it is great to be able to finally have the context of these well known moments. Can we get more dork town or is that dead? Also what about the end of Super Bowl 34 between the Rams and Titans? Great moment.
Shut up Nitz, you're not impressing anyone. Calvin, If you're lucky, you might get to see some cricket stories some day :p I defy anyone not to get caught up in the drama of an Ashes upset- Bob Willis taking 8-43 after Ian Botham scored 149* to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat and completely turn the series is a great story even if you don't know the first thing about cricket.
Do one about arguably the greatest moment in sports history: It’s December 18, 2022. We’re in Lusail, Qatar for the World Cup final. After 120 cardiac-inducing minutes, Argentina and France have drawn level at 3. It all comes down to this penalty. If Argentina scores, they win the World Cup. If they miss, France will have another shot at glory. But before we see what happens, we need to rewind.
Watching the Chelsea City UCL final I was kind of hoping the commentator says Augeroooooo again. Not even a City fan but after all he did for his club, got so close to winning Europe too. It was heart breaking to see him go out like this.
The 2011 World Series Game 6 would be an incredible episode. So much stuff happened to get there in that game. Only thing that would ruin it is Joe Buck's horrendous call of it.
@@TheHolySC Buck did have a horrendous call. He had a vocal cord ailment and was unable to raise his voice throughout the series and likely the entire postseason. I don't fault Buck. I fault FOX who refused to sub him out for someone at full strength. Buck has grown up loving the Cardinals and I'm sure a healthy Buck is screaming his way through the 9th, 10th and 11th innings no matter how monotone you may think he is.

hey guys, another soccer related instance worth of a rewind is this years portuguese "primeira liga". historic rivalries, suspition of corruption, changes of coach, away result comebacks, both on the pitch and on the league standings and most scored goals ever for a team. Great work by the way
This could have been done a whole lot better, the crowd emotion wasn't nearly as well portrayed as it could have been, especially with the winner, the QPR reaction to the City winner after the game, there was a lot more that could have been told
I love this series!! I am a new soccer fan. Please do the 2001 Bundesliga with Schalke 04 having their only title in hand then seeing Bayern Munich take it away.
That would be great, with lots of backstory. Canada was struggling earlier in the tournament, losing to the USA and needing a shootout to beat Switzerland. Then they gave up the goal right at the end of regulation while trying to hold the lead. Crazy situation.
Not as big of a soccer fan anymore thanks to discovering football but I was when this happened. City is my team and it was our first time winning the Prem and in such dramatic fashion. man the video quality is really bad, this was 6 seasons ago...(like the actually footage of city's final attack, surely there is higher quality footage)
My fondest memory about this match as a City fan is witnessing a large number of friends (and acquaintances) who weren't supporters - or in many cases not even interested in sports - celebrating at the end with a sort of childish glee and happiness that I've never seen before or since. For a few brief moments in time, a bunch of people with different backgrounds and few things in common were hugging and singing and crying tears of joy for something that was, in all honesty, absolutely inconsequential to them. Made my realize then why I love this damned silly sport so much...

Do a rewind on the Brazilian GP in 2008.
Jacob Garrity veery good call
That's all really good. I didn't follow the season back then, so thank you for giving more detail. I hope we can get this made!
Brilliant

You’re only happy because they took it away from United and you know Liverpool won’t win the league in years
Just kidding bro what’s up? I’m subbed

AGUUUEEEEERRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I'm proud to say that Sergio Aguero made me a City fan. Thankfully, the hard times are far behind us now
i barely know anything about soccer, but I love how epic of a sport it is, and how sports just mean so much to people...literally seeing him score that goal brought a tear to my eye lol

It strikes you in places other sports simply don’t. Best game in the world.

just imagine if you were at the stadium like I was. it is til this day the greatest moment of my entire life
Seventeen Seconds calm down. I love soccer too but it's not my favorite and it doesn't strike me like basketball does. Lol speak for yourself.
You should have zoomed in on Phil Jones face at the end of the video.
Travis 😂
Dude, I love these videos so much. They are the some of the greatest pieces of work I have seen from this channel (can't forget Dorktown). It's just so fascinating to understand the moments leading up to points like this in sports history. Keep it up!
Literally my only critique of this entire channel is the weird sitting down camera angles on Weird Rules lol. Don't forget Chart Party, Pretty Good, The Worst... I learn so much about sports, sometimes ones I don't really care about.
Chartparty > Dorktown
I was at the Sunderland game and I’m a Sunderland fan and when we found out that city had scored the 2nd and 3rd goal we actually didn’t believe it because it was that unbelievable that they had scored 2 goals in that space of time and it took about 30 seconds for it to sink in.

Even thought I already knew all of this but the way you broke everything down was amazing. Like if I hadn’t known I wouldn’t be confused after watching this. Brilliant mate!!
I watched this Live. I'm not a City fan, but it's the greatest match I've ever watched. Seeing all those United fans celebrating, then thrown to tears was just brilliant.
As a city fan, everytime i watch those clips I shiver but watching this nearly made me cry. Good job.
Rewind the 2005 Champions League Final with Liverpool and AC milan
michal szerszen what's there to rewind, at half time Milan thought they had it in the bag, came out disorganized and conceded 3 goals in 15 minutes and that's it
Not as special as this game, yeah this is coming from a Man Utd fan
Not as Special? It was the final of the biggest european club tournament in the world and it was one of the best come backs in the the history of sport. And to answer arturs you can break down every single match like that.
michal szerszen you got me wrong the comeback was special probably one of the best ever, what i meant to say is there is not a lot to talk about as there were no circumstances surrounding the game as it was in this video. They just magnificently came back from 3-0 down and that's it
michal szerszen and Liverpool had 4 champions league wins before that so it was not so special as it was for city to win the less
1. Barcelona's Comeback against PSG the Champions League Semi or Quarter Finals in 2016 i think (INTENSE AS HELL!)
2. Liverpool's Comeback against AC Milan in the Champions League Final in 2005
3. Zidane's Meltdown in the 2006 World Cup Final and the Penalty Shoot Out

Nemanja Radovanovic same!! It was the round of 16 you’re right, I wasn’t sure anymore

Rewind the 1998/99 Champions League Final Man Utd vs Bayern Munich The Baby Faced Assassin's Game Winner in injury time. Or for something different Ireland vs France Six Nations Rugby Union, Final kick of the game from 42m wins the game for Ireland on the way to the title.
If he's gonna do a rugby one it will probably be Jonny Wilkinson drop goal against Australia. Longer ago and higher stakes
@@PossiblyGenii it was my first thought. But I'm Irish so very biased.
yes Le drop needs to be done.
Even from an Irish perspective, wouldn't O'Gara's drop goal against Wales in 2009 be more deserving than Sexton vs France?

England's 2 run win in the middle of the 2005 Ashes series (cricket)

Great Work guys. Thanks for having making it easy to transfer back to that day in 2012, where I was so lucky to witness that very game on the stadium with my son. What a drama. Those 13 seconds between full-time at the SOL and the Etihad were one of the champagne moments of the last ten years. City winning the title was so much more than them getting one over United. It was for every single team in the English football pyramid that had been shafted by United over the Ferguson era.
As he's retiring now, let's go back to this moment

Do one about arguably the greatest moment in sports history:
It’s December 18, 2022.
Just discovered Rewinder and now I can’t get enough. Amazing stuff. Great job!

This to me is undoubtedly the greatest episode of Rewinder. Phenomenal.
