Robby Kreiger was the sole reason I bought a Gibson SG USA with the P-90 pickups, I loved that he used some of flamenco classical guitar style on electric like the intro to Spanish Caravan and his slide was good too like on Wild Child one of my favorites!

That version sucked though, I love the film but never like Echo The Bunnymen cover the original was the best! The doors were unique to the majority of bands coming out in the 60’s they were definitely ahead of their time!

It’s weird how the 1960’s and 70’s, guitarist mainly used chords during solos…. I always wondered when and what made it change from that style of playing to the late 70’s into the 80’s where glam metal, thrash metal and New Wave of British Heavy Metal started playing more shred heavy solos that use less chords on the higher frets and more single string solos on the lower frets?
