Hey Matt and Will!! This is Colby at Optimum RV, it was such a pleasure to meet you and have you film here at our location. Just wanted to say that you are JUST as cool in person as you are in your videos. We appreciate you guys and what you do! Hope to see you soon!
My husband and I bought one of these a few months ago and we love love love it. So glad you are finally showing the world this fifth-wheel! It does have storage under the bed with two extra chairs under the bed. You do have remotes for the bedroom tv too, .and remotes for both fireplaces. ALSO the closet in the bedroom is so cool too. It has loads of storage shelves in it. Love the central heat and air too. Can be all electric or gas heat as well. ❤ The dinette has plenty of room now, they may have went with a slightly smaller dual recliner or something not sure. Another feature no carpet anywhere!
LOUD MATT IS BACK!! yes!!
This RV is amazing!!!
Suggestion: trim the kitchen island in the living room area and put in a large flip up counter top. It would be good for more prep area OR you could use a couple of bar stools to add more seating area with the dinette!
Also, the seats in the dinette could be actual benches since the area looks tight.
Overall, I love this unit. Awesome color/decor, bathroom and kitchen. The bedroom is great as well.
Three things I like:
• First, let’s talk about the many good things about the basement. The AC unit down there means you don’t have the sun heating up roof-mounted AC units and ducting. That may mean the AC unit isn’t going to work as hard, and you can use standard home AC filters (just remember to change them regularly). Lots of storage down there; I’d use some MORryde slide-out cargo trays rather than crawling around in the basement. I might even set up one of the door spaces under the awning with a TV and sound bar.
• Second, the storage area behind the TV might be a good place for a safe along with board games, multimedia storage - DVDs, Blu-Rays and what-not - and other things you might need for a long trip. You could even stash a printer in there. Obviously, there are other places you could stash a printer or a safe.
• Great kitchen, maybe the best I’ve seen in an RV, and with an amazingly huge pantry area. I have it in the third slot because at this price point and market target, Columbus should have at least offered the option of a dishwasher (I’ve been all over their website, and I don’t see it listed as an option).
Three things I don’t:
• It’s tall. It’s 13 feet, 6 inches, which is the legal maximum. Can I put a satellite TV receiver up there without getting in trouble? I really wish you’d gone up the ladder, because I’d love to have had a look at what’s going on up there.
• The fake fireplace and the television lift in the bedroom are taking up space that could be used for more storage drawers.
• The dinette is an issue. Way too narrow and short, almost an afterthought.
My husband and I absolutely LOVE this one! And we are going to subscribe to Wil & Jen’s channel as we are huge fans of y’all.
That said, May I make a suggestion? Now that y’all are independent, why not do a weekly live broadcast? You’d raise a lot more money via Superchats as well as gain many more subscribers. You both have such lovable personalities I’m confident it would be a grand success!
Agreed!!!
I never watch live broadcasts, don't have the time.
@@LordFalconsword Neither do I. I watch them afterwards.
I definitely agree I would love to see weekly live broadcasts
Love that you’re going to different rv dealerships! Helps out the mom and pop places ❤️
Beautiful 5th wheel!!
The amount of storage on here is absolutely incredible, legitimately one if not the largest amount Ive seen in an rv. Great design, tight in some of the living spaces but overall great. Slide out trays in storage bays would be a nice addition.
Great video as always! Awesome you guys are independent now, keep up the fantastic work.
I love this fifth wheel. It feels more like a house. I love it except for counter being too long. Too tight at the dinette. Other than that it’s a great fifth wheel. I love everything from the storage outside to everything else inside the bathroom to the bedroom. Thank you Optimum Rv and Matt and Wil for showing this Rv. Love it!
The best sit-up I have ever seen forever my wife and to full time in because we can haul all our toys to wherever we go. We love the kitchen and bathroom
Love the flat floor fiver! Just needs an elevator lift from the ground! Maybe a slightly longer one with a more comfortable dining area and larger table. I love the a/c in the basement and with some mattresses and some video game monitors, the kids would love the basement, with inside access on the side of the stairwell!
