I made a mistake when changed some parameters in the System configuration: Boot - Advanced options - Number of processors and Maximum Memory. Never change these values! After a restart my laptop was dead. Thanks God you helped me to rectify my own mistake.
After installing a ram module only increase maximum memory once and give it a restart it may show 500-600 less MB of ram usable but if you try to increase it it's gonna be this outcome

For some people these two commands might not work bcdedit /deletevalue {default} truncatememory bcdedit /deletevalue {default} numproc So you should try bcdedit /deletevalue truncatememory bcdedit /deletevalue numproc Instead, without the {default} hope that helps.

Thank YOU! November 2018,Works like a charm! My PC was restarting when entering Safe mode. YOU can choose option: "Safe mode with command prompt" then ctrl+alt+delete to restart. Cheers
0x0000008E error is usually caused by memory hardware failures and more rarely by device driver issues, viruses, or hardware failures other than your RAM. So if you have 2 or more RAM modules try to remove them and then check them one by one. Try to install those RAM modules in different slots.

worked like a charm in 2020 in win7 pro x64... i couldn't enter safe mode or command prompt so i've used windows 10 installation usb to access repair options and command prompt... the rest was just retyping your 2nd solution... thanks a lot!
i cant even get into safe mode when i try i get the blue screen that pops up for half a second then it goes away and then the windows goes back to trring to load and doesnt work, when it tries to load the windows files it gets stuck then the blue screen appears everytime

So you should try
bcdedit /deletevalue truncatememory
bcdedit /deletevalue numproc
Instead, without the {default} hope that helps.
