I really appreciated your personal outlook on the doctor and rogu’s (very short) relationship as well as you were general outlook on it. I’m gay and it’s nice to get supporters especially with something like this because Doctor Who has been a big part of my life since I was a kid.
Of course! (and Happy Pride Month!) I'm glad the Doctor can be a hero to everybody and is inclusive to all. THAT is what makes not just this character, but this show so important!
This Doctor is supposed to be more willing to feel all the feelings due to the emotional healing that #14 did. So, fall in love quickly might be a stretch, but he absolutely fancied Rogue and could feel the mutual chemistry.
I do agree, but there's still something about Rogue I can't stop the thought that he is something else we're not getting the answer to yet. I wonder if we'll get that something this season or next...I'm guessing the latter.
I took it like this: After the Bigneration the doctor got rid of his emotional bagage (for now) so he is free to feel attraction and love again. The Rogue could basically be an old doctor (figuratively): He is a lone soul who best functions with a companion, but right now he is not in the right headspace to get a new one until he meets the doctor, and it just clicks. He is brilliant, a natural leader but emotional divested. I'd compare him with the 9th doctor?
wow...I really like that thought! He's no longer behind the centuries of walls he built to protect himself, he's a fresh, new man who WANTS to experience those things! Yes, possibly just another being like the Doctor who just went around helping and they never ran into each other until now? That would be so cool!
I really like Rogue. It’s nice to have a fun episode again after the two rather heavy ones previously. I know there are many times when we’ve seen one-off characters that said they’d return but it really feels like we’ll see Rogue again. And I really like the chemistry that Ncuti and Jonathan Groff have. It took me a rewatch to buy their romance. Whenever he’s fallen in love, it’s always been either with a companion or with a one-off character reluctantly. It's never so quick and so obvious. It took him forever to admit his feelings to Rose, River, and Yaz. That being said, I liked the chulders and that they just ended up maliciously playing. I love the _Caberet_ reference they make. I never believed for a second that Ruby was dead… again. At the rate she’s going, she’ll beat Rory’s record for deaths. And it was really funny in a really meta way to hear Kylie Minogue’s “Can’t Get You Out of My Head”. I almost wanted the Doctor to reference Astrid as a character directly.
Ya this feels like a character RTD is cooking on, he'll make another grand entrance possibly in season 2 or 3. And right, it feels different with Rogue, like the Doctor was drawn to him, so I can't wait to see what tat becomes! haha ya Rory and Ruby (both similar sounding as well) are definitly going to be going head to head for that record lol I did like the Chulder, I just hope they take a bit more time on the masks next time around lol
I don't think we will ever find out where The Fugitive Doctor (Ruth) takes place in the timeline because it's Chibnall's creation and I think RTD wants to keep it vague as much as possible if you notice the scene where they were showing all the previous Doctors they were shown in the wrong order purposely so they don't put Fugitive before or after Hartnell that will forever be left to your own interpretation good thing too. If you also notice if you pause slowly there's another face which alot of reactors seem to keep missing is Richard E. Grant the Shalka Doctor whose added in there who was never considered canon.
I DID like how they were out of order! Which makes me believe we are going to dive into the numbering system, especially with the inclusion of Grant (which I myself completely missed lol) which I think we're gonna call the Dimensional Doctors- if Rogue is lost in another dimension, The Doctor may start hopping dimensions himself and re-intereact with them!
oh so the actual Bridgerton show incorporates modern songs? I honestly did not know that! So that make sense for this episode then, but I also think it tells at something or someone else breaking through to The Doctor and Ruby's reality, which goes with my theory they aren't in the real universe...idk, but we'll be finding out soon!
A good episode, im sure Rogue will be back...could his ring be a tracking device? I think you were right, he was able to push Ruby out the trap as it was set for 6, so rogue jumping in made 7. I also think theres something up with the Tardis, it groaned when rogue entered, it was the same noise it made in the devils chord after maestro did something to it and the dr said that was wrong, then they skipped right over it. We will see..
Ya they focused on the ring too much for it to not be anything important...and even Rogue 'proposing' to The Doctor was a VERY Doctor-y way of handing a companion something important without bringing attention to it while also solving a problem. I know this is a long shot that won't happen...but what if Rogue is a River Song regeneration? Rogue/River, ...idk!
@DFQreacts I don't think so we know all of Rivers' regenerations, from little girl into Mel, then Mel into River, then she used up all her regenerations to bring the Dr back after killing him in let's kill Hitler. But you never know, this is RTD!
@@DFQreactsRichard E Grant is the 4th face, played the 9th Doctor in the comics just before the 2005 reboot, an aristocratic version that puffed on an asthma inhaler
I did after, but I missed it during the episode! So that makes me wonder if RTD will bring in some of the 'alternate universe' Doctors in some capacity.
Thanks, CJ! But you know, I've seen so many sources saying its this and that, but I'm just going with what The Mouse says and they're counting Church on Ruby Road as episode 1 lol
I love the flirty and emotionally available Doctor. But the romance between Rogue and the Doctor was way too rushed, it would have felt more real if it was over a few episodes. Instead it went from total strangers to, now I'll sacrifice my life for you, in a matter of a few hours. I don't buy it. The Bridgerton setting and time-travelling alien cosplayers was very, 'yawn, that's sooo boring, It's causing me chapping', as Lindy Pepper-Bean would put it. Least favourite episode so far.
See thats why I think Rogue will be something or someone bigger, BECAUSE of how quickly the Doctor fell for him, I don't think we'll get payoff for a season or two though. It was the weakest of the episodes so far I think, but thats not a bad thing, after what we went through the last few episodes this felt like a nice breather.
@@DFQreacts Maybe the Boss Rogue mentioned is the same one that Meep mentioned. So maybe we will meet him again when that story arc is played out. With the chemistry they had wouldn't it be a hoot if Rogue turned out to be a regenerated River Song.
I think Rogue is a Time Lord. It's not so much about the Doctor being gay but for 61 years the Doctor was nothing more than an a-sexual ancient alien who travelled in time and space who never had the time or wasn't remotely interested in romance or sex the Doctor is an alien he should not have the same emotions as a human there was never 1 hint that the Doctor falls in love with anybody that crap started with the TV Movie then RTD adapted to it who i'm sadly starting to lose respect for at the moment i never even liked the romances between the Doctor and his companion because he's an ancient old man and his companions are teenage girls or young women and human that always seemed off to me in my opinion the Doctor shouldn't have romance around all example the Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) story City of Death "Oh your a beautiful woman...probaly" which shows how little interest in romance he is and very alien all if that is missing and this is run by Disney so the american writers and audience do not understand the character, Jon Pertwee in past interviews even said the Doctor is not a romantic figure there just making the Doctor like everyone else and it's boring.

The "half a pint of shandy," line was actually an insult.