Love this home on wheels! I agree with the dislikes, the island could be shorter with a flop up extension added. Perhaps a smaller recliner, it really wouldn't compromise the comfort!
Beautiful 5th wheel! A dislike I have is the headboard. I don’t like the metal with cut outs where you rest your head when propped in bed. Love everything else!
Saw one of these at an Rv park. I had to walk around a few times, I couldn’t believe it
Absolutely loved this unit. For our future big unit if we get that far we were originally looking at the grand design solitudes with the rear underbelly trey storage. But this unit especially that same price is amazing.
Three lines
The underbelly storage
The kitchen
The bathroom
Dislikes
The gold decorations
The small living space the island could be chopped a bit
The dinette
Hey Matt and Wil, thanks for the review! "Turkey tested, turkey approved" is back! This 5th wheel is a beast! That under storage is amazing! Love the kitchen! Central air? Are you kidding me? That's awesome! Love the double sinks too! Keep on keepin' on!
Wow! I paused @0:18 to look at the floorplan (as I always do), and I already love this model! I can't wait to see the rest!
Once someone does that with a toyhauler garage, I’m sold. Love this idea. Make the garage of the toyhauler full height and make the living room area with this basement for storage. Our Keystone Carbon 418 has the worst freaking basement storage ever conceived. Thankfully though, the living room area ceiling is like 10 feet tall, since nobody in our family is above 6 feet tall…..at least we have plenty of headroom that serves no purpose.
Stunning price point. Kitchen. Bathroom+++
Pull out bed in living room way to close to fireplace, dining table a little snug, vents in floor - - -
This RV would be perfect for a family on vacation to throw all their stuff (bikes, rafts, floats, lawn chairs, grills etc in the basement. What a cool RV!
The exterior storage is amazing! Central air? Are you freaking kidding me? I really need this ! It’s a beast though! I would be happy to make this a destination trailer! Towing it too much would be stressful. Park it by a river and I’m in heaven. First time I’ve seen this gorgeous home. Found my first dislike. What’s with that toe stumper in the kitchen under the oven area? No storage under the bed! Like you need it with that much storage space in this thing. Fantastic unit. Fantastic job guys!
Matt and Will, loved the abundant storage, King bed , humongous bathroom and the twin bed fold out sofa option. I assume a F350 dualie to pull it.
+ love the flat floor plan (*)
+ like the central AC (*) More units should do this.
+ like the price
- The door needs to be up higher and some of the storage needs to be sacrificed so that the stairs are all on the outside. I'd suggest a section that slides out with the stairs sideways along it.(ie - pull the stairs OUT and then fold down the last couple of steps.) The interior stairwell is a negative as it makes the living room area feel cramped.
- Floor vents. Central AC means you can duct the ac anywhere - quite literally. Especially with a completely open storage area underneath.
- Please make a version/option with a slightly smaller kitchen and no island. You have one park model where you did this and it's one giant open floor from the bathroom wall to the end and almost feels like a small mobile home.
This has got to be one of the nicest 5th wheels I’ve seen gorgeous and price wasn’t bad either. I’m glad you where able to give a sale price
I agree with your review. This is a nice unit. Sale price is good!
What I paid for my Condo in Denver. The best thing, my Condo is now on the market for 400 grand.
News Flash... You're not the only ones who do unbiased RV reviews!!!
Hi guys. As nice as this unit is I still place the Alliance number one. With that much basement storage it needs some sliding trays. The fit and finish is so much nicer in the alliance. They just take the extra step. Anyway so glad your independence is taking off. Great that dealerships are open to your ideas. Keep it coming. I love watching. 👍💜
Check out New Horizon fifth wheels. They are the Newell of 5th wheels. ruclips.net/video/9BGi-_c8rJk/видео.html
Absolutely beautiful. Love the storage and restroom. All it's missing is a bunk room.
