Old School Deep House Mix (1993-2005)

- An ode to a bygone era of house music.
Inner Chords is a tried and true deep house mix with songs from 1993 to 2005. Tracks that contain but aren't exclusive to ethereal vocals, deep chords, groovy basslines, jazzy improvisation, and soulfulness beyond measure permeate the whole mix and will have you headbobbing into the wee hours of the morning. The mix is intended for a night in solo or with friends accompanied by something to wind down the night with: a bowl (or two) and/or a glass of wine.
After discovering that some of my favorite house records came from the 90s and early 2000s, I spent the last few months searching the depths of the internet for the best tracks I could find that pertained to distinct sounds I had always wanted to play. Something about these tracks' rawness, swing, and overall lack of polish that I couldn't get enough of.
The result of that labor of love includes this mix. Many people inspired these mixes but few pushed me to newer bounds of music more than Chaos in the CBD, Ian Pooley, The Groove Boys Project, and of course, my brother Kevin.
Made with love. Hope you enjoy.

@@chrissedayao Thank YOU for the insane mix
ty graciass!!!
thx you brooooooooo
This mix is curing my depression. Thank you. Any idea on where the vocal sample “you don’t have to hide” in the project Toka song comes from? Ty in advance if you can help me
I was in and out of house parties, bars, clubs and warehouses in Chicago during this era. I lived with 2 DJs. Looking back, we completely took for granted how "present" we were. Much as been said about the lack of phones-and no doubt 80% of it was not having a flashing dopamine slot machine in the pocket at all times. But the proto-internet was also such a sweet spot. There was NO SHAZAM. Many DJs put tape over the records or white labeled. You heard an amazing track and knew it very well might be the last time you ever heard it. You remembered the DJ and hoped they'd play it again if you saw them again. And if someone else dropped the track, or a remix, BOOM to the moon. It was all pretty ephemeral but deep. A beautiful mix. The DJ was a character at the event, but not the main character. That was the dance floor. You went to these places to feel a positive thing with people you just met, or friends you made in the scene. You went to vibe. To feel high. To feel alive. It was a great moment in time.
100%
:’)
I really wish I were 10-15 years younger so I could have experienced that.
damn , never thought of it like that, how rare and special every song was back then since you couldn't just look it up on your phone and play it anytime. kind of like when I was a kid having to wait until it came on mtv or the radio, but worse since you didn't even know what the song was. really dope though. makes it more special and you appreciate it more. enjoying the moment
Same on this side in South Africa.. deep/mellow house parties 👌
We were playing San Andreas last night and we left this masterpiece playing as we cruised from Los Santos to Las Venturas back and forth. Really nice journey. What a mix. Thank you brother.
This is incredible. Glad I got to be apart of the GTA journey.
That sounds like suuuuch a vibe. Love that game 😭🙏🏽
It really fits, the mix is brutal.
Seems its been a minute now its already makes us feel nostalgic.
You didn’t drive anywhere. You sat on a couch.
Amazing that my school is considered now an "old school".
This music will live forever lads
Forever timeless my friend

