Rocky's such a clever fighter; letting Drago tire himself out, by hitting him in the face with a thousand accurate haymakers in a row. Well played sir, well played...
Rocky's strategy in this fight was actually quite brilliant (besides the whole getting his face and brain tenderized thing). He kept working those rib shots as he knew it was going to be a long fight. You could see in the final round leading up to the knockout that Drago was in genuine pain as Rocky kept pounding his ribs. Hard to fight when it's painful to breathe.
and the brilliance carries on to Creed 2. Since Ivan trained Viktor to be better than he ever was as a boxer, notice how he made Viktor's specialty to be bodyshots, Viktor crushed Adonis' ribs in both fights and it was on Ivan's directions, he taught that to Viktor because it worked so well against him when he fought Rocky.
Although all of Rocky's knockouts came from a big head shot, Rocky was always most notorious for his body shots he would deliver. In this universe, anyone who ever fought Rocky-- win or lose-- would probably tell you Rocky hurt the guy's abs and might've even broke his ribs. He broke Apollo's ribs in their first fight, and you can see how much pain Drago was in with all of the body shots Rocky was giving him in this movie. Hell, even in Rocky III, despite fighting Clubber Lang more like Apollo's style vs. his own, he was landing a lot of body shots. Tommy Gunn and Mason Dixon also got a taste of Rocky's rib-busting hooks and uppercuts.
@@ManooPaulose I think at the end drago just gave up because he just couldn’t break him so in his mind he already lost so he just didn’t really care and that’s why rocky knocked him out.
Rocky won but at a very high cost. This fight is really what ended his boxing career. Like he said in Creed 2 “ He broke things in me that ain’t never be fixed”.
He achieved everything one could in his career it was the perfect finale defeating the russian machine his career was over but his legacy as the greatest to ever live will never be
Although so many of us watched these movies when we were kids, it's only when we mature that we realise how emotionally and spiritually relatable the fights are to our struggles, failures and victories in life. Which is why I sometimes get really emotional in watching them. What powerful movies these are...
Rocky 4 is all about capitalism vs. communism. My cousin who works at Walmart was going to rally the government for an increase in the minimum wage. But after watching Rocky 4 he realized that would be Socialism/Communism; it would steal money from capitalist owners and lead to evil in this world. So he fought for the opposite. He's really happy the minimum wage hardly ever went up in all these years and that Walmart owners got even richer. Communism lost. Capitalism won. Rocky won. Don't forget Ivan Drago is evil. My cousin is now homeless by the way.
@@alisescott4650 The scene is so incredibly fast paced, meaning that the camera cuts to a different angle like every two seconds, and I so hilariously implied that the Editor ( the guy or gal who puts the scene together), was on cocaine, being that this movie premiered in the 80s doesn't help his/hers case. Drago (real translation, instead of "He is not human"): "Not true. He is like a piece of iron (Russian)" .
NO PAIN!!! NO PAIN!!!
I told this to my nephew who joined MMA at 9.
It was a girl
If drago would have an actual gameplan he would have crushed rocky into pieces
I love how Rocky goes back to South Paw for his final punch at 9:38...every bit of energy going into that last hit
Excelente pelicula no me canso de verla uma y otra ves.

Rocky's such a clever fighter; letting Drago tire himself out, by hitting him in the face with a thousand accurate haymakers in a row.
Well played sir, well played...
Underrated comment
That was kind of the thing with Rocky III, but Drago was on steroids in this one, so he wasn’t tired, Rocky just had more determination.
Kkkkkk
Kind of like what happens in reel steel
his brain turned into mush as result of this tho
Most motivating part of a film ever created ❤
Fun Fact: Sylvester Stallone married the woman that played Ivan Drago's wife
Really
Rocky: you called me a player, but I fucked your wife
That explains why he wanted to kill jim
Yeah she considered it a terrible mistake. They would divorce each other in just 2 years after this movie
Rocky doesn't block his face with his hands, he adapted a unique technique of blocking his hands with his face
Dragos steroid pumped veins were no match for the unorthodox face block
Dao Yang hahaha
He did block in this fight you know with the move of the head-You need too re-watch

@Goddamn 47 y-yoda?

This movie is iconic because I was born the year it was made! 😊
Both these dudes should've had Parkinson's by Round 10.

Parkinson's Disease is not idiopathic, so it won't be that likely for them to get it just by receiving raw head punches. But I get your joke lol

Good observation
He kept going for creed cuz he killed him so sad great movies
and the brilliance carries on to Creed 2.
Chop that midsection up!!
Gotta love the Rocky movies. Each punch like the closing of a VW golf passenger door.
7:07 that moment Drago realised he might actually lose this 😮 love this moment!

One of the greatest scenes.
What kept rocky alive is his will to win for his friend Apollo creed
No kidding
Exactly. He kept on coming back and it's not easy to defeat such a man. He wasn't a perfect fighter. But he had a big heart.
@@ManooPaulose Exactly!
@@ManooPaulose I think at the end drago just gave up because he just couldn’t break him so in his mind he already lost so he just didn’t really care and that’s why rocky knocked him out.

I don’t remember it even being this epic
I always remembered Drago saying something between rounds like "He is not a man, he is a piece of iron..."
"It's like fighting iron"
"He is a piece of iron!"
I must break you
"he is not a human he is a peice of iron"
I know right!! He's now like scared of Rocky!!! Life lesson folks, "Never tick off Rocky Balboa."
Rocky won but at a very high cost. This fight is really what ended his boxing career. Like he said in Creed 2 “ He broke things in me that ain’t never be fixed”.
That's what makes him such an amazing and admirable champ. He didn't care if it killed his career or even killed him, he just wanted to avenge Apollo.
@Original6Productions It literally gave him brain damage, lol.
He achieved everything one could in his career it was the perfect finale defeating the russian machine his career was over but his legacy as the greatest to ever live will never be
It affected his brain
Because drago kept going for the head
Drago and Balboa respected each other afterwards 🤜🤛
Man... This soundtrack in that fight scene is a fucking chill in spine. Vince DiCola - War.

Absolutely no cocaine was consumed by the editor before putting this scene together.
Sorry I don't get it please explain
@@alisescott4650 The scene is so incredibly fast paced, meaning that the camera cuts to a different angle like every two seconds, and I so hilariously implied that the Editor ( the guy or gal who puts the scene together), was on cocaine, being that this movie premiered in the 80s doesn't help his/hers case. But the comment in itself was a joke.