They make a bunk unit too. It’s the 392. Spectacular! Kitchen is shrunk in size to make it possible. Looks same from outside.
Having the RV "live" with power was great
This 5th wheel is almost absolute perfection to me. It’s perfect for full time living……for me!! Yes, just me, alone. The only thing I’d do is make the island smaller with more room in the living room. If they’d change that it would be perfect.
We stopped in Michigan and checked this RV out and also the CBus RR 392 with the mid bunk. Awesome RV. Found a few things we didn’t love. The gold color decor and handles , the headboard on bed. Otherwise it’s great. Yes that’s the Residential 2 ton ac unit mounted in the basement. The air filter is a common box filter abs it’s accessed from the end table beside the sofa. To be able to make a full length basement they pulled ac off roof and raised ceiling height, gave it a flat floor thru entire unit, and still keep exterior height the same as regular full profile Rvs.
The mid bunk 392 has slightly smaller kitchen and bath to accommodate the bunk area.
THATS A GREAT PRICE on that 5th WHEEL!!
Love this unit and the storage. I know why they used schwintek slides because there is no frame to attach a rack and pinion slide. However I’ve had very bad luck with that type of slide. That’s an automatic no for me.
No way no how.
Great review guys.
The mother in law basement is great and the central air is awesome. Leaves room for a ton of solar on the roof. Needs a slide to cover the entrance like a motorhome.
I love how this RV looks like from the outside! I dislike that it is too big for us. That outdoor storage is amazing. Loved the bathroom. Livingroom/ kitchen area is as you said.
Looking at the plan and then hearing the "don't like about the LR", realized that the problem is with the pantry and the window next to the pantry.
If the pantry was taken out and the slide-out in the kitchen extended to the back wall of the removed pantry. Then the pantry space could go in the slide-out area and the island could move about 3 feet towards the front of the unit. This would add 3 feet of space into the LR.
There is also no reason that the recliner unit center arm storage piece could not have been made much narrower to allow more room in the dining table area.
Two extremely simple improvements that would have erased two of Matt's dislikes and totally improved this 5th wheel.
Dual cup holders with arm rest space is really nice though. I’m 6’ and 250lbs and had no problem in dining seats.
Wow, nice unit. Great kitchen, bathroom and storage.
Now imagine a front/rear kitchen/living area on this style of 5th wheel.
This is a workamping machine especially if your doing like a full mobile rv tech business/job, you can carry tools and equipment that is needed and in excess too.
Dang Matt, you're really bringing it with this RV!!! LOVE it and will probably call tomorrow about it.
If only it was a bunkhouse. Look forward to you showing more options for large families.
The closet space is pretty bad ( I guess you could always store your clothes in the basement )
get rid of one of the sinks and make it a linen closet.
Double sinks in a couples trailer is just stupid
This thing is a beast. 18,000 pounds and 13'6" high,101 inches wide. That's literally the standard height and 1" less width of a tractor trailer right there. The Sale price is really nice but you'll be doubling that by getting a beefy dually or freightliner just to haul this
We bought one of these and we haul it with our 350 Ford dually. Pulls great.
That is some insane storage space, I think that's the best RV I've seen. Love it. Only thing that I don't really care for is two sinks in the bathroom, really don't need them in an RV.
This guy cracks me up- every time I hear its “art deco.” I’m about to make a video for him to show him what the Art Deco style is/was- LOL
Doing great Mat and Will.
Likes: just 1 like
1. Everything !!!
Dislikes: just 1 dislike
1. It's not mine.
This is really cool. Would of liked to have seen a slide out tray or two in the huge storage. Even though it is air conditioned (what about heat) you still have to crawl around in it. I agree with Will push the island over. There is dead space near the pantry anyway. Would like to see that table area bigger as well.
