THE BEST guitar backtrack in A major EVER.
Same chords used in Tuesdays Gone by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Neighbor across the fence thought it was a record when I solo over it. I have been looked at by SONY records and other agents back in the day. Got bit by a brown recluse and lost my job my home and my guitars and amps. I am going to LA or Muscle Shoals to record when I recover. I have so much emotion bottled up and need to record before I die. They say I might not have much time left. Don't die with a song in your heart.

This track is simple enough for me to use to practice my chord tone soloing... 1654... It did take me a little bit of practice to get fast enough to hit all the arpeggio notes in time before the next chord comes by. Great practice track! The best! Thank you.

The triads for this track are:
A C# E : (A major triad)
E G# B : (E major triad)
F# A C# : (F-sharp minor triad)
D F# A : (D major triad)
These triads are made by taking notes from the A major scale.

played the whole 6 minutes no breaks with amazing bends, legato, spanning 2 octaves and i never realised how cool improv sounds until now so thanks for the vid
Nice. I've been playing the guitar on and off for 30+ years (with a lot of "off"to be fair) and this is the first time I've jammed in a major key or figured anything out in a Major pentanonic configuration that didn't sound awful! Thanks for that.

You can play so many song lyrics and melodies over this. Love it!
It’s easier to play along a pop backing track rather a blues one because of the fact that one scale fits over the entire chord progression.
Play "A mixolydian mode" scale and realize you're a member of guns n roses. Great track.

A Mixolydian doesn't work over the 5 chord. It works over A F# and D.
Mixolydian minor 5 chord. So the b7 would serve as a #9 over the E yeilding E#9.
I guess it could work over the whole progression.
I was thinking over the 5 chord play A lydian the #4 would make the E an Emaj7 And over the D chord play A MIxolydian. The b7 makes a Dsus4.
Just to manipulate the key center brighter then darker.
A Harmonic Major works over the D chord also. The b6 yeilds Dmaj7#9.
I was trying to figure out how add color but not to much.

How can we make it more interesting without over doing it? 1 5 6 4
Over the 5 chord target the b7 of 5 (E7) chord and over the 4 target the maj7 and #11 (Dmaj7#11) within the key.
Out of key use A lydian over the 5 chord. The #4 makes it an Emaj7
And over the 4 chord(D) use A Mixolydian the b7 makes it a Dsus4.

Neatly manipulate the key centers and using Lydian and Mixolydian to add color. A Harmonic Major over the 4 Chord (D) The b6 would make an Dmaj7#9.

This progession has been used forever as a foundation. Then breaks; chorus's; melodies; to AED....or D>E....A>D....back to foundation. 1000's of songs have used it. So when you think it sounds like others songs....and it is their deal....you got it backwards!!!! They have all used it....Listen to Hurts So Good. A variation. Cryin'. It just makes musical sense and it sounds excellent. G-D-Em-C....same. Tuesdays Gone!!!!....Freebird just throw in F. More hit songs have been 3 chord progressions than any other. This 4 chord is probably 2nd!!!!
