Great video. Since you pointed it out, I have noticed that 80s and even early 90s Japanese cars payed more attention to detail. I think attention spans are too short for that kind of stuff today. The materials were cheaper but somehow at the same time the build quality was better.
Looks like it's got the factory option ABS too! Impressive for mid 80s. (ABS was an option from 85) That cut out on the GT Auto Spoiler is to make sure it clears the intercooler duct.

Back in a year 1992 only me and another guy ride this 1988 R32 in Malaysia...nice RB20DET Engine boosted up to abt 1Bar balanced by BOV...the most interesting of this car that the author didn’t explained abt this model are the rear wheel doubled wishbone and the easiest manual side parking car in the world ever ....I will tell you why?

Love this! So many 80s cars didn't stick around! IF they were fast-ish they were usually heavily modified/raced to bits. And used cars were massively undervalued with such easy financing for new cars pre-bubble-popping... and with so many new cars, used ones had no real value for a long time, so very few people would have bothered to restore/maintain what would turn into "80s classics."

You could import an R31 into Finland from Australia but it would cost a bit more than Japan but you can get an R31 here for quite cheap but the Wagon R31 is rare.
Are you sure it's 1988? Apart from the 88-89 tail lights, everything else is 85-87; NICS, front grille, upholstery, GT Auto Spoiler switch, Climate Control sliders.
I haven't heard of that car so I googled it and it looks like you are right. The wheels look similar but with a slightly different inside part near the centre caps.
i've been told by someone else that the 200sx (canada) of the same era had turbofan style wheels for the turbo model, but i could not find it online...
Yes Gary. I used to do the push-style but some hoods are not strong enough to withstand the pressure and will bend. Better to be safe than sorry. Then once you get into the habit, it's second nature.
I don´t get it. I have a brochure from 1986. If you convert it it would be 1985 but back than it didn´t have HICAS because that came in 1986. And HICAS is in the brochure. Anyway on the RB20DE(T) it says NICS (and NDIS) and in the sketch left of it it says ECCS also. But ECCS came after NICS. I´m confused. Sadly I can´t read Japanese.
SvenQ45 yeah the RB20E + RB20ET (both SOHC) came first, then when the coupe first came out in 86 they came with NICS. It wasn't until mid to late 87 that they switched to ECCS. So yeah... Confusing

I've got the 1985 release booklet which was before the coupe and it only mentions the upcoming NICS. The Japanese had a lot of issues with it and dealerships were overrun with people with problems so I've heard. I guess a check on the VIN would explain it. Build numbers up to 70000 would be NICS at a rough guess

Shouldn't drop the hood like that. Lower it down, and then place your palms on the top and give it a slight push and it will go down and lock.