💯 😻❤️☺️🎉

My Dad had a booklet full of burned CD’s back when, I remember him buying me my first CD player so I could listen to his house music CD’s that he would play in the car.
Thanks for the memories man.
when you go to the channel to find more and are left broken, torn, devastated watching a DS 4200 video. pain. the people need more
My guy I apologize for the old college videos. A new mix on the way in a few minutes
@@chrissedayao lol cant wait
@ConcernedThirdParty what's a ds4200?
@@olivertodd732 it was a video he had on his channel for a college class project, I was just trolling him to release more house mixes because his one mix was heat.
@@barterboates it worked
Well, the vibe of the late 90s and early 2000s is absolutely recognizable, some tracks and sounds are recognizable. great time machine. Unfortunately, no matter how sad it is to admit, modern music has lost something over the years. Some kind of warmth, kindness, closeness.
Something about this era that never really got better...
Warmth, kindness and closeness is the best way anyone can put it. Well said 🙏. As a millennial first stumbling upon (real) house music and seen the scene change in Miami I can agree that music has lost its touch
@@chuchaftw The people who were making electronic music back then had grown up in the 70s/80 world of real musicians and analog music. That was where their roots were.
New guys never knew that world.
I don't think that's entirely fair. Leon Vynehall, Lone, Fennec, Galcher Lustwerk make house music with plenty of "warmth".
imho its because new music now is basically based on algorithms and what sells NOW. Not that im saying music back in the day wasn't the same but before there was a scene for all genres. I remember growing up in the 90's and you had stores that sold "rave clothing", "hip Hop clothing", Latin "HIp Hop" clothing... so you were invested in the culture of that music. Now with the advent of mp3's and streaming you don't need to be invested in the scene. You had clubs that only played house. clubs that only played Hip hop/R&B. You had clubs that played Latin music (salsa, merengue) that had strict dress codes (no t-shirts, hip hop clothing, sweats, no running shoes, etc) You had to wear slacks and a collared shirt and dress shoes/boots or else no entry (My friend got denied entrance to such clubs cus he was not dressed like the requirements) Yeah TRY DOING THAT NOW!!!!! but it did have the effect of feeling like you were being part of a community of like minded people. You searched for people who liked the culture, music and wanted to be part of it. Now a days its just free for all.... there is no sense of comminity or anthing... just show up, pay cover/entrance fee and fuck off Ha ha ha@@chuchaftw
Music that makes me feel like living life. I love it.
Listening this on a late night? Me too man.
Hello internet friends, after a few people told me they would like to download the mix, I decided to make a Ko-fi page to do just that. Here is the link: ko-fi.com/chrissedayao

Just tune after tune.
I may have been born after all of these songs were made, however my parents have made me fall in love with music like this. Music for the soul.
Same here although I didn’t hear house music growing up with my parents I’ve learned it through radio sf-ur from San Andreas in 2005 with my cousin letting me play it even though I was 9 years old lol. Over the years my hunger for house music led me to discover Disco, Hi NRG, New Wave, Pop, in the last 4 years. Funny thing those genres where also on other gta games. I’m 27 but I love everything house. I love my city of Chicago where House music was born.
Much love harry! I feel the same way as my parents had me interested in older sounds that translated so well into this era of house - deep and soulful. Glad you felt this way ❤
@@chrissedayao...if I may join:
My son surprises me every once in a while with my favourite grooves and I'm so glad to get it served back in the best and warmth feedback i couldn't even imagine.
It's all about the groove...empathy, love and sharing.
Grateful to witness such healthy and authentic feedback for 'just a mix'😊😅❤
@@maximenish Much love!
what fantastic era 90 house music
this with a cup of black coffee while microscoping hits the spot.
forever music
This is what deep magical house is all about…. The late ‘90’s until about 2006. What a time for deep soulful house. O thing even comes close too often anymore. Much respect!! Sends chills down my spine! Pure bliss! I remember falling in love with Naked Music and the sounds of The Rurals. There was so much great deep house back then. 😊
Ahhh much love! 2 new mixes are on the way and the rurals and naked music are most definitely apart of them.
This era of deep house has indeed never been superated nor surpassed or surmounted!
Bro I'm getting flashbacks of so many great nights dancing my feet off, sweating up a storm in places like 550 Barneveld/111 Minna/1015 Folsom - San Francisco, Dirty Dirty House Club at Ackbar/King King Sunday Nights/Spring Street Warehouse - LA... the best times
late 90s to early 00s - the high renaissance of deep house
You know it
House Music shall live forever!
Stop using words. No Words could explain This Mix. Mixes Like This Explain Universal Understanding.
Love from Detroit

This is exquisitely mixed. Can tell you've taken time to really consider sequence of tracks too. Thank you for sharing. Bravo! 👌
Dope mix , keep it up Chris !
Everytime I remender this mix exists I work like several days with it playing non stop
gourgeous mix, i particularly always dig for these specific "bygone era's" of house
the beats that were done first and all other works derive from, to find consolidated mixes that TRULY highlight the roots and anthems of house,
all while starring some spectacular musical improv on lesser known tracks?? OOF SO GOOD ❤❤
i truly hope you upload more, and thank you so much for the mix, ate this one up entirely 🙏
Thank you so much. I really appreciate this. I will upload another mix soon. Much love ❤

Beautious!!!!! I remember hearing house for the first time in San Francisco back in 92....I was hooked! Went to many different parties and clubs. I still listen and dance to my fave DJ's, one including DJ Garth! I just saw him spin in SF a couple of weeks ago, and I danced the entire time!
Thanx for sharing! Sending love and gratitude!! ❤🔥❤❤🔥