Holy smokes! This travel trailer makes me want to full time in this unit! LOVE the kitchen and bathroom and storage! I dislike nothing!
It's good enough for full-timing 👍
That kitchen and bathroom are nicer than what's in my house!
Loved the kitchen! But I also want more space in the living area..I guess you have to compromise somewhere
This is a super huge trailer. I’m in total amazement. Those theatre seat are super spectacular. Great review dude!!!
Maybe omit the table and add the little side tables that can connect to the arms of the recliner and couch. But it is very nice!
It would be the perfect unit if it had a rear kitchen and middle living. Then it could have a chef's kitchen!
Another great review. There is a spelling error in the title of the video. But it's been crazy for you guys so no worries.
This is amaziang! I don't mind the living area small since we don't hang out often in the RV, its only for rainy days.
i would say the window by the pantry is wasted space- and could have been a flip up counter or solid counter if they moved the kitchen down more to expand the living area
Watch your head!! 👍 Love this unit.
Hey Guys you missed one important feature. In the master bathroom there is a panel on the wall. You are able to preset your shower temperature. Set and forget with memory for another person.
Looks awesome. Just too heavy for me looks like it should have a 3rd axle to me.
First plan experiment. They will need to fix the things Matt and Will mentioned for it to be a really great RV. Wonderful bathroom. Out of bounds garage. But window by pantry should be cabinets in some form or fashion.
That bathroom is AMAZING 🤗
Beautiful unit love all the storage
Will surely surrounded by beauties in the family, wife & sister maybe more 🤩
Love the travel trailer. Cant imagine what size motor to pull that beast
The pass through "Mother in Law" quarters are next level!
Love the Unit
Only dislike the air vents are right by the stove catching everything
I like air vents on the sides of the island
VERY nice!!! Beautiful! 👍
That’s an amazing price for what it offers. Nice job guys.
Awesome unit.
Nicely appointed.
No dislikes.
Love everything about it.
Great review guys.
I guess at MSRP for every video, usually close. But this time, I was way off.
I guessed at lower 200,000's.
So awesome price.
Likely need a F350, or 3500, right?
Matt and crew, how about doing a Forest River Grey Wolf Special Edition 20RDSE Travel Trailer with No slides. Nice little trailer with rear living area, it's in everybody's price range. Please??? Thank you!!!!
100% agree with your likes and dislikes. I noticed the same things right away. My additions are that the televator in the bedroom was also really noisy, like something was broken or it couldn't handle that big TV. Also it looked like the closet next to the bed would be really difficult to get to, made even worse if you have a W/D on the right side.
On the plus side, what about that central A/C? How was that not a like?!
This is fantasy land for someone in my income bracket but it's interesting to see. Good job, guys.
just a shout out to say job well don fellas! I loved the RV.
I didn't hear "Potable! Potable!" 🤣
I think that stair cage is a great idea
Love it!! ❤️❤️❤️
K... so independent now... I missed that. I've been reaching out via the website for a sales person contact in Michigan but that's not going to do any good I guess. Oh well. Was hoping to buy through you so you got credit since I just bought a brand new 3/4 ton solely for the purpose of a 5th wheel.
It is different and some nice things. I am not big on the gate but might get use to that. The table is way to tight for my liking.
I absolutely love this!!!!
My only dislike is how tight the dinette is. Otherwise, love it.
A beautiful trailer I just wish in the front they'd have that window open to let it have window with a reading nook and a fireplace in the bedroom so the king size bed that you can actually walk around for that price you'd like to have that you would think thank you for sharing you guys are awesome ❣️❤️🌹🖤❣️❤️❤️❣️❣️🖤😁🖤❣️❣️🌹❣️🖤🤠🖤❣️❤️🌹🤠❣️❤️🌹❤️❣️🖤🤠🌹🖤❣️❤️🖤🤠🖤❣️❤️🤠
I love this, wish it had been out when I bought mine
One dislike: the dining table and swivel chairs…no room between chair and table. Not happy about the floor vents, especially between stove and sink, but not a deal breaker. Love the King size bed, plenty of room for hubby, dog and me! Very nice overall, and the price is great!
