This video could have been filled with stuff from this century alone, and it STILL wouldn't have been enough to cover everything. This needs to be a top 20 or even a top 100
I would have put the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami (also known as the Boxing Day Tsunami) Leaving Devastation through many countries and leaving over 200,000 dead
The Chernobyl Disaster on 26 April 1986 should have made this list. It is considered the world’s worst-ever civil nuclear incident. It is one of only two (Fukushima being the other) nuclear energy accidents rated at seven (maximum severity) on the International Nuclear Event Scale.
I knew 9/11 would be number 1. Every year I always watch over a dozen documentaries over a couple days to honor those people who died and no matter how many times I watch those planes crashing or those buildings collapsing I can NEVER resist reacting as if I’m watching it for the first time ever. Some things never stop being truly horrible
Those people died because Bush Jr refused to payback the billions loaned to Bush Sr by the Bin Laden family, your country is built on corruption hence the massive fear you have as a collective of people.
I still get emotional anytime 9/11 is brought up... It was the first world event that shook me to my core. I feel to this day nothing still compares to it.
I was 4, but I sort of remember it; my mother was freaking out. Her mom and grandmother were flying that day out of Newark, one of the takeoff places for the highjackers.
As a native Brooklyn, NY boomer #1 left me both devastated and speechless -WTC coverage was relentless . The rest if the list includes so many horrific events but you could easily expand it to 15 or 20 events because there were so many others that were devastating.
I remember the JFK assassination when I was a little boy - the grief the whole country felt. But 9/11 felt like even more of a gut punch - an event the likes of which many had never seen before.
I can also relate about the 9/11 gut punch. I was at a school in Puerto Rico when it happened. The ENTIRE classroom saw the attack. And since I was born in New York, it shocked me to the core.
That Family Guy ep: Road to Pilot, showed a case where Brian Griffin stopped those terrorist attempts to highjack the planes, which resulted in George Bush not lasting a second term and oddly encouraging a new Civil War.
MH370 didn’t leave people speechless per se maybe a few months or years of it not being found but this list is about immediate shock to people… the Tenerife disaster or Lockerbie disasters would have been on this list before MH370 (both are in the top 10 most famous plane crashes in the world and both include 747s)
To this day, the 9/11 Twin Towers Attack is still one of the most worldwide shocking news to me. I was at a school in Puerto Rico when it happened & the entire classroom saw it on the TV screen. As someome who was born in New York, it shocked me to the core.
I grew up in England and decided to skip school that day. Every tv channel was just footage of it all happening. Doesn’t feel like that long ago and definitely something that will stick with all of us forever 😢
@@joshhensley2396Agreed. The fact that thousands, if not hundreds or millions, of innocent people died that day is the most unforgivable part of the attacks.
I can remember 9/11 vividly. I was 11 years old and I stayed home sick that day from school. I was turning on the TV to watch cartoons and saw the CNN Special Report. My papaw was there with me, and that man sobbed like he had lost his best friend. That was the first time I ever saw him cry. Later that day, we head the sonic boom of military planes flying over our house, as we lived close to Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio. The silence that followed that evening and over night was eerie and uncomfortable.
It was a cold morning in the Philippines. 4am to be exact, I had few missed calls from my dad who resides in Cali and few from my fellow Fortnite friends in LA as well. It was a heartbreaking day for me. Not a single day passes by without thinking of Kob.
I was a teenager when Katrina hit. I remember watching on TV as people were helplessly walking on the I-10 overpass, including seeing a few dead individuals that had died waiting for rescue. Still to this day, I remember this and it still gives me chills.
Can't beleive you missed the Indian Ocean Tsunami of 26/12/2004. Over 250,000 died in one of the if not THE biggest ever natural disasters of our time. Your list was far too western focused, I'm a Brit but far too many British related items on that list. There's a bigger world out there than just the west you know
The ocean is so awesome but terrifying at the same time. I don’t understand why people would still want to go that deep and explore, I prefer to be on land lol
Wow, I remember a lot of these events. I also thought the death of Queen Elizabeth II would’ve been included too, but wow…so many events that have happened in our lives. History classes are going to be something else in the future
@@PerfectlyImperfect93 maybe not effected, but it definitely was an impactful moment in world history, like the other mentions have stated in more ways than 1. I mean world stopping is something where the whole world watched about it on the news, at least in my opinion.

My first solid memory is 9/11 (I was 4). I vividly remember seeing the 2nd tower hit and the sound my mom made. It wasn’t a scream necessarily, the only way I can describe it is the invocation of terror.
I always remember as a kid hearing the question “where were you when JFK was shot?”. That was of course until 9/11. Being woken up by my mother to turn on the tv and the days that followed have been burned into my memory as with most people worldwide. Working at a k-8 Catholic school at the time I remember spending the day trying to keep the kids as calm as possible, and I distinctly remember sitting in my car on a break watching a lone kindergartener play by himself, jumping around with realization how much the world was changed by that day’s events.
Please specifically mention that all your lists will include only and only western events. Because I don't see why 26/11 Mumbai attacks, Sri Lanka easter day bombings, Nepal earthquake etc are not included.

These may not be important for the American people, but they are significant for the rest of the world..
Also, the fact they controlled it with an Xbox controller is just hillariously pathetic even the guy who interviewed the CEO was facepalming and can't control his laugh
Another from the uk was the Hillsborough disaster on 15th Apr 1989, 97 people lost their lives at the football stadium that was hosting the fa cup semi final between Liverpool & Nottingham Forest. The police keep allowing fans into an already packed standing section of the football stadium which caused a huge crush & fans to spill onto the pitch, 96 people died on that day & many were left injured, the 97th person died recently.
The main event I remember is Hurricane Katrina that was a really sad year. Honestly, I really shocked about what happened to the people in New Orleans. I wonder what they are doing now thankfully I wasn’t there when that happened but I still feel bad about what happened at the time and honestly I can’t stop thinking about it. also the 9/11 is one of the other memories I remember honestly it was a sad year. I can’t turn away on that one too. Honestly I wish the World Trade Center was still open then I would’ve gone inside it. I knew somebody that went inside it, and they said that it was really amazing.
Excellent list. There should be a Part II that includes the 2004 tsunami, the 2011 tsunami, Chernobyl, Columbine, Mumbai Attacks, January 6, COVID, getting Osama bin Laden (the only positive thing I can think of), and certainly more I am forgetting.
Honorable mentions goes to that Florida Serfside condo collapse, the Kansas City Hyatt Hotel ballroom collapse, multiple plane crashes (especially ones with over 100 people onboard, and many more that I could go on and on about.
