It's lowkey hilarious you got hit with the "passengers are suing you" event immediately after unlocking the USA - "Welcome to America, Land of the Lawsuit!"
The problem I had with free play is after like 80% of all countries, there were too many planes going about all the time, and it was unplayable laggy. Focus on reducing numbers of planes for the smaller cities around each hub, and making them higher levels - it put 2 to all my locations at level 3 or 4, id recommend eventually getting 1 on each line, level 5 or 6 eventually
100% this. Even at roughly 30% of all countries you start to notice the lag. By around 50%, popup messages will sometimes completely freeze the game for 30 seconds. Any time you make a new connection, the game lags hard for a good 10+ seconds. I have an i9 processor (10900k), which should be perfect for this kind of application, but their usage of multithreading is absolutely awful. When I look at the resource monitor in windows, it uses three "cores", though two of those virtual cores are on the same physical core, so they share a lot of resources (especially relevant is the processing time). The i9-10900k has _20_ virtual cores, 10 physical, so there is a lot of room for multithreading. If they just took the route calculation out of the main game loop, it would eliminate nearly all of the lag. Also, as mentioned, using few, large planes is better for performance than many small ones, though the biggest performance hit comes from the number of routes you have set up. The shortest path problem is not an easy one to solve, so it's unsurprising that it's causing a large performance hit.
Hugely appreciate your comments on missing places & the devs origins. Especially Americans and especially with Russia, people tend to misunderstand how local policies can impact even “non-physical” exports, like a game.
In terms of long term thinking, it's better to ship transatlantic flights through the UK to Iceland to Greenland to Canada and so on because it allows am additional 5*600=3000 passenger capacity to the route for each additional city you add to that route for a relatively minor increase in travel time in any particular journey, increasing travel speed on average. An airport can hold at most 30,000 passengers, and with it only taking 3000 every minuteish it quickly overflows. Basically create routes with lots of stops rather than big direct routes
One thing I just noticed in this video, don't know if it's an update or not, but depending on how far you zoom, some city names stop appearing and some, I guess the bigger or busier cities, are slightly bigger then the others (you can check this on US with Washington and New York for example)
This is partially due to cities the game considers larger (regardless of how big the airport is), and also partially due to how upgraded the airport is. If you have a level 4 airport, it will always show the name, until you've zoomed out far enough that no names show.
If you wanna be super realistic, Atlanta needs to be your biggest airport. They're the busiest one in the world! Not the largest, but it is the busiest! It's also got a fantastic layout and is really easy to navigate. They even have a train inside that takes you to the different terminals! Atlanta airport has spoiled the heck out of me with airport experiences. Other places pale in comparison.
@@poisondog88 ATL has a train that goes to every concourse/terminal, and it's SUPER convenient and close. You don't have to walk for more than 2 or 3 minutes no matter where you are in the airport to get into the train, and there are multiple trains running all the time, so you don't have to wait more than a minute or two for the next one to arrive. It's the home base of Delta. Half the airport is dedicated to Delta flights, and everything else is on the other side. The layout is SO easy to navigate. Signs are everywhere with very clear directions to get you where you're going. I've definitely been spoiled by the ATL airport! Everywhere else just seems confusing and badly laid out, with zero sense in how to get to different areas... Toronto is AWFUL about stupidly long hallways. I had to walk like three freaking miles through there and was lost the entire time.
I needed $85 to $100 million to unlock everything, found it best to get all your long haul routes early since they become extremely expensive late game. Once hubs were established using roughly twenty countries I switched to regional connections then to countries that only added one or two cities in each one. Final 10 countries were over $2 million each to unlock. Adding a single maxed out plane to in country flights seemed to keep things moving within each country and didn’t cause hubs to get red very often and slow your money accumulation down. I also took it extremely slow and allowed my initial countries that were my global hubs to basically build out completely before I moved on to another hub. Started US, then Mexico, Brazil, England, Russia, turkey, Nigeria, South Africa, china, Indonesia, and Dubai, then moved onto more regional hubs, France, Venezuela, Argentina, Kenya, egypt, Poland, Kazakhstan Spain, and Germany. Again long haul routes between all of these seemed to work great, once you get past 50% unlocked global traffic becomes very problematic. Good luck, hope this helps!
You accidentally connected the the Nigeria - US route through philadelphia. This is the style with major hubs that I'm currently trying to do in the main game, but it's so hard. Nice to see you playing this game again. Hope the game gets the update and you can start to play the main game
I hate the hitboxes on the cities sometimes. I can't tell you how many times I've created the wrong route because of hitbox issues. The problem usually crops up on the super long routes; nothing like spending 15k+ on a transatlantic route to a spoke city,
It's wierd to me that once you unlock a country, the ones before don't get new destinations anymore. For example, once you unlocked India, you were stuck with only half of the country opened. You didn't have any airport opening on the West Coast. This makes the game less realistic and the map a bit empty depending on the speed you're going
It still baffles me as to why there’s no pause button. Sometimes I’ll hit the menu button anyway just so I can pause and think when things get too overwhelming
haha hard agree. And from Mini Metro/Motorways, and even back to Baldurs Gate 1 days i have a built in "when in doubt smash spacebar" reaction. And in this that could potentially speed up whats going on! not ideal
I am really enjoying these types of videos where you are kind of sat back just talking about the game or random topics as well. It is very entertaining and fun to watch!!