Very nice indeed; especially the central air conditioning. Finally somebody ditches those stupid roof units
one dislike would definatly be pulling this unit, it's tall, and center of gravity has to be way off in a wind storm
Take a look at all 41-45 ft 5th wheels, surprise, they are all the same height. Now take a look at what is on top of most 5th wheels…air conditioners! now compare your centre of gravity theory, how is this one so much worse than all the others when the AC isn’t even on the roof here. And All trailers are at risk of flipping in a ‘wind storm’. Normal winds, it’s no big deal pulling a 42ft trailer.
The basement is just amazing. Can be a small apartment lol. Very nice but counter in kitchen so very long and little living room. For a couple it’s perfect though. Would like to see some bunk room trailers eventually. Thanks guys
I would love to see something like a motorized floor section that drops down to the ground, creating an actual usable basement/bonus room. Imagine if the sleeping area/bathroom had a second secret room underneath it for the kids, like a reverse pop-up trailer. When it's not in use, it hides in the storage area and there is a cover for the stairs down.
Cool. So many great options. Is there a 35 foot version ?
Love the RV. Also love the trash can.
For price....the best
Only two dislikes, air vents in the floor and to many stairs, too many likes to list, kitchen, bathroom, storage and no roof AC to compromise roof integrity just to name a few.
Matt, do you really know what a Westlake tire is???? LOL. I have never seen you not love a tire. That's a BIG 5th wheel. Very nice. And the price is not bad for what you get. A 50" TV in the bedroom? What are they thinking people are going to watch in the bedroom?
Dislike the too tight dinette and floor vents. Two in front of stove area. Also the gate around stairs. Love the bathroom.
The recliner needs to be moved to the right, so there is more room for the dining chair.
Maybe Optimum RV has a Columbus 1492 that needs reviewing while you all are there.
I was super excited to see you doing a video on this unit because I just put a deposit on one. I was also super disappointed when you did not get up on the roof 😩 that’s what I was waiting to see. Maybe you should invest in a Drone? Also you did not seem to know much about the unit… not a good thing when you are doing a Review. I still enjoy your videos but miss Andrea .
I noticed the drawers in the island are dove tailed.
Almost but it' no Montana. Bathroom is very nice but the dining area needs improvement for us larger folks.
Montana's are junk and overrated. If you want a real full-time 5th wheel, New Horizon is the place to go. A true full-time trailer that are fully customizable like a Newell coach. Set you back a 225 grand and up, but you get what you pay for. ruclips.net/video/9BGi-_c8rJk/видео.html
How tall is Will? I’m 6’7” and find many interior heights are a little low. Love your reviews please include the interior heights for us taller RV’s. Thanks
That is about what a 23’ airstream costs. Makes one wonder about the build quality
Airstream isn't built as great as one would expect; not at all like they once were.
Airstream simply overcharges, as do many others. Some of this, though, is that a flat floor plan basically means it's not much more to make than a normal trailer. They pretty much took a normal travel trailer, raised it up 3 ft, and added a 5th wheel hitch. Huge storage as a result.
Forest River crap is what this is.
Definitely a nice "cargo" 5th wheel when you just have a ton of shit to carry, but that floorplan isn't quite the best. I think if you want to see nicer you should look into a DRV Suites 44 footer - their floorplans are better laid out, avoid use of halls that waste space and are a lot more practical.
Of course if you want the absolute MONSTER of towables you cannot beat a SpaceCraft 57 foot semi trailer. That's your rolling Penthouse right there. Good luck finding a RV site that will take you in with that though... along with the badass KW900 you'll be towing it with LOL
