  • Bodhi Nidra Level 4 is an easy to listen to yet powerful Buddhist meditation technique for total stress relief and inner peace. This is part one in a four part series introducing the core beginners concepts of a powerful Theravada Buddhist meditation practice, in a relaxed 'yoga-nidra-like' setting.
    Phase 1: The Physical Body
    Phase 2: The Emotions
    Phase 3: The Mind
    Phase 4: Consciousness
    The source of Bodhi Nidra:
During the final days of the Buddha, he insisted that a set of teachings be set aside from the others. The most essential set of practices containing his form of meditation was extracted and given precedence. The first set of practices in this set of teachings is known in Theravada Buddhism as the 'Four Frames of Reference'. These are the four proper themes to meditate upon, including the physical body, feelings, thoughts and mental qualities. The meditator is to take any one of these themes as their frame of reference for observing and mastering him or herself. When ever anything is experienced the meditator is to observe the impact it has on the frame of reference without judging, over analyzing, or over concerning oneself with any implications the source of the stimulus might have in the world of duality; but simply learning to observe the codependent relationship between physical sensation, feelings and thoughts in-and-of-themselves. One gradually reveals their own subconscious reactions, thought patterns and belief structures. This empowers you to release and transcend tension no matter what the source might have been. The more we illuminate ourselves, the sooner that order and beauty can grow into our lives.

What have I hungered for? Awakening. Equanimity. To always have my feet on ego self neck. To connect souls of similar vibrations. To create and become a partner in the process of service and creation. Thank you so much for immersing me in the bath of equanimity. May all beings find their way.

how long should a person practice each stage of this ? would a week daily practice of each stage be ok or would a month on each stage work better, or could a person do each stage over four days ?

Each stage should be practiced until you can remain alert and aware through out the whole practice without microsleeping or losing mindfulness of the practice. When you have realized the fruit of each session you are ready to go on to the next level.
