YES PLEASE. more videos like this. it helps to hear the rationale of your thought process as you put makeup on your face - i think these are the kinds of tips [especially color theory, from one art nerd to another] that will take a makeup look from 'this looks good' to 'godDANG this looks professional'.

Yes! Especially color theory! I tried using her interactive undertone thingy, but then I realized I'm SO bad at color theory that I couldn't even tell what color makeup turns on me! Lol, idk if it's red orange or yellow. All I know is that colors skew very warm on me!

And please do more of these type videos - loved it. We learn so much about makeup as we get older and our skin is changing. We are constantly needing to evolve. That’s if you want to stay looking amazing lol. It’s exciting and frustrating all at the same time - and always an excellent excuse to buy more makeup ❤❤

    I love these tips!
My addition is: every time you're about to shower is an opportunity to play and experiment with your makeup. Put on a hair mask, and, while it's soaking, use that eyeshadow that never quite works. The risk is low because you're about to wash it off, but the reward is high. I've become so much more confident with different formulas and techniques. Good luck❤

okay “micro mud” really made me laugh but is totally true. washing brushes is something i totally already knew but i really appreciate the reminder. it feels like something easy to just brush off as something to do tomorrow lol

I have learned so much about eyeshadow from Kackie. Makeup in my 30s is shaped by Jackie Aina's concealer technique, colors from HLP, eyeshadow from Kackie, and glitter/multichromes for my soul.

So glad your eye has healed! 💫
I was wondering if it might be related to your nails. Sometimes faux nails can cause eye dermatitis. I imagine that includes nail polish formulas, but I have not looked into that.
I have used the “same color” trick with my cheeks & eyes when I don't have time and want a minimal look. Love that you share color theory.
    ✨TY for sharing!✨

I'm now curious what your fav brush cleaners are: the deep cleaning as well as the light, in a hurry clean up products.
Also, love to see their use, and encourage folks to apply, blush, bronzer, & contour around their eyes. Also, getting the right size brushes for the real estate of one's lid/crease/brow/lashline really makes a diff. There's no one size fits all. Alas, aging has changed which brushes I use, and how I use them. My heavy hoods are even more droopy now, and the natural crepiness of my lids have given way to true wrinkles. Gotta adapt!
    Thanks, Kackie!

This is soooo helpful. I already use 10,000 brushes when I do my eyes but am more mindful about using the correct ones rather than just using a clean one. Color theory (beginners that like color, print out the color wheel to help with blending) and blending with bronzer is a GAME CHANGER. Ty Kackie!

    1) love the sexy 70s look, omg i usually don't care for aviators but you look fabulous! 2) Just want to thank you for all the eyeshadow tutelage. I finally understand shading and sculpting and apply art math more accurately. Between Robert Welsh & you especially, I have improved so much I even created several rainbow pride looks so I can make sure all the cute lady & enby & transmasc tourists (I work in cultural tourism) know I'm here and I'm queer lol. And the looks actually turned out *presentably.* Last night on a practice run (pastel matte abstract cloudy rainbow look) I almost convinced myself that RUclips needed me to do tutorials (lol, no, no it does not). But thank you, srsly, it's fun to occasionally feel pretty and to feel confident in doing my makeup as sleek or as wildly ott as I want!

the most helpful tip i’ve learned in my years of doing makeup is seriously to use smaller brushes. i simply do not have the eye shape & size of makeup models or even most influencers so using brushes that work for them doesn’t work for me. it seems so obvious in hindsight but didn’t occur to me for years and it made the biggest difference in having control and precision in my looks

Fabulous Kackie - yes, would love to see more of these videos, especially as you have more of an artists perspective to balance. I honestly don’t understand why most standard blending brushes are so large! This is something I’ve learned during my makeup journey. I maybe have a slight hooded ness to my eyes, so I don’t NEED these brushes, but I sure do love a smaller, more detailed blender. Why are they harder to find?? Everyone wants them. Rephr and sigma has them. Lots of brands do, but you have to search. I love a natural haired brush. Just wish more brands would make smaller brushes a standard. Finding really detailed and interesting brushes is one of my favorite things to do. Just secured the new Alex Anele prototype from rephr. Can’t believe it was free with purchase and that there were only 500. I can’t wait to be a part of that journey and to get the official brush as well. Super, super excited. Fantastic video. Sorry for the rambling comment ❤

This is great content. While I always appreciate your humility, it would be ill-conceived (counterproductive?) to disregard the experience of anyone who does this for a living just because she’s not Hindash or Eldridge. In fact, being relatable is your superpower and it sometimes carries even more weight. Say it with humility if you feel like it’s important to make the distinction but you deserve to believe that you are special. I mean, ow long have you been doing it already? I’ve done what I do for thirty years and have no problems telling my clients that I don’t know what’s wrong with my patients whenever I’m stumped (often)-and would never claim guru status!-but there are times when it’s perfectly appropriate to thrown down the experience card decisively. It’s not nothing and you deserve the respect when you’ve obviously earned it. :-)

Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you know that you can disinfect your powder eyeshadows by removing the pan from any sort of heat-sensitive compact and placing them on a tray in the oven at the lowest possible temp (say 150 Farenheit). Leave them in there for a few hours and all the microbes will die. You are effectively pasturizing the powders.
Admittedly, it's possible that the colors will change a bit depending on the formulation, but if you're going to throw them away regardless...
