I have followed your reviews on various products. The product for coffee has always been Keurig. Had different models. But lately I am getting tired of spending money on pods (I know you can use your own coffee) but after the coffee brews the drip tray has drips even long after I shut the machine off. Do you know why? I am going back to Hamilton Beach coffee scoop. I like the fact I can brew strong coffee. Do you know if this model is being discontinued? Also I think the K Cups coffees is not the same when they first came out. The flavors aren't there anymore. I don't use sugar only coffee creamer.
I've had this little guy for several years and I loved it. I used it for a little over a year, when my employer installed a real coffee bar in our cafe that offered free drip coffee from Peet's, Starbucks, Stumptown, Verve, etc. So, I stopped using The Scoop. Later, after I got laid off, I went to just going to Peet's most every day until I started a new job that didn't have coffee available. Enter the Aeropress. I really liked the coffee this produced, but it took a lot of experimentation to get right amount of beans and the grind just right. I used this until my boss asked me to make coffee for everyone. Next was a Bonavita 8 cup drip coffee maker. I used this one for the better part of two years. It always gave me a good cup of coffee. But then most of the staff that liked their morning coffee left for new ventures and I was the only one left who had coffee daily. This left about two thirds of my 8 cup brew wasted. Then my boss brought in a Keurig K-Elite so that we would only brew what we used. I really enjoyed this coffee maker for many months until I began to feel bad about all the k-cup pod waist. So I started using the My K-Cup Universal Reusable filter system. Now with this I can fill the pod with whatever kind of coffee I want and not have so much waste. But it is not as convenient as the already prepared pods and clean-up was more of a hassle. It reminded me of a slightly more complicated, maybe a bit more versatile Hamilton Beach Scoop! After taking my Scoop out of storage and giving it a good clean, I"m now using it again almost exclusively. I've gone full circle and find that the simplicity, ease of use and easy cleanup are well above par of the previous coffee making experiences I've had. Plus it brews a very good cup of coffee!
I just got one of these at Goodwill!! 14.99!! How much vinegar to clean it? The rubber gasket comes out also. Mine was coffee stained but it's all clean now soaking in vinegar. Just had my first cup! No sediment in my cup!!!! Looovvvee it!!☕☕☕☕☕☕☕
I loVe 💕 my Hamilton Beach "The Scoop"! I purchased this coffeemaker last December during the Christmas Holiday sales at Walmart. You can add a pinch of of your favorite spice inside the tiny "scoop" within the BIGGER SCOOP to add flavor to your coffee! 😊
@@JustADad It does not have the hard line option however pouring water in does reduce the noise of a hard line. Yes that grinder allows for adjusting the settings of grind size and timing behind the front covers. Also available is a turkish grind set of burrs. Prior, I was using the Bodum burr grinder.
It appeared in the one clip that the first bit of fluid that came out was clear water and then a few seconds later became more brown. Any idea how to prevent that?
Trying to decide between the Instant Pot solo and The Scoop. Believe it or not the scoop is only $10 dollars(current price Walmart online) less than the solo. Given that there is such little price difference. Which coffee maker would you go with?
Thanks for the grat review. I'm wanting to get this coffee maker, but right now there's no free shipping to my country, so it would cost me almost twice of the price. Do you think I should wait if there's free shipping available soon, or should I just go for the Chulux Single Serve which seems also a nice single serve coffee machine and also might fit my needs (I don't use K-cups, so I would use the reusable filter cup that comes with the machine) Thanks!
@@JustADad Thank you for the answer. I already ordered the Chulux since I am not sure if the Hamilton would be available soon or not. I don't think I'm going to regret my purchase since it seems to be a pretty decent coffee maker, and I honestly don't need more than 8 to 10 oz of coffee each time. I might get the Hamilton as well in the future.
The finished product was not coffee. That was a dessert my friend. Hard to judge how well something makes coffee when it's completely inundated with cream and sugar. Other than that, good review. Learned some about my new machine.
If you like this machine it seems to me that you have never tasted a good coffee in your life. I had it and just yesterday I returned it. Coffee, when made, even the slightest quality coffee has to come out with foam. The coffee produced by this machine is like a tea, like an infusion, totally watery. The design is nice but the result is absolutely horrible for the price it costs. I wish I could put the pictures of the cup with my previous coffee maker and this one.
In addition, to make a little coffee you have to use a lot of coffee because it has a gigantic scoop, so if you want to save on capsules you're going to spend a lot of money on ground coffee.
@@nagaal2012only espresso shots have the "crema" you desire. This is BREWED coffee, my friend. Stick to espresso shots or Nespresso if you want that foam, which btw is just aeration. This machine is not brewing on pressure like that of espresso machines. Do some research. 😊

I’m so happy that the brew “scoop” is made of metal!Every thing these days is all that plastic!
I just bought a used one of marketplace for 10 bucks and I like it
Great review, just what I wanted to know, thanks. Simple product that looks well made
Glad it was helpful!

Thank you for sharing the videos on Kitchen appliances. Is this coffee maker, BPA-free?
Can I put a paper filter i this?
Looking into trying this out. You still think this is worth it over a Keurig?
I’m obviously 3 years late but was just wondering where you got that travel mug bro
Yup... You had me at that travel mug as I have the same one when they first came out, still new in box! Lol
What coffee maker do you use now?
@@JustADad I am using a Bunn VP-17-2 Series along with the Bunn G9 Series precision grinder.