You should definitely spread out the long flights on each city. On unlock every country (ik it will get changed) I had four or five long routes on one city and ut just got overloaded even at max level
What was frustrating for me was Kansas City did both cities and I couldn’t ever get the second Kansas City connected to anything since it was right over the other one. So I gave up
tbh, the map looks like an equal-area projection with stretching around the equator and shrinking at the poles. the shape is distorted but the areas are correct. only greenland seems to be "cheating" with another projection because it should be more distorted
Are spawn rates for cities higher in mobile? Or rather you make a lot less money? Both? I started in France as well and gather $6,000 before expanding to the US, which is about $2,000 more than he did. The game floods me with the American cities and I have to wait for the money to come in so I can connect. I don't have the time to unlock other countries, or money. I assume it has to be something like that, I can't think of anything else.
I have one where I started with Poland then I unlocked Czechia and Slovakia after I unlocked Germany and Berlin had a huge problem with being full so I had to increase a lot of stuff took me like 5 minutes to get Berlin to be normal
I feel like unlock every country mode could be better if you had to unlock every country with a total set amount of time rather then trying to unlock a country every 6 minutes. Then there could be like nightmare mode, hard mode, medium mode, easy mode and finally free play.

You really should upgrade the smaller airports to get rid of the 40% penalty. Adding airplanes with 600 passengers capicity to an airport which can hold 50 passengers is not making sense at all.
My strategy is to connect capitals/major cities between each other and 1 short route between each of them and a hub that transports the tourists between the cities of this area It’s not really a great idea IRL, but works perfectly in this game
I think it's not controversial to say that Taiwan is a part of "China". Notice on the map that it's neither Chinese Peoples Republic nor Republic of China. Both PRC and RoC are in agreement that they are China and that the other is also a piece of China. They are not in agreement which government is the legitimate one, but both agree on what China is and it's what represented in this game.
Personally I found it better to connect all the country capitols to eachother and all cities to their countries capitol. Found I didn't need other hubs
If you don’t get France, you’re lucky. If you get France, you’re not lucky because the French Guiana will get Suriname and if you’re still in Europe you will need a many money to open that flight
Watched your All Countries run and the problem is that you were too centralized. If you connected the smaller outlying air ports you would have seen more travel outside of the hubs (instead of going from Shanghai to New Taipei its Shanghai - Beijing - New Teipei). Would have also saved a lot of travel between Kazakhstan and Beijing if you connected the Stans to China.
For this one just draw constellations between the dots, also look at where people are going and make direct connections. You are overloading Paris and Washington would be a nightmare if you don't have enough hubs, recommend Washington, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Phoenix (where I live), LA, Portland, all connected to each other.
Not sure about the idea of not upgrading smaller airports. I understand that Paris is the biggest airport in France but not upgrading Nice, Lile Toulouse etc. Not sure. Still enjoyed the video. Free play is very unstresful compared to countries lol
Im all country mode it does eventually hit you with that “PR says you should upgrade all level 1 airports, want to for this cost?“ so it covers that for me. Thats part of the reason i avoid it if i can. Dont know if it will do it in free play
@@S2isDrawingDead i see. I just noticed that you constantly have that "debuff" where one of your airports is full so the passengers pay less money for tickets. Shouldn't you avid that?
@@S2isDrawingDead well you did get the upgrade all current planes to lvl 2 at 50% cost, so I see no reason why you wouldn't get at least the equivalent for airports, and likely also the all futures planes/airports start at lvl 2 eventually
@@S2isDrawingDead I've been playing the game after watching your Unlock All Countries series, and I can confirm that it does have an event that allows you to upgrade all airports. Really enjoy the great content. Keep up the amazing work. 👍
I would absolutely not say that the game dev is simply unallowed to have their map the "right" way. Most countries have dominant school of political thought different from the West, and those differences don't require "censorship" to exist. It's a bit chauvinist to say that everybody in the world has your political outlook, which includes your outlook on *political* geography, but just aren't allowed to express it. In fact, labeling ideas as propaganda simply because it comes from a non-Western country is a form of racism called "orientalism."
