I love how Man Ni of all people gave the shovel talk for Xiao Qin. She's such a great friend! The writers of this show really know how to make their characters believable and lovable. There is so much depth in every situation and relationship ❤

No, they've always known each other. Xiao Qin came by Gu Jia's house in the early episodes when Gu Jia's son did horribly on the school entrance exam - that's when their relationship was introduced.
they were friends since college, and Gu Jia moved into a residence thats sort of managed by Xiao Qin's company. Nini's shop is part of Xiao Qin's mall so that's how she knows Nini and later introduces Nini to GuJia and the three became friends.
