This reminds me of my great grandpa whom I never met, who had a pocket watch like this. He died the year before I was born. But Nana kept his pipe, watch and his pocket knife. She had these things with a picture of him after he passed. She had the watch open too. Thanks for the memories.

Those are waterproof inks. They do not react with water.😉