Actually, it's somewhat worse because just leaving out Crimea instead of showing it as part of Russia is a huge concession to Western audiences. If the game was actually censored, wouldn't it be as strictly aligned as possible to Russian politics? Also, polling *conducted by U.S. firms including Pew Research* show that the overwhelming majority of Crimean citizens (over 90%) say they voted for secession and still stand by the decision. Yeah, a majority of UN members and experts in international law say it was technically illegal to secede by referendum despite its overwhelming popularity. However, the secession of a few of the Soviet Republics in 1991 was illegal in exactly the same way and those expressing (or feigning, because there's no way colonial powers care about sovereignty) concern over Crimea celebrated the fall of the USSR.
4:43 whyyyyyyyyy united states??? i would unlock something like germany or spain but us?? even getting people to the united states would be way too expensive because routes are like 100000000000000 miles long

I know that you live in Victoria, Australia 🇦🇺 because of your accent. I live in Adelaide, Australia
It’d be interesting if you did pick my accent as being Victorian - because i knew up in Sydney and moved as an adult. Ive been here long enough though that it could have easily shifted
@@S2isDrawingDead Hi again, thanks for talking to me, I didn’t know you were Victorian but I knew you were from Australia, Today I just downloaded fly corp because of watching your videos and it really fun. Please give me a shoutout in the next video. Btw I am subscribed
@@S2isDrawingDead pretty please give shoutout🙏
@@S2isDrawingDead your fly corp vids are amazing 🤩 please do some more
@@S2isDrawingDead plz do some more fly corp vids. I am watching your second unlock all countries series now. Unlock all the countries on free play next pleeeeeease
You really should upgrade the smaller airports to get rid of the 40% penalty. Adding airplanes with 600 passengers capicity to an airport which can hold 50 passengers is not making sense at all.
Can you make line from bulgaria to india or france please
I swear I just can't connect the cities on the mobile version can someone help? I tried dragging it but it still didn't work.
WERE BACK LETS GOOO
Pls continue this series
New one in a few days :)
I think you should get germany
My strategy is to connect capitals/major cities between each other and 1 short route between each of them and a hub that transports the tourists between the cities of this area
It’s not really a great idea IRL, but works perfectly in this game
I think it's not controversial to say that Taiwan is a part of "China". Notice on the map that it's neither Chinese Peoples Republic nor Republic of China. Both PRC and RoC are in agreement that they are China and that the other is also a piece of China. They are not in agreement which government is the legitimate one, but both agree on what China is and it's what represented in this game.
WOW, Pittsburgh is the 3rd US city, wild! (My town)
My free play game only allows 6 countries to be unlocked.
Finally free play!!!!!!!
2:02 Pun Intended?
Imagine Seeing 'Nice' City
PLS MAKE EPISODE 2
let's go.....yes finish this one before the all country mode is fixed....
ooo when you accidentially chose Philadelphia for the long flight...
I got fly corp on my iPad and it just shows me the game dev screen when u get in and I can’t actually play someone please help me play
Is the mobile version different to the pc version, when I tried on mobile I struggled to make any money but you made 10k easy
Personally I found it better to connect all the country capitols to eachother and all cities to their countries capitol. Found I didn't need other hubs
You need 100+200+400+800+1600+3200+6400+12800+25600 to upgrade an airport to max (30000 seats)
So how long would it actually take to get all countries and all airports?
You are overloading Paris and Washington would be a nightmare if you don't have enough hubs, recommend Washington, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Phoenix (where I live), LA, Portland, all connected to each other.
you should spend more time on each country, like what you did with france in the beginning
interesting they didnt deign to include the great lakes
I unlocked all of Europe and North America and South America why is my money not increasing like that?
Love it
Upgrade the level 1 cities so that you dont loose money
how do you get so much money so quickly
You seem to miss the most new cities when you start chatting lol
Bro how'd you get rich when you got to the United States? I GOT BANKRUPT WHEN I UNLOCKED THAT NATION.
HOW DO YOU THIS APP?! >:(
I hate the lawsuits in this game
He said nice and nice unlocked 😐
Nice 🤌
02:01
it drove me nuts to see you ignore upgrading the indian airports
In free play,it’s slower to earn money
Toronto is A major city
I’ll just copy it
Lmao you got sued for lost baggage in Washington DC before the first flight landed.
Hi
This does not have the same feel =/
4:43 whyyyyyyyyy united states??? i would unlock something like germany or spain but us?? even getting people to the united states would be way too expensive because routes are like 100000000000000 miles long
and they sued me IMMEDIATELY, haha
@@S2isDrawingDead hey drawing dead did you know there's a new update in mini metro that added a new map called addis ababa? yeah i played it and i got 1993 on my first try, see what you get
by the way can you make a video of the new achievement? i haven't got it yet
@@lukeguo3966 I did see! Video has been recorded, achievement has been gotten. I cant remember how many passengers i got. Since i got the achievement was at least 1800. But i dont think i lasted much longer, so you might have me with your 1993. Video will go up not today, but tomorrow
