This was awesome. Thank you for teaching us about our own traditional foods. We can't get this anywhere else. Keep it nice and local. Both of you are great presenters. Do I hear someone say Chataigne?
My thoughts exactly
I have not eat chow Rai bajee in years I think it is the sweetest bajee
Nice dish. Next time mix it with some pumkin and poi leaves. Traditional utencils being used, great keep the culture alive.Well done.
That takes it to the next level. It gives it some sweetness too.
Where is the sada roti iron the white rice and dahl? I am glad to see that bhagi is still eaten..
I ate from childhood in tnt a d now in another country I grow it so that it is always available for me. I am now 79.
I cook the bhagi until it is soft, do not want any bite to it.
Dev, that Bata graphic on your t-shirt, is it Bata that I wore to school in 1967 or is it some new brand or something? Just an oldlennial asking
Hi there! It’s the old logo. I like retro, vintage stuff so I make all my own t-shirts. Thanks for watching!
Chorai bhagi and basmati rice is the bomb!!!
True dat👊👍❤
Where in Trinidad can you get the Chorai Bhagi?
The market
I always thought coconut milk was added. Looks good though, will be trying
It is.... I usually got a recommendation to try a few ochro in it.... Delicious
It’s option. The good news here is they showed the simplest form of making it which was great. You can other things as other people commented. Great video🤟
Why do you use only the leaves and not the stalks also?
So we could use it to STALK other dishes.😉
Aye boi wey yuh get dah BATA JERSY FRUM.
Greetings!!! Very nice....thank you! I would love to see you all make a vegan Callaloo : )
Where do we get the curry leaves
I love Bhagi and rice
Great plate, mauby missing. Love the jersey Dev wearing, used to wear bata bullet, bubble gummers and north star back in the 80s.
Hey kezzy 👋 love the spanich but a bit to hard everyone have their preference but I love to see tomatoes a little pumpkin &must see my onions boldly don't like all that chewing 🤷🤷 still appreciate the video 💕💕
If you're finding it too hard, you may try the smaller variety which has black, grey and green colours, spreading out, is mostly found in sugar cane fields, is more delicious.
@@honeybadger8942 thank you 👍👍
My favorite kind of bhaji...yummy.
We had it in the backyard in Bk
the Chorai Bhagi I am familiar with is different in color ... red stems and smaller leaves
That is the better one. This is a tougher kind
Hi Mitra, I am growing a Chorai Bhagi. Wanted to know if the red stems are cooked also??
@@helenprescott8268 yes we add some of it not too thick
I know this video is a couple years old, but how do you get the bitterness out of this . I cooked this today and it’s delicious but bitter. I love but my family hates it because of the bitterness
Bhagi and Cheese in a sada roti!
Team Garlic!
That food looking so delicious 😋😋 great job guys
Dat Bata Juzeee hit meh for 6 , ah infatuated ❤❤😂ah coming fuh it 😂😂😂
Nice
that BATA jersey is a Classic
Nice dish
Aye....BATA!!!
That is not chorai bhagi that is big leave bhagi chorai is small leaves - hmm 🤔
Chorai bhagi IS NOT SPINACH. Spinach is SLIMY but not chorai. Put the two together and you can cook up a great bhagi. Shadon.beni spoils a lot of things. Shadon.beni should be VERY LIMITED and only to meats and fish etc. NEVER WITH VEGETABLES NOR ROOT CROPS. One person puts Shadon.beni with dhal for deal puri. YUCK. Let's keep things AUTHENTIC.
DEAL puri is DHAL PURI
Coconut milk is good for in doing any bhagi...especially dasheen bush bhagi. Calloo also carries coconut millk. ❤
🇨🇦🇹🇹👍👍
Nice-:))
Yours look more like bhaji.
SADA!!!
I been watching these episodes for a while and I think after all the cooking this young lady have experienced
it’s time to just rest the ingredients in front of her and let her do her thing😂😂
First
2nd
This is exactly how not to cook bhaji, sorry but this is video is trash. I shame as a trini. Please don't use traditional and your cooking in the same sentense.
Cheers people. Great job🙏🏽👍🏽
