What I don’t understand or accept is that WHY so often they couldn’t make all those sequels/prequels in a better way to honour, instead of destroy, the legacy ??
….. Disney has not only preemptively KILLED Indie’s son (apparent heir & potential successor of the legacy) brutally, but also totally WASTED Mads Mikkelsen !
1. I can’t understand why this movie was made. The plot is same with its prequel except only lacking the prequel’s 1st Act ( i.e. The war at Germania and its immediate aftermath: the overthrow of both the Emperor and General Maximus by Commodus ).
@@philiplaw4537 Me either 😅. I believe it is just for the sake of making money. As u said, the plot is highly repetitive, almost identical to the prequel, but the effects are weakened as well as the tensions among characters… What a waste of Ridley’s talent and life
5. Regarding the plot, it’s very unconvincing that Lucilla (played again by Connie Neilsen) could’ve been so stupid & indiscreet to make the SAME mistake as in the prequel AGAIN !

@ Agreed 👍. Upon the demise of Commodus at the end of the prequel, Lucius was the only legitimate heir to the throne. In case Lucius had to be in exile, how come Lucilla could stay in Rome keeping her status quo ??
An exception to such failures is the James Bond franchise, which’s rebooted & rejuvenated time and again in a more or less better way, at least not worse too much.
3. Although Paul Mescal is a talented actor and his performance in this movie is good enough, the protagonist (i.e. Lucius aka Hanno) should’ve been played by a more prominent actor so as to match the prestigious status of the prequel.
6. Lastly, I fully agree with you that this movie is outclassed by its prequel in almost all aspects except only, probably, the props & costume. So, it returns to my 1st comment : Why this movie was made in the first place ? What’s the purpose to make this movie except, as already pointed out by you, only for money’s sake ?
@@wildwildy1813 The 4th was already degraded with an unpleasantly weird story, but at least it gave Indie a heroic happy ending (marriage with a grownup son) which he deserved.

分析精簡有point👍👍👍, 本片最弱的一環係人物塑造不夠，尤其「男主角」，無乜思想無乜性格，角色之間亦缺乏溝通，缺乏感情（可能係內容太多），不過睇Scott的戲就係睇製作，睇大塲面，視覺一流，一定要入戲院睇，值回票價
有嘅就係揭密揭密... 其實佢唔係將軍出身，根本戰力同指揮能力差過maximus N倍...
完場嗰刻已經知道2集唔同級數。第一集完場係好唔捨得完，第二集就覺得還好。第2集電影講到主角好似係Maximus個仔咁，呢到有啲唔明。
第二集個男主角冇乜主角樣，似咕哩多d😂，故事又唔太交代清楚，無端端Danzel Washington 殺左2兄弟皇帝😅😅😅

Mads Mikkelsen, who is an extraordinarily charismatic & imposing actor, can certainly play very well in any role of arch-villain, …..

第二集我都覺麻麻, 好失望.
其實鐘意戰爭戲既可以睇Netflix 套享利五世, 沙丘男主角做, 我覺得好睇過呢部 Gladiator 2.

2. I can’t believe that this movie was directed by Ridley Scott himself. The directing was so 平庸 that any Hollywood directors would have done better.
