State governments are worse at least councils are at a local level, where residents can participate in meeting it's the selected CEOs that weild all the power that need to be held on check.
As a ‘legal’ immigrant, stop messing with Australian culture, laws and lifestyle. THAT IS WHY WE CAME HERE. PLEASE LEAVE AUSTRALIA AS AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺 I LOVE AUSTRALIA AND IT’S UNIQUENESS !!!!!!
Australia Day should be a day of unity to bring all AUSTRALIANS together for a better future. Anyone using 26th Jan for any other purpose is not Australian.
We have to remember when the 26th of January was chosen as a universal day of celebration back in 1994, the majority of the new migrants have made Australia home since that date.
There's the Australian flag, everyone is in it including aboriginals. The Australian values are relaxed easy going, mateship, a fair go, working smarter and ingenuity, Larrikinism, drinking beer and simple BBQs and have a common sport interest. If you don't have something in common, pick an AFL team and have something to talk about. Everyone is your "mate" giving them a fair go until they do something to offend you, and then they're a "dickhead" and you don't have to be a mate anymore. When you become an Australian citizen you're now an integrated Australian so we don't need the American style "such and such background-Australian". It's a multicultural society with a cohesive shared culture above that. So when you come to Australia try to leave conflicts at overseas. This helps people to get along without needing to do America's woke culture ideas. So it's a much more relaxed place to live. We leave the past behind and embrace the future so we can get everything working.
Absolutely agree, that is what Aus USED to be, what it SHOULD be, sadly the nippers have become more like useless Sepos, woke wankerism strongly ingrained in them, (oh, anyone under 45 is a nipper to me!), and the shit for brains Govt, and pollies are willing to suck and swallow to keep their perks and authority. You are so right, there are no Abo Aussies, they are Aussie, and so very lucky to be so. Yeah we have our Wogs, and bloody love em, and they love us Skips! Everyone's either a mate or an arsewipe, pick a team, except the bloody pies), and be proud of our flag, our heritage, (all of them equal), and especially our Diggers!
It's a pity that more councils don't do this. Our local council member tried to bring a motion to ban Drag Queen Story hour at the local library and is now being "investigated". 😡
All councils should be made to stick to 26th January each year, my local council col has do e a survey of 10.000 residents(???) Results at meeting tomorrow(24th) should be interesting outcome hope the responsible minded people asked voted the right way(26th) one and only true flag, 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
What about the war on our freedoms with the Digital ID, Misinformation, and Surveillance laws, most who fought these wars for "freedom" wouldn't" want to return here.
Councils should never, ever, ask the people what they think and want! If they do that, anything could happen! For goodness sake keep democracy out of it! ….Seriously, leave Australia Day alone, do not change a thing.
Welcome to my country. I'd like to acknowledge the early pioneers who came to this country over two hundred years ago and developed an almost uninhabitable land by establishing farms, roads, schools, hospitals, towns and cities, railways, ports and harbours, universities, health clinics, telecommunications, factories and industries, warm (or cool) comfortable homes, shopping centres, a reliable abundant food supply, libraries, clean water, electricity and gas, airlines, the mining industry ... the list goes on. Welcome to my country.
G'day, this a national issue. The most important day across the land, (mind you ANZAC day is close). It's not for an isolated dickweed council to even conduct a survey in the first place, .... what .....to give some numb nut or two something to do at rate payer's expense. Or, make a departure from the national collective, which incidentally, in turn, would interrupt services on more than one day, depending on ones business in given areas; might not sound like much, but when you're on the receiving end, can be a bastard. And while I'm at it, standardise any other state hols not in national alignment too. In any case, 60 odd % of such a small sample is hardly an overwhelming result. And, btw; dont start me on this "welcome" BS you gave air time to recently. I welcome those that I absolutely KNOW are good people into my house with open arms, regardless of ethnicity, we dont need a bluddy lip service ceremony. What we do need is a trickle feed with the strictest of guidelines. Admittedly, I dont have the figures for "imported crime" for the last few decades, but gotta say, ....... it must be humongous !!!!! ..................... welcome ; ( Cheers Duke.
The question is: What do the productive members of Australia think? Those on benefits or dodgy grants really should not be getting financed by governments to politically undermine the state. It is like someone sitting in a chair and then sawing off the leg.
@@kevthecontrarian1614 Don’t change the date to appease the aboriginal population. Too much grovelling to that demographic already, especially with that “welcome to country” B.S.
Asking Australians what they want, feel should be the way -not for Gov to decide behind closed doors
Get rid of councils. They are useless.
State governments are worse at least councils are at a local level, where residents can participate in meeting it's the selected CEOs that weild all the power that need to be held on check.
So the councillors don’t want to lose their positions with the next elections.

Australia Day isn’t a council thing
Lets be proud of our Nation and its heritage, before we lose it!

Australia Day on the 26th of January was selected in 1935.
Good on ya Adelaide !!!!!

We will have Australia Day whether they like it or not. I know of one town doing that after their Council tried to flex their woke muscles.
Oh my god who invited Joe Hildebrand 😳

Desperation...They know they are going to be voted out.
Hyperflog and his aliases won't like that.
Good move Adelaide, 26/01/ EVERY YEAR, Australia Day.
They're trying to shift the focus away from more important matters with this BS.
So can we now expect this from our Councils all over. We the rate payers must start by taking the bull by the horn. You lot work for us we pay you.

That is a good idea, and all the other councils get onboard...!!
All the more reason to EXPAND Australia Day, not wind it back. Leave the 26th alone.
Disagree with the young girl !!!!! The historical date is NEVER to be changed !!!!!
